HINATA is part of XG’s seven-member lineup with JURIN, CHISA, HARVEY, JURIA, MAYA and COCONA. XGALX calls XG a global artist group and uses the idea of Xtraordinary Genes to describe people creating beyond inherited categories. The members are Japanese, train and work from South Korea, and release English-language music for an international audience. CVM Sekai includes HINATA in its K-pop-centered directory while retaining the group’s own X-pop and global-group framing.

The least experienced trainee did not stay the least capable

HINATA’s pre-debut story is unusual because she entered the XGALX project without the same performance history as the other six eventual members. In a Vogue Japan interview, she said she had no experience in singing or dancing and did not know the others when lessons began. The gap made her anxious, but it also gave her a simple choice: improve or leave the dream to people who had started earlier.

Her audition began through a nearby dance class. Staff mentioned a small test and asked whether she was interested. After speaking with her mother, HINATA decided to try. The description sounds casual, yet the project that followed demanded years of training in dance, vocals, language and group performance. She had to learn fundamentals while being evaluated beside trainees who already understood studios, choreography and stage competition.

HINATA has credited her competitive nature and the support of the other members with helping her continue. As the seven practiced together, the goal changed from surviving lessons alone to wanting to debut with that specific team. That distinction matters. The group did not simply inherit chemistry at debut; much of it was built while HINATA was learning how to keep up.

Her progress also challenges the way idol profiles freeze people at audition. “No prior experience” describes a starting line, not a permanent position. By the time XG debuted, HINATA could execute detailed choreography and contribute vocal texture inside a highly polished formation. The distance between those points is the relevant achievement.

From Tippy Toes to the first full album

XGALX revealed HINATA during the 2022 member rollout, and XG debuted on March 18 with Tippy Toes. Her part in the restrained single was easy to miss if listeners only counted conventional lines. She supplied the repeated “ta ta ta” vocal figure, a small hook that helped create the song’s whispered tension. It was an early example of how arrangement function can matter more than a seconds ranking.

Mascara followed later in 2022 with a stronger pop structure and a message about refusing to let another person erase one’s confidence. In 2023, Shooting Star and Left Right established XG with a wider international audience. The smooth R&B of Left Right suited HINATA’s lighter tone, while Shooting Star required precise synchronization and the ability to remain visible inside dense styling.

The New DNA era expanded the group’s catalog through GRL GVNG, TGIF, New Dance and Puppet Show. HINATA’s contribution became clearer as XG separated its rap and vocal colors. CHISA and JURIA often carry the largest vocal peaks, while HINATA provides a softer edge, clean connective phrases and harmony color that stops the vocal line from becoming uniform.

In 2024, Woke Up moved all seven members into a rap-centered format, demonstrating that XG’s position labels are flexible. Something Ain’t Right, IYKYK, Howling and the mini album AWE then returned to a broader mixture of dance music, R&B and hip-hop. AWE became XG’s first Billboard 200 entry and gave the group a larger foundation for touring.

XG’s first world tour, The first HOWL, reached 35 cities across 47 performances and drew about 400,000 people. The May 2025 Tokyo Dome finale attracted roughly 50,000 fans. HINATA’s live development was especially visible during this period because tours remove the protection of a single edited performance. Stable entrances, harmony timing and breath management must survive a full show night after night.

A vocal color built through patience

HINATA’s voice is light, smooth and slightly airy without disappearing into the instrumental. It works as a bridge between CHISA’s power and JURIA’s clear melodic lift. In layered sections, HINATA can soften the attack of a harmony or carry a phrase that needs intimacy rather than a dramatic belt. That role is easy to undervalue because it often makes someone else’s line sound complete.

Her improvement is also audible in confidence. Early performances emphasized careful placement; later stages show her opening phrases more decisively and sustaining tone through choreography. She does not need to imitate the group’s strongest belters. The more useful goal is control: clean pitch, a recognizable color and enough breath stability to support XG’s demanding movement.

Dance remains central to that stability. HINATA’s lines are neat rather than oversized, and her calm face prevents choreography from looking frantic. She uses clear shapes, controlled shoulders and efficient transitions. Viewers sometimes describe her movement as effortless, but effortlessness is usually the visible result of repetition.

Soft-spoken does not mean visually cautious

Offstage interviews often present HINATA as calm and quiet, but her fashion interests are more adventurous. In a 2025 NME cover interview, she spoke about loving Lolita fashion. That interest fits a wider visual identity built from detailed styling, delicate silhouettes and the confidence to treat clothing as a form of world-building.

XG’s videos frequently mix futurism, streetwear, archive references and exaggerated beauty work. HINATA can carry ornate looks because she does not compete with every detail. Her posture and expression remain composed, allowing hair, accessories and texture to register. The same restraint that helps her vocal blend also helps her fashion presence.

She is known to enjoy drawing and painting, interests that align with the care she shows for visual detail. Public self-introductions also connect her with novels, anime and subtle colors. Those notes are useful when sourced from official content, but they should not be inflated into private personality diagnoses. A member profile needs enough boundaries to let the artist keep a life outside fan interpretation.

THE CORE, Wembley and the 2026 file

XG released its first full album, THE CORE – 核, on January 23, 2026. The official profile describes the project through identity, creativity and the internal core that remains when outside categories are stripped away. The album became XG’s first release to enter the top 100 of the Billboard 200, extending the group’s chart progress beyond the first appearance achieved by AWE.

The second world tour, XG WORLD TOUR: THE CORE, began in February 2026. For HINATA, the tour represents another test of the skills she once entered training without: live vocal consistency, stamina, multilingual audience communication and the ability to repeat complex choreography without losing musical detail.

On June 6, 2026, XG performed at Capital’s Summertime Ball in London. XGALX’s official profile records the group as the first Japanese artist group to perform at Wembley Stadium. The appearance followed XG’s 2025 Coachella set, where the group closed the Sahara stage. These are group milestones, but each one expands the context in which HINATA’s quiet performance style has to communicate.

As of August 2026, XGALX lists HINATA in the official seven-member profile. There is no departure announcement and no separate solo music debut under her name. Her status is Active member, with 2022–present used for the directory years. Individual fashion or art content belongs here, while XG songs remain connected to both this member profile and the group page.

Japanese and Korean family roots without internet guesswork

HINATA is Japanese and was born in Aichi Prefecture. Public profiles and interviews have also discussed Korean family roots. That background can help explain her comfort working across Japan and South Korea, but it should not become permission to invent citizenship, family histories or language proficiency beyond what she has said publicly.

XG itself resists simple national labeling. The members are Japanese, the company builds the project for a global market, activities are based significantly in South Korea and the songs are primarily in English. HINATA’s profile should make those layers understandable instead of forcing one label to erase the others.

Her story is strongest when kept concrete: she entered with little experience, trained for years, debuted in a seven-member group, developed into a stable vocalist and dancer, and now performs on major international stages. That record already carries more weight than recycled rumors about where she might once have trained.
