Yuqi
The deep voice gets the headlines, but her real advantage is range: variety timing, dance power, rap texture, composition, and an ability to make a line feel spontaneous. Her official solo debut YUQ1 arrived in 2024.

Before debut
Yuqi attended Beijing 101 High School, led a street-dance club, and passed Cube’s 2014 Beijing global audition. She moved to South Korea, joined Cube Tree, and debuted with i-dle in 2018.
Career
2018–2020 · building the grammar
Yuqi debuted through “LATATA” and helped establish a group where voices, roles, and creative credits were meant to remain distinguishable. “HANN,” “LION,” and “Oh my god” made that difference impossible to ignore.
2021–2024 · fracture and reinvention
After Soojin’s 2021 departure, the five-member group returned through “TOMBOY” and began its largest commercial run. “Nxde,” “Queencard,” “Super Lady,” and “Fate” turned each member’s individual color into part of the group’s argument.
2025–2026 · i-dle and We made
The group renewed its contracts, rebranded from (G)I-DLE to i-dle, and entered a period where solo work and group authorship overlap. We made deliberately tests the limits of that authorship with outside producers and a very different title-track process.
Voice, performance, and creative identity

Watch “LATATA,” “LION,” “TOMBOY,” “Nxde,” and “Gimme Dat Love” in order. The point is the change.
Era map
- LATATA / HANN: the raw debut identity.
- LION / Oh my god: theatrical confidence.
- HWAA: elegance before the group’s hardest break.
- TOMBOY / Nxde: five-member reinvention and cultural argument.
- Queencard / Super Lady: camp, scale, and mainstream peak.
- We made: a self-producing group asking what still counts as “we made.”
Fandom notes
The fandom is Neverland. The useful way to follow Yuqi is through both group eras and individual work; i-dle’s entire appeal depends on the members being more specific than five people wearing one concept.
