Before XG

Before XG, JURIN was a competitive snowboarder with Olympic ambitions and worked as a fashion model. That history explains more than a cute pre-debut fact. Snowboarding trained balance, nerve, and control at speed. Modeling taught her how to make a silhouette read before she ever became the leader of a group obsessed with fashion.

The road to debut

She entered the long XGALX training process and helped hold together a lineup that spent years preparing away from public view. Vogue Japan described the members as moving toward the same goal despite radically different starting points. JURIN’s job was never merely to stand in the middle. She had to make seven ambitious performers feel like one act.

XG debuted with “Tippy Toes” on March 18, 2022. The group is Japanese, based in South Korea, and deliberately works across markets rather than pretending nationality disappears when the chorus is in English.
