THE FORMAT MAP
Four traditions, clearly labeled
The public Manga shelf is not going to pull in random illustrated posts just to look populated. Until canonical volume hubs exist, this page explains the map and leaves the inventory honest.
Manga
Japanese comics. Reading direction, magazine serialization and tankōbon volumes stay visible in the metadata.
Manhwa
Korean comics, including print and scrolling webtoon formats. Country and release format both matter.
Manhua
Chinese-language comics. The hub records region, platform and adaptation relationships rather than flattening them into manga.
Western Comics
American, Canadian and European comics remain their own publishing traditions even when the shelf shares filters.

No fake volume cards.
There are no completed canonical manga-volume hubs in this section yet. When the first one is built, its real cover, creator credits, edition data and reading route will appear here. Until then, empty is more useful than wrong.
FUTURE FRANCHISE ROUTE
When one story crosses formats
A franchise page will show exactly three gateway cards when all three formats exist: Light Novel Books, Manga Volumes and Anime Episodes. Each format keeps its own reviews while plot, character, arc, trope, Rant, React and 101 pages can be shared when the evidence genuinely overlaps.
On the record: “Manga” remains the menu label. The page itself does the work of distinguishing manga, manhwa, manhua and Western comics.
