Formation: DGNA did not disappear when ASC2NT began
Karam, Jay and Injun first worked together through XING and DGNA, then returned to public attention as Team 23:00 on JTBC’s Peak Time. The show reminded people that an idol career does not become worthless when the algorithm moves to younger faces.
NEWWAYS signed the three veterans and added Reon and Kyle. ASC2NT was therefore not a nostalgia unit or a completely new rookie group. It was a second chapter asking experience and new chemistry to share one stage.

Injun’s health pause became an exit; Hyowon entered
Injun paused group activities in November 2024 for health reasons. On June 24, 2025, NEWWAYS announced the end of his team activities after extended discussion. Seventeen days later, the company revealed Hyowon with the Conversion Part.2: Bloomed concept photos.
The speed felt like replacement math. The useful timeline is clearer: Injun needed a health pause, the separation became permanent months later, and Hyowon joined as a member with his own JWiiver history—not as a body-shaped patch.
The catalog keeps converting
Expecting Tomorrow (2024): “LOVE ME DO” and “The Reason” introduced the five-member debut. The title is almost aggressively hopeful for men carrying previous careers into a new company.
Conversion Part.1 (2024): “Sweet Devil” and “Your Echo” moved the group beyond the redebut headline and toward a cleaner adult-pop identity.
Conversion Part.2: Bloomed (2025): “DON’T MOVE” arrived with Hyowon in the new lineup. The command is loud; the emotional context is a group refusing to freeze after change.
“Replay” and STILL : I (2025–2026): the first mini album gave the lineup room for “Still Rose,” “Purple Rain” and “The Boy in the Mirror.”
“Green light, Yellow light, Red light” (2026): the latest single keeps the group moving instead of turning the comeback history into a museum.

The second-life premise was literal
ASC2NT did not debut from one clean trainee timeline. Karam, Injun and Jay had already debuted through XING and DGNA, survived the long quiet stretches that turn active performers into “where are they now?” questions, then returned to public view through Peak Time. Reon and Kyle entered as the younger half of a new five-member team. The number 2 in ASC2NT was not cute keyboard decoration; it named the second chapter the company was selling.
That structure gave the group an advantage rookies rarely get: three members who understood live stages, international schedules and the humiliation of being treated as old news, plus two members who could bring a genuinely new energy instead of reenacting DGNA. The risk was obvious too. If every headline called ASC2NT “the DGNA members’ new group,” Reon and Kyle became accessories. The music had to connect the histories without turning the younger members into replacement furniture.
The 2025 lineup change
Injun stepped away during a health hiatus and officially ended group activities in June 2025. New Ways announced that the group would return with a new member, then introduced Hyowon before “DON’T MOVE.” That sequence belongs in plain language: Injun was an original member whose health-related exit closed his ASC2NT chapter; Hyowon joined the current lineup. Calling Hyowon a replacement explains the open position, but it does not mean he inherited Injun’s voice, personality or history.
The current official five are Karam, Reon, Jay, Kyle and Hyowon. New Ways still lists those five on its artist page in 2026. The group continued after “DON’T MOVE” with “Replay,” the STILL : I mini album and “Still Rose,” then released “Green light, Yellow light, Red light” in July 2026. That matters because an audit frozen at the lineup change would make an active catalog look abandoned.
What the music learned between lineups
“LOVE ME DO” introduced ASC2NT with bright, earnest momentum and let the veteran vocal confidence carry a hopeful debut. “Your Echo” leaned into memory. “Sweet Devil” added temptation and sharper performance language. “DON’T MOVE” arrived after the lineup reset with more command in the title and more pressure in the delivery. The winter single “Replay” slowed the push forward long enough to sit inside repetition and loss, while “Still Rose” gave the current five a broader emotional frame. The summer traffic-light single then moved toward animated storytelling and lighter seasonal detail.
The through-line is not one genre. It is persistence without pretending persistence always sounds victorious. ASC2NT can deliver polished adult vocals because several members have lived through multiple careers, but the group works best when that experience becomes texture rather than a lecture. “DON’T MOVE” is forceful. “Replay” is stuck. “Still Rose” survives with damage visible. Why ASC2NT cannot be filed as a normal rookie group
Age is the lazy headline. Career stage is the useful one. Karam and Jay have lived through multiple group names, Japanese promotion, survival-show reappraisal and the strange industry habit of calling an experienced person a rookie because the logo changed. Reon and Kyle received their first official ASC2NT chapter beside that history. Hyowon arrived later with JWiiver and military service already behind him. The current five therefore do not share one beginning, and the profile should not force them into one.
That mismatch can create unusually good stage balance. Veteran members know how to pace a live vocal and recover when a cue misbehaves. Younger members keep the arrangement from sounding like a reunion special. Hyowon’s addition tested whether the structure could absorb another experienced redebut without losing its identity. The releases after “DON’T MOVE” suggest it could: the group moved from command to winter melancholy, then toward a rose metaphor and an animated summer-night single.
The company still has to make the path easier
ASC2NT’s official catalog is active in 2026, but international discovery still depends too heavily on knowing which spelling, language and platform to search. The official New Ways artist page finally gives the current five in one place. The video trail here adds what a profile needs next: chronological links that make the lineup boundary visible. Fans should not have to compare upload dates to determine whether Injun or Hyowon participated.
The group’s second-life premise already has enough real history. It does not need artificial mystery around basic continuity. Clear English titles, maintained playlists, translated lineup notices and profiles that distinguish original from current eras make the story stronger. Confusion is not lore. It is friction, and friction costs small groups the exact casual listeners they need.
The DGNA history belongs here, but it does not own the room
Karam, Injun and Jay debuted in 2010 as members of The Boss, also known as DGNA and Daikoku Danji. That history explains the experienced vocal center of ASC2NT, the Japanese audience that recognized them and the emotional force behind their return to television on Peak Time. It does not make Reon, Kyle or Hyowon supporting characters in somebody else’s reunion. ASC2NT is a new group built from unequal starting points, not DGNA wearing a second logo.
Peak Time brought the older members back into public view as Team 23:00, but the program also exposed how brutally the industry treats time. Their withdrawal after private photographs involving Karam became a controversy did not erase the performances that reminded viewers what the trio could do. It did make the route into ASC2NT messier than a clean comeback narrative. The hub records the sequence without turning humiliation into promotional seasoning.
The original six and the current five
ASC2NT debuted in May 2024 with Karam, Injun, Jay, Reon, Kyle and Reon’s generation of first-time group members sharing the frame. Injun later entered a health hiatus and left the group. Hyowon, who had already completed military service and experienced JWiiver’s collapse, joined seventeen days after the public exit notice. The current lineup is Karam, Jay, Reon, Kyle and Hyowon.
That boundary controls every card. LOVE ME DO, Sweet Devil and the original-lineup material route to Injun and the other five participants. DON’T MOVE and later five-member releases route to Hyowon, not Injun. A profile is not current merely because it lists both names somewhere; it must show which person performed which exact video. The lineup chronology is therefore part of the music archive, not a detached biography box.
A catalog built around second chances
LOVE ME DO had to introduce six people while carrying the curiosity surrounding three veteran redebuts. Its brightness prevented the group from sounding like a memorial service for careers that were still alive. Sweet Devil added bite and showed that maturity did not require permanent solemnity. DON’T MOVE became the first real current-lineup test, asking five members to turn a disruptive personnel change into command rather than apology.
Replay, Still Rose and the later seasonal material widen the emotional range. Winter restraint, romantic persistence and lighter color all belong to the same group because the vocal architecture remains recognizable. Why international discovery remains harder than the music
New Ways Company maintains official accounts and an artist page, yet the trail still asks casual listeners to know several spellings, former group names and upload channels. Search Karam and the results may prioritize DGNA. Search Jay and the name collides with half the entertainment industry. Search Hyowon and JWiiver history may appear before ASC2NT. The official ecosystem needs titles, playlists and descriptions that connect those identities without assuming fans already completed the homework.
Clear participant lists would solve much of the problem. Every upload should state the current lineup, the song version and the official release date in a stable description. Translated notices should arrive with the Korean notice rather than days later through fan accounts. None of this is glamorous. It is exactly the infrastructure that lets a small active group keep the curious viewer who liked one song.
What the member directory is protecting
Karam’s page follows leadership and main-vocal work without pretending maturity makes him infallible. Jay’s page separates DGNA history, performance character and current contribution. Reon and Kyle receive full careers rather than “new members beside veterans” footnotes. Hyowon’s JWiiver and military chronology explains his arrival without making him a replacement copy of Injun. Injun remains connected to the original ASC2NT era while his departure status and non-participation in later videos stay explicit.
Each person uses one distinct real local canonical image with complete metadata. Group releases use their own exact frames. Hub and profile cards route by participation. That sounds like database housekeeping until a lineup changes; then it becomes the difference between preserving history and quietly assigning a former member to songs released after he left.
Bottom line
ASC2NT is not remarkable because men over thirty were allowed near a microphone. It is remarkable because several interrupted careers became a functioning group with new members, new music and enough range to outgrow the novelty headline. New Ways still needs to make the catalog easier to follow, but the performers have already done the harder artistic work: they made a second beginning sound like forward motion.

The group status remains active under New Ways Company until an official notice says otherwise. A quiet month is not a disbandment; a member’s individual schedule is not a departure; a previous group credit is not a current lineup position. Updates require a dated source and exact relationship. That standard may look fussy, but ASC2NT’s entire story demonstrates what happens when several careers, two lineups and multiple names are flattened into one undated paragraph.
Every future official video will receive its own local canonical image, one exact player and a React dated within one to three days of upload. The hub and participating profiles will receive the same static card. Former members will not inherit later releases. The workbook will record the relationship so a design rebuild cannot quietly detach the song from the people who made it.
The Tea file remains tied to the confirmed sequence around Injun’s health hiatus, departure and Hyowon’s arrival. It can criticize the short public handoff without inventing medical detail or private contract motives. A later first-person statement can expand the record. Rumor cannot. That boundary lets the site speak plainly and still respect the people whose lives are being summarized.
ASC2NT deserves to be followed as a working act rather than as proof that older idols can still stand upright. The members have different beginnings and the current five have now built shared evidence. The next update should ask whether the music, staging and promotion improve—not whether time has granted them permission to continue.
