JUNGWON Said ENHYPEN Is Six, Because Apparently the Fanchant Needed a Court Ruling

Four months after HEESEUNG left the group, JUNGWON finally said the sentence some fans had spent an impressive amount of energy refusing to hear: ENHYPEN is six members now.

The quick pour

What happened: During a July 9 Weverse Live, JUNGWON addressed the continuing fight over six-member and seven-member support.

What he said: He respected people who loved the former lineup, but made the current reality clear. ENHYPEN is six.

What this was not: An attack on EVAN. It was a request to stop using the old lineup as a weapon against the people currently standing onstage.

Why did the leader have to say this?

BELIFT LAB had already issued an official notice on March 10. HEESEUNG left ENHYPEN to pursue solo work. The group continued with JUNGWON, JAY, JAKE, SUNGHOON, SUNOO, and NI-KI. The roster was public. The promotions were public. The new recordings were public.

And yet, parts of the fandom kept treating the six-member era like an administrative error that could be corrected by shouting louder.

Old fanchants continued at events. Comments about the previous lineup followed members into livestreams and birthday spaces. Some fans framed support for six as disloyalty to HEESEUNG, while others treated any affection for the old lineup as an insult. The fandom managed to turn basic counting into a civil war.

What JUNGWON actually addressed

According to the July 9 coverage and translations of the Weverse Live, JUNGWON acknowledged that many people still loved the group’s former shape. He understood that. Then he explained that the members had not stated the number clearly enough before, which allowed the argument to keep breathing.

So he stated it. The current ENHYPEN is six.

He also pushed back against fans who kept stirring conflict while claiming to act for the members. That distinction matters. Missing a lineup is a feeling. Harassing the current members over it is a choice.

The part fans keep flattening

HEESEUNG did not disappear. He became EVAN and launched solo music. ENHYPEN did not dissolve. The remaining six released new work and continued as a group.

Those are two careers moving forward, not two sides of a custody battle. Fans are allowed to follow both. The artists appear to be asking for exactly that much emotional maturity.

Why the statement landed so hard

Idol leaders are trained to cushion every difficult sentence until it could safely land on a cloud. JUNGWON was still considerate, but he was direct enough that nobody could honestly call the lineup ambiguous afterward.

That directness is why the moment spread. Fans had spent months arguing over hints, facial expressions, stage spacing, and what somebody did or did not say during a livestream. JUNGWON removed the detective board from the wall.

The RaeRae take

I love nostalgia. I can romanticize an old lineup with the best of them. But nostalgia should not be allowed to walk into the current members’ workplace, grab the microphone, and demand a recount.

ENHYPEN’s seven-member history is real. So is EVAN’s solo career. So is the six-member group making music right now. None of those facts need to eat the others.

If your support requires the artists to deny their own present, it is no longer support. It is fandom wearing a tiny judge wig.

Keep digging
