This was not one clean member swap. It was months of silence, a formal departure, a replacement reveal and a comeback clock that never stopped ticking.
The timeline, because “member change” hides too much
What happened
Injun did not leave in the middle of an ordinary active schedule. His public absence began as a health hiatus in November 2024. For months, ASC2NT functioned with Karam, Jay, Reon and Kyle while the official file remained unresolved. On June 24, 2025, NEWWAYS confirmed that Injun”s group activities had ended.
Seventeen days later, Hyowon appeared in new concept material. He was not a trainee pulled from a mystery basement. Fans could trace him to JWiiver, where he promoted as Jukang, and to military service completed only weeks before joining ASC2NT. That history made the reveal less blank but not less abrupt.
Why fans had feelings
Karam, Injun and Jay were not random co-workers. They carried XING, DGNA/The Boss, Japanese promotions and Peak Time together before ASC2NT existed. Removing Injun from the current lineup therefore touched a much longer emotional file than a one-year rookie profile suggests.
The company also moved fast. A seventeen-day gap between departure notice and replacement reveal can look preplanned because professional comebacks are preplanned. That does not prove bad intent; it proves the album clock, choreography and publicity schedule were already moving while the public still processed the old lineup.
Why Hyowon was not the villain
Hyowon entered a job opening after his own group stalled and after military service. He did not create Injun”s health problem, write the agency notice or control the announcement calendar. The first comeback required him to learn an existing team”s dynamics while fans compared every formation.
“DON”T MOVE” handled the introduction intelligently. The video gave Hyowon individual visibility, then kept returning him to five-person geometry. He was presented as the current member, not as a human eraser placed over Injun”s archive.

The fandom was allowed to be sad and suspicious of the speed. Companies train fans to read announcement timing because timing is often the only visible evidence they receive. But aiming that discomfort at Hyowon would have been lazy. Injun deserved a permanent place in ASC2NT”s first chapter; Hyowon deserved to enter the next one without being treated like stolen property.
The company”s real failure was emotional compression. “Health hiatus, departure, new member, comeback” arrived like four calendar notifications. A little more context would not have violated anybody”s privacy. It would have acknowledged that fans were not changing a spreadsheet cell. They were watching three DGNA veterans lose one another from the same active lineup again.
Where the file stands now
ASC2NT continued with Karam, Jay, Reon, Kyle and Hyowon. Injun remains a former member whose work on Expecting Tomorrow and Conversion Part.1 belongs in the archive. The current lineup has since released more music, and Hyowon”s place no longer depends on the novelty of being new.

The archive has to split the two lineups cleanly
Injun belongs to “LOVE ME DO,” “Your Echo” and “Sweet Devil.” Hyowon begins with “DON’T MOVE” and continues through “Replay,” “Still Rose” and the 2026 traffic-light single. Karam, Reon, Jay and Kyle connect both configurations. That is the useful relationship map. Attaching every video to every person who ever held the group name would make the archive look full and make it factually wrong.
Seventeen days is fast for the public, not necessarily for preparation
The public learned about Injun’s exit, then met Hyowon and received a comeback in a compressed sequence. That does not prove the company made every decision inside seventeen days. Labels rehearse, photograph and plan before announcements. The defensible claim is narrower: fans were asked to process a health-related departure and a new member almost at once, while the group had to present the revised five as ready.
That speed made clarity more important. New Ways confirmed the health reason and the plan for a new member; it did not owe the public Injun’s medical details. Fans could be sad, cautious about the pace and curious about Hyowon without turning any of those feelings into a diagnosis or conspiracy. Boundaries are not corporate fog when the missing information is somebody’s health record.
What happened after the switch matters more than the announcement cycle
Hyowon did not remain “the replacement member.” The group toured, released “Replay,” built the STILL : I era around “Still Rose,” appeared at Seoul Fashion Week and continued the seasonal project in July 2026. That continued work is the proof that the new lineup became a functioning chapter. A Tea file should follow consequences, not freeze forever on the day fandom panicked.

Seventeen days is enough for an announcement, not an explanation
The public sequence is unusually compressed. Injun’s health situation had already interrupted participation, his exit closed the original six-member chapter and Hyowon’s introduction followed seventeen days later. A company can complete internal discussions before a public notice, so the gap does not prove that Hyowon was recruited, trained and contracted in seventeen days. It proves only that fans received seventeen days between two major status announcements.
That distinction matters because a short public timeline invites theories. Some fans will assume the replacement was planned before the exit. Others will imagine an emergency audition. Neither claim is established by the announcement dates alone. New Ways could have reduced speculation by explaining the effective lineup schedule, confirming which recordings involved which member and publishing translated notices together.
Health privacy and public continuity are different duties
Injun did not owe the audience private medical detail. The company still owed the audience a usable group-status record. Those duties are often confused, as if asking which member appears on a release requires demanding a diagnosis. It does not. A notice can protect health privacy while stating whether activities are paused, which schedules are affected and when another update should be expected.
The same principle protects Hyowon. He should not have to disclose backstage negotiations to prove that his place is legitimate. His current work establishes participation. DON’T MOVE and the later five-member releases belong to him because he performed them. Original-six material belongs to Injun because he performed it. The archive can hold that clean boundary without making either man defend the company timetable.
What the handoff got right and wrong
Introducing Hyowon quickly prevented months of ambiguous “temporary five” language and gave the current group a clear name list. That clarity was useful. The weakness was context. International fans needed a translated timeline, a maintained discography divided by lineup and enough lead time to understand that DON’T MOVE would function as a genuine new chapter rather than a replacement exercise.
The performers did the repair onstage. Karam, Jay, Reon and Kyle made space without treating the newcomer as an apology; Hyowon entered with confidence shaped by JWiiver history and completed military service. The result works. That success should not retroactively excuse thin communication. Good performance and better administration can be demanded at the same time.
Bottom line
ASC2NT rebuilt quickly and musically. New Ways communicated the essential facts but left too much of the bridge for fans to assemble. Injun deserves an accurate original-member record without medical speculation. Hyowon deserves a current-member record that begins with his own work, not a permanent replacement label. Seventeen days is the timeline; it is not the whole story.
