Current release: We made
The ninth mini album arrived July 6, 2026 with Gimme Dat Love as title track, following pre-releases “mono” and “Crow.” The title is a deliberate callback to I made, but this time the credits and the fan conversation are messier: the group known for internal production chose its first Korean title track not composed by Soyeon. She wrote lyrics; Nigerian-born producer Abraham “Daramola” Olaleye led the composition.

2018–2020: they wrote the introduction themselves
i-dle debuted as six with “LATATA,” written and co-produced by Soyeon. “HANN,” “Senorita,” “Uh-Oh,” “LION,” and “Oh my god” established the central bargain: each comeback would have a character and the members would help author it. Minnie and Yuqi grew into regular writers and producers beside Soyeon.
2021: hiatus and fracture
After “HWAA” and the I burn era, allegations involving Soojin triggered a long hiatus; Cube announced her departure in August 2021. The remaining five members spent much of the year on individual work. This is not a footnote: the group returned with its structure, confidence, and public identity changed.
2022–2024: the five-member reinvention
“TOMBOY” did not politely resume the career. It kicked the door. “Nxde,” “Queencard,” “Super Lady,” “Fate,” and “Klaxon” expanded the mix of satire, camp, vulnerability, and huge hooks. The group became commercially larger after the crisis while making the authorship more visible.
2025–2026: contract renewal, rebrand, new argument
All five renewed with Cube. On their seventh anniversary, they removed the “G” and parentheses from the name and became i-dle, reclaiming the Korean name without the old gender marker. In 2026, We made tests what “self-made” means when outside producers enter the title-track room.

Neverland
Neverland is named for the place where nobody has to grow up, but the fandom has watched this group do an unreasonable amount of growing in public. The member shorthand helps: Soyeon builds the thesis, Miyeon stabilizes the melody, Minnie makes it strange, Yuqi gives it muscle and chaos, and Shuhua supplies the blunt ending nobody else was willing to say.
The tea, with receipts
The current debate is not imaginary: “Gimme Dat Love” is the group’s first Korean title track not composed by Soyeon. Fans are split between enjoying the Afrobeats-influenced summer glide and asking why one of K-pop’s strongest internal writing teams delivered such a short, repetitive chorus. That is criticism, not scandal.
The more material issue is the 2026 North American tour cancellation/postponement discussion and the long gap while We made was reworked. This page will separate official scheduling notices from fandom theories and link each update to the relevant album and song.
