Injun should not vanish from the profile because the current lineup changed. He helped build ASC2NT’s first sound, then left after a health hiatus. The respectful version keeps both facts in the same sentence.

Before ASC2NT

Injun debuted in XING as Soul and in DGNA/The Boss in 2010, later working in Korean and Japanese musicals, plays and television. He released duets, completed military service and returned with Karam and Jay on Peak Time as Team 23:00. ASC2NT was another restart, but this one came with the pressure of proving three veteran idols could build a future instead of merely revisiting a past.

Music, performance and work

As main vocalist and sub-rapper, Injun added mature brightness and an experienced harmony ear to ASC2NT’s debut. He also helped younger members relax onstage, a useful job that never appears in line-distribution charts. A health hiatus began in November 2024. NEWWAYS announced his departure on June 24, 2025, and Hyowon was revealed seventeen days later. The speed made fandom emotion messy, but health absence, formal departure and replacement are three separate events and should be documented that way.

From XING to DGNA

Injun’s first public idol chapter predates ASC2NT by more than a decade. He joined the later-generation lineup of XING under the stage name Soul, then moved with fellow former XING members into DGNA, also known as The Boss or Daikoku Danji. DGNA debuted in Korea on March 4, 2010 with “Admiring Boy,” followed by the Awake mini album and songs including “Stumble Stumble” and “Shining World.”

The group’s career became especially connected to Japan. The “Love Series” singles, beginning with “Love Power” and continuing through titles such as “Love Bingo!” and “Love Parade,” established a long Japanese performance history. Injun therefore entered ASC2NT with experience in two languages, fan events, touring, live harmony, and the practical endurance required when a group promotes more consistently abroad than at home.

DGNA’s vocal identity relied on blended voices rather than a single member carrying every climax. Injun’s brighter tone and ease with spoken interaction made him useful both inside songs and between them. That second skill is not trivia. Concerts and fan meetings require someone who can recover dead air, explain a segment, translate the room’s mood, and help quieter members contribute without turning the event into one long solo monologue.

Acting, theater, and the years between groups

Injun continued working outside standard comeback cycles through musicals, stage plays, television, and fan events. He appeared in the 2017 Korean adaptation Power Rangers Dino Force Brave as Lee Pureun, adding screen acting to a résumé already shaped by live performance. Theater work trained a different kind of projection: emotions must reach an audience without the close-up editing that can rescue a music video performance.

He also completed his required military service before the next major public restart. These middle years matter because they prevent the biography from creating a false empty space between DGNA and Peak Time. Injun remained a working entertainer even when the release schedule no longer resembled an active second-generation idol group’s calendar.

Peak Time and Team 23:00

In 2023, Injun returned to televised competition with Karam and Jay as Team 23:00 on JTBC’s Peak Time. The program was designed for already-debuted groups seeking another opportunity, so their history was not hidden as an embarrassment. Their performance of TVXQ’s “Mirotic” reminded viewers that live stability, harmony, and stage control do not expire when a group leaves the weekly comeback cycle.

Team 23:00 later withdrew from the competition before the second elimination round. The important career result was still visible: the appearance reconnected the three performers with an audience and helped create the route toward a new company and a new group. Injun did not return as a nostalgic guest. He was attempting another active idol chapter.

ASC2NT: Expecting Tomorrow

ASC2NT formally introduced Karam, Injun, Jay, Reon, and Kyle in January 2024 and debuted on May 7 with the single album Expecting Tomorrow. The title captured the group’s central idea: veteran performers and newer members meeting in a project oriented toward the future. Injun served as a main vocalist and sub-rapper, bringing DGNA-era live experience into a lineup that had to create its own sound rather than perform only reunion material.

The debut cycle placed unusual pressure on the three veteran members. Publicity naturally mentioned DGNA and Peak Time, but ASC2NT needed to justify itself as more than a recovery vehicle. Injun’s role was partly musical and partly structural. His established chemistry with Karam and Jay gave the group an immediate vocal spine, while his talkative variety instincts helped Reon and Kyle enter interviews that already carried years of history.

The follow-up single album Conversion Part.1, released in October 2024, became Injun’s final ASC2NT release. It should remain attached to his profile even though later editions of the group continued without him. A current-roster page answers who is active now; a member archive answers who made the music. Those are different questions.

Health hiatus and departure

Injun paused activities in October 2024 for health reasons and rested away from the group’s schedules. He did not participate in later international promotions during the hiatus. On June 24, 2025, NEWWAYS Company announced that, after extended discussion, his activities as an ASC2NT member would end. The agency did not publish a diagnosis, and this profile does not attempt to supply one.

Three dates must remain separate. The health-related pause began in October 2024. The formal departure was announced June 24, 2025. Hyowon was revealed as the new fifth member on July 11, seventeen days later. Combining those events into a single “replacement” sentence creates the false impression that the hiatus itself was a dismissal. The verified record is more careful: Injun rested, the company and artist later ended his group activities, then ASC2NT rebuilt the five-member lineup.

As of August 2026, no verified new idol group or formal solo relaunch has replaced that status. Injun is a former ASC2NT member with a 2024–2025 tenure, a former DGNA member, an actor and stage performer, and an artist whose next public chapter should be added only when he or an authorized company announces it.

How to hear and watch Injun

Start with DGNA’s Korean debut material to hear the youthful version of his brighter vocal color. Move into the Japanese “Love Series” to understand the fan-facing warmth and language flexibility that became central to his career. Then watch Team 23:00’s “Mirotic” stage for the veteran performer: steadier pacing, less wasted movement, and the confidence to let harmony carry the impact.

Finish with Expecting Tomorrow and Conversion Part.1. Listen for how his voice sits beside Karam and Jay while also connecting to Reon and Kyle. His contribution is not only a collection of assigned lines. It is the experience of knowing when to lead a phrase, when to blend, and how to keep a new group from sounding like five separate résumés.

Archive checkpoint: Injun’s ASC2NT membership ran from the May 7, 2024 debut through the June 24, 2025 departure announcement, with active schedules paused from October 2024. His correct directory status is Former member · 2024–2025.

The panda side quest

Injun is a baseball fan, supports the SSG Landers, loves social media interaction and earned the nickname “Twitter King.” He hikes and works out with SS501’s Kim Kyujong, has acted in Power Rangers Dino Force Brave and once uploaded beatbox covers as part of the Tongs Trio. He also wakes up for snacks and can sleep whenever an opening appears. Finally, a realistic idol wellness plan.
