HARUTO
TREASURE’s low-voiced rapper grew from the youngest face in a survival-show lineup into a songwriter, a solo-release artist, a HYUNHAYO unit member, and one of the people carrying the group’s 2026 hip-hop chapter.

Active member and solo artist
TREASURE 2020–present
Current status in August 2026
HARUTO remains an active TREASURE member and a credited solo-release artist. His April 2025 track FLASH is the reason his work belongs on both the member and artist shelves, while HYUNHAYO connects him to the group’s current hip-hop unit activity. Those are parallel parts of one career, not grounds for creating a second group profile.
The membership years begin with TREASURE’s official August 7, 2020 debut. Pre-debut appearances on YG Treasure Box belong in the career timeline, but they do not change the directory range. No official notice reviewed through August 2026 announces his departure, so the public card should read Current member · 2020–present.

Early Life, Fukuoka, and the YG Pipeline
HARUTO came to YG Entertainment from Fukuoka, Japan, entering a company whose Japanese fandom and hip-hop mythology were already familiar in his household. The family connection is cute trivia, but it can also flatten the story if it becomes the whole explanation. Admiring BIGBANG did not place him in TREASURE. He still had to train, compete on camera, survive multiple lineup plans, and develop a voice distinct enough to remain recognizable in one of YG’s largest groups.
His deep tone was obvious before debut, but tone alone is not a career. HARUTO had to learn how to control it so a low register did not automatically become slow or heavy. The more interesting part of his development is the way his rhythm became more flexible. He can now use the same voice for a blunt entrance, a lazy swing, or a faster sequence without losing the identity that makes listeners know who arrived.
YG Treasure Box: A Lineup That Refused to Stay Simple
HARUTO competed on YG Treasure Box and became the first member publicly announced for the original TREASURE lineup. The project then changed shape repeatedly: TREASURE and MAGNUM were discussed as separate units, the combined name TREASURE 13 appeared, and the final debut arrived as a twelve-member group. That messy path matters because the current ten-member TREASURE cannot be understood as if it emerged fully formed in 2020.
HARUTO was one of the youngest contestants, yet his vocal color gave him an immediate adult weight inside the rap line. The show proved that he could hold attention. The years afterward had to prove that he could keep growing once the novelty of “the very deep-voiced Japanese teenager” wore off.
TREASURE Career: Twelve Members, Ten Members, and Chapter Two
2020–2021 · The First Step
TREASURE debuted with “BOY” on August 7, 2020 and moved rapidly through The First Step single-album series. The early catalog established the contrast that still defines the group: large YG-style performance tracks on one side and softer, melodic fan songs on the other.
2022–2023 · Reorganization and REBOOT
After MASHIHO and BANG YE DAM left in November 2022, TREASURE continued as ten. REBOOT was more than a dramatic album title; it was a practical redistribution of voices, stage space, credits, and responsibility. HARUTO’s value became clearer because the group needed its remaining rappers to help shape transitions rather than only deliver isolated verses.
2024–2025 · Touring, writing, and “FLASH”
Singles, fan concerts, and the PLEASURE and LOVE PULSE eras expanded the group’s live identity. On April 18, 2025, YG released HARUTO’s self-composed “FLASH,” giving him an official solo music release and confirming that his songwriting could carry an entire track rather than only part of a group arrangement.
2026 · NEW WAV
TREASURE opened what YG described as a second chapter with the all-hip-hop fourth mini album NEW WAV. Its English title track “IF I” placed the ten-member group in a rougher, more focused lane, while the HYUNHAYO unit gave HARUTO, CHOI HYUN SUK, and YOSHI a dedicated rapper showcase.
Solo Artist File: Why “FLASH” Changes His Shelf
“FLASH” is not a fan edit, an unreleased concert clip, or a member cover. YG Entertainment officially released the self-composed track and video on April 18, 2025. That makes HARUTO eligible for CVM Sekai’s Artists shelf while he remains a current member on the Members shelf.
The track strips away TREASURE’s large formation and lets his rap identity stand without nine other voices around it. A minimal beat, camera-shutter motif, quick flow changes, and the confidence of the hook make it feel like a proper individual statement instead of a group song with the other members removed. It also creates a useful benchmark: later solo music can be compared with an actual first release, not a pile of predictions about what fans imagine he might sound like.
NEW WAV, “IF I,” and HYUNHAYO
Released June 1, 2026, NEW WAV is TREASURE’s first mini album built entirely around hip-hop-based tracks. YG reported more than one million pre-orders and described the record as the opening of the group’s second chapter. The album contains “IF I,” “ZOOM ZOOM,” “NALLY-NA (HYUNHAYO),” and “DANGER.”
For HARUTO, “NALLY-NA” is the key side road. The track belongs to HYUNHAYO, the rapper unit made from CHOI HYUN SUK, YOSHI, and HARUTO. A unit song changes the balance of responsibility: there is nowhere to hide behind a huge vocal relay, and each rapper has to create a different texture without breaking the song’s direction.
YG’s June 2026 report explicitly highlighted the trio’s individual rap colors and positioned the unit inside the company’s hip-hop lineage. That corporate framing should not replace listening, but it does confirm that HYUNHAYO is an official unit identity rather than fandom shorthand.
Voice, Flow, Writing, and Stage Identity
The voice
HARUTO’s low register is the immediate signature. His best performances avoid treating that tone like a special effect. He uses consonants, pauses, and speed changes to keep the verse moving instead of sitting heavily on top of the beat.
The writing
Song credits and “FLASH” show a member interested in building rap rather than simply receiving it. His next growth question is not whether he can write; it is how wide a range of moods and structures he can make feel unmistakably his.
The camera
He understands stillness. In a group that frequently performs large choreography, the person who knows when not to overmove can create more impact than the person fighting every count for attention.
The group function
HARUTO is not only a collection of memorable lines. He helps connect vocal sections to heavier rap passages, especially when a TREASURE track needs to change temperature without sounding like two songs glued together.

Zodiac Side Quest: Aries Meets the Wood Monkey
Astrology is a fan rabbit hole, not a scientific diagnosis, but HARUTO’s combination is entertainingly consistent with his public career. Aries stereotypes emphasize directness, competitiveness, and the urge to move first. The Wood Monkey is associated with adaptability, wit, performance instinct, and the ability to learn by watching the room.
Translated into TREASURE language: the signs predict someone willing to jump into the rap before the room gets comfortable, then change the flow once everybody thinks they understand the pattern. It cannot prove his personality, but it does fit the combination of blunt vocal color and increasingly flexible delivery.
