NCT WISH Profile: Members, Music, History and Facts
NCT WISH is the six-member Japanese and Korean unit of the wider NCT Umbrella Project. Sion, Riku, Yushi, Jaehee, Ryo and Sakuya were assembled through NCT Universe: LASTART, introduced first as NCT NEW TEAM, and officially debuted in February 2024. Their job is not to be miniature NCT 127 or DREAM with brighter clothes. WISH built its own lane from youthful pop, bilingual releases, extremely busy choreography and the glossy “neo” details that keep the sweetness from becoming anonymous.

Formation, LASTART and debut
NCT WISH came from NCT Universe: LASTART, the project designed to choose the last new team in NCT’s original expansion system. The selected trainees began public activities as NCT NEW TEAM and released “Hands Up” and “We Go!” in 2023. Those recordings matter because they are the same six-member act in its pre-debut phase, not a separate group that disappeared into the filing cabinet.
The WISH name was announced before the formal debut. Their first official stage arrived at SMTOWN LIVE in Tokyo on February 21, 2024, followed by the Japanese single “WISH” on February 28. The debut established a two-language release strategy and the group’s “WISH for Our WISH” framing: music about beginnings, connection, encouragement and moving forward together.
Music and eras
Hands Up and WISH: learning the shape of the group
“Hands Up” already contained the basic contradiction that makes WISH work: school-age brightness over production that keeps inserting sharper rhythmic corners. “WISH” cleaned that formula into a formal debut and gave the members a recognizable visual world of white, green and soft-focus optimism.
Songbird and Steady: brightness with machinery underneath
“Songbird” pushed their melodic identity while Steady gave them a fuller mini-album frame. “Steady” is cute on the surface, but the tiny electronic interruptions and switch-ups are what stop it from becoming generic. This is WISH’s best trick. They sound approachable without sanding off every NCT fingerprint.
poppop and COLOR: commercial growth
The 2025 poppop era became a major growth point, including million-selling momentum and music-show wins. COLOR widened the palette without throwing away the group’s youth concept. The performances became more confident, the camera work more individual, and the lineup finally looked less like contestants who had survived a show and more like a unit with shared instincts.
WISHLIST and the 2026 run
The Japanese WISHLIST release and 2026 songs including “Sticky,” “Ode to Love,” “BOY MEETS GIRL” and “YO-I-DON!” continued the dual-market structure. The songs do not all use the same amount of sugar, but they preserve the group’s central idea: movement, emotional immediacy and a future that feels close enough to reach.
How NCT WISH fits inside NCT
NCT is the umbrella project, not one giant fixed lineup that performs every song. NCT WISH has its own roster, discography and tracker. Songs credited to NCT WISH stay here. Project tracks credited simply to NCT belong on the NCT music profile, while rotational NCT U releases belong to NCT U. The hub explains the architecture and links the units without dumping every video into one unusable tracker.
