ENHYPEN figured out that lore works best when the music still bites without homework. You can track bloodlines, moon altars, memory loops and the entire DARK MOON mythology. You can also ignore every diagram and watch six men attack a chorus like the rent is due at midnight.
Their real specialty is tension. Desire feels dangerous. Romance has consequences. Growing up looks less like a graduation and more like somebody left the window open during a vampire emergency.
Meet the current members
ENHYPEN debuted with seven members and has promoted as six since Heeseung’s departure in March 2026. BELIFT LAB’s current official profile lists Jungwon, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo and Ni-ki. Former membership is part of the history, not a reason to erase the lineup that now exists.
Jungwon
Leader · vocalist · dancer. A compact center of gravity with catlike eyes, stable stage focus and the deeply unfair ability to look calm while everybody else is being chased through lore.
Jay
Vocalist · performer. Korean American, multilingual and emotionally incapable of doing anything halfway. His rock instincts and guitar interests give the group’s dramatic concepts useful grit.
Jake
Vocalist · performer. Raised in Australia, warm in variety content and increasingly assured onstage. He often makes the group’s supernatural melodrama feel human instead of merely expensive.
Sunghoon
Vocalist · dancer. A former competitive figure skater whose control, line and cool visual presence were basically pre-installed. The “ice prince” label is obvious. His dry humor is the better surprise.
Sunoo
Vocalist · expression specialist. Bright offstage presence, theatrical face control and an instinct for finding the emotional temperature of a camera. Cute is one tool. Unsettling is also available.
Ni-ki
Main dancer · youngest member. Japanese, frighteningly precise and built for choreography that changes direction before your brain catches up. He debuted at fifteen and grew into one of the group’s most commanding stage presences.
ENHYPEN at a glance
What does ENHYPEN mean? Like a hyphen connects words, the members connect with one another, discover new meaning and connect to the world. The name began with seven boys selected through I-LAND. BELIFT LAB’s current wording now describes six different boys connecting and growing together. That edit is small on a profile page and emotionally enormous to anybody who lived through the lineup change.

The choreography
People arrive for vampire visuals and stay because the performance videos expose the machinery. ENHYPEN choreography is full of tight unison, sudden level changes, hand details and formations that treat bodies like moving architecture. “Drunk-Dazed” feels unstable because the dance keeps tilting the party. “Bite Me” uses paired choreography to make seduction look like a ritual. “Sweet Venom” relaxes into groove. “Knife” returns to hard edges.
Ni-ki is the obvious dance monster, but the group’s strength is collective precision. Nobody gets to wander through the haunted mansion at their own tempo.
The concept engine
Vampires, desire and growing pains
The vampire idea could have been a one-era costume. Instead it became a flexible language for hunger, immortality, isolation, temptation and the fear of changing someone you love. That is why the concept survives. The fangs are decoration. The anxiety is adolescent and painfully recognizable.
The DARK MOON webtoon universe expands the story with fictional counterparts and a larger supernatural mythology. The albums still need to function without it, and the best ones do.
The history file
2020: I-LAND built the lineup in public
I-LAND placed trainees inside a competition designed around evaluation, elimination and audience investment. Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo and Ni-ki became the final seven. That origin gave ENGENE a detailed memory of the members before debut, but it also meant every weakness, friendship and ranking anxiety entered the fandom archive before the group released a song.
BORDER : DAY ONE introduced young performers standing between trainee life and an unknown future. “Given-Taken” asked whether success had been given to them or taken through effort. That question was unusually honest for a survival-show debut.
2021: carnival fever and the breakthrough
BORDER : CARNIVAL turned sudden fame into a disorienting party. “Drunk-Dazed” remains one of the cleanest meetings of concept, production and choreography in their catalog. DIMENSION : DILEMMA followed with “Tamed-Dashed,” asking whether desire should be controlled or pursued. ENHYPEN’s titles were already doing more punctuation than some office memos.
2022: manifesto and the sound debate
DIMENSION : ANSWER brought “Blessed-Cursed” and “Polaroid Love.” MANIFESTO : DAY 1 pushed harder with “Future Perfect (Pass the MIC).” The shift toward aggressive chant-heavy production divided listeners. It also proved the group was willing to make an unattractive choice on purpose instead of polishing the same vampire tooth forever.
2023: Bite Me changed the temperature
DARK BLOOD returned desire to the center. “Bite Me” was short, direct and instantly recognizable, with paired choreography that triggered both fascination and an embarrassing protest campaign from a small group of fans upset about female dancers. The dancers stayed. The song became a defining hit. ORANGE BLOOD softened the palette with “Sweet Venom” while keeping the supernatural thread alive.
2024 to 2025: romance, Coachella and bigger stages
ROMANCE : UNTOLD and its repackage stretched the romantic storyline across “XO (Only If You Say Yes)” and “No Doubt.” DESIRE : UNLEASH continued the appetite. ENHYPEN performed at Coachella in 2025, a stage that tested live energy beyond tightly controlled music-show cameras. Years of touring had made the answer less mysterious.
January 2026: THE SIN : VANISH
The seventh mini album told a sequential story about a vampire who wants to transform a loved one, recognizes the danger and chooses escape. “Knife” used trap beats and sharp synths for resolve rather than romance. Narration tracks framed the story in multiple languages, and each member created an individual remix of “Knife.” It was a full seven-member project and became Heeseung’s final ENHYPEN release.
March 2026 onward: six members and an unavoidable reset
BELIFT LAB announced that Heeseung would leave the group to pursue a distinct solo direction while remaining with the company as an artist. ENHYPEN continued as six. The announcement arrived after a commercially strong album and before major schedules, which made the timing feel abrupt even without inventing a secret explanation.
The first six-member comeback was announced for August 2026. This is the real test of the new chapter. Line distribution, choreography, vocal texture and group identity all have to be rebuilt in public.
About the departure
The official fact is simple: Heeseung left ENHYPEN after discussions about his individual musical direction. The surrounding internet theories are not facts. Fans noticed changes, questioned the timing and tried to reverse-engineer private negotiations from line distribution and body language. That reaction is understandable. Certainty is not available just because speculation arrives in a confident font.
Former member
Heeseung / EVAN
Member from debut through March 2026. Heeseung was a central vocalist and all-rounder across the group’s seven-member era. His voice carried many choruses and bridges, and he participated in the production of his personal “Knife” remix. His final group project was THE SIN : VANISH.
BELIFT LAB stated that he would prepare a solo album under the agency. He belongs at the end of the member history as a former member, not deleted from the years he helped build.

Song first
“Knife” is a hip-hop-driven refusal song. The beat is blunt, the synths are metallic and the hook values impact over melodic sprawl. Inside the album story, the escape is protective. The vampire does not run because desire disappeared. He runs because desire has become dangerous.
That gives the aggression a purpose. The weakness is repetition. If the central hook does not grab you, the song does not offer much softness to negotiate with.
Then the video
The barbershop setting turns transformation into grooming, control and identity construction. Sharp objects are everywhere without needing a literal stabbing plot. The camera loves close formation work and sudden facial shifts. ENHYPEN looks less like victims of the supernatural story and more like employees who have finally unionized against destiny.

ENGENE
The name combines “engine,” because fans help the group move and grow, with “gene,” because ENHYPEN and its fans share a connection. It sounds like a laboratory made a light stick. It works.
Common language: OT6 refers to the current lineup. OT7 refers to the debut lineup or support for all original members, depending on context. Those terms can describe genuine attachment and can also start a fight before breakfast.

Current status
ENHYPEN is an active six-member group. THE SIN : VANISH closed the seven-member era in January 2026. Heeseung departed in March. The remaining members continued the BLOOD SAGA tour and prepared their first six-member comeback for August. The vampire story survived. The formation changed. Now the music has to prove what the new shape can do.
