What actually happened
ILLIT’s second Japanese single “I Got Your Back” features JISOO and MOMOKA from Japanese group HANA. Both guests also participated in the lyrics. The Japanese release arrived digitally on July 26, 2026, with the physical single scheduled for July 29 and a Korean version included as a CD-first track.
Why these two members?
The agencies have not published a dramatic casting diary, but the musical logic is sitting in the song. JISOO gives ILLIT’s lighter blend a darker vocal center. MOMOKA supplies rhythmic attack and a rap texture the group does not normally use. HANA’s overall image is tougher and more individually abrasive than ILLIT’s, so the feature creates contrast without forcing either group to pretend it has changed genres.
The comment-section confusion was immediate
Two naming problems arrived before the first chorus finished. HANA’s JISOO is not BLACKPINK’s Jisoo. HANA’s MOMOKA is not ILLIT’s MOKA wearing a longer name tag. Add Moka’s health pause and visible appearance in the video, and fans were simultaneously celebrating Moka, discovering Momoka, and explaining JISOO in three different capitalization systems.
The real “tea”: HANA won the discovery funnel
The most consistent fan reaction was not scandal. It was conversion. Viewers praised JISOO’s distinct tone, MOMOKA’s rap, and the fact that the feature felt integrated. HANA fans responded by recommending “ROSE,” “Blue Jeans,” “Bad Girl,” and live performances. Multiple commenters said the video made them open HANA’s discography immediately.
That is the collaboration win labels claim to want but rarely engineer: not two fandoms politely streaming once, but listeners hearing a genuine difference and wanting to investigate it.

This worked because nobody was reduced to decoration. JISOO and MOMOKA got identifiable parts, visual presence, and writing credit. ILLIT kept its magical-girl school-play universe. HANA kept the vocal grain that makes its members useful. The only victim was the bridge, which remains missing and should contact its family.
