Miyeon

Her bright, clean tone often carries the elegant or emotionally direct line while the group’s concepts get strange around her. She debuted solo in 2022 with MY and has also built an acting and hosting career.

Before debut

Miyeon trained for years at YG Entertainment before joining Cube and debuting with i-dle in 2018. Her pre-debut history explains the control: she arrived as a vocalist who already understood recording rooms, performance pressure, and the patience required to survive a delayed debut.

Career

2018–2020 · building the grammar

Miyeon debuted through “LATATA” and helped establish a group where voices, roles, and creative credits were meant to remain distinguishable. “HANN,” “LION,” and “Oh my god” made that difference impossible to ignore.

2021–2024 · fracture and reinvention

After Soojin’s 2021 departure, the five-member group returned through “TOMBOY” and began its largest commercial run. “Nxde,” “Queencard,” “Super Lady,” and “Fate” turned each member’s individual color into part of the group’s argument.

2025–2026 · i-dle and We made

The group renewed its contracts, rebranded from (G)I-DLE to i-dle, and entered a period where solo work and group authorship overlap. We made deliberately tests the limits of that authorship with outside producers and a very different title-track process.

Fandom notes

The fandom is Neverland. The useful way to follow Miyeon is through both group eras and individual work; i-dle’s entire appeal depends on the members being more specific than five people wearing one concept.
