Before the monster name
Rami was not dropped into a vocal booth fully formed. She worked as a child model from around age two, which explains why cameras never seemed completely foreign to her, but modeling is not vocal training. The singer fans recognize came through years of lessons, evaluations and the very public pressure cooker YG used to introduce BABYMONSTER.
YG revealed her as Haram in January 2023. The pre-debut material made the label’s argument quickly: this was the member to watch when a song needed texture instead of only volume. YG repeated in June 2025 that promotions would continue with six members because Rami still needed ample recovery time. BABYMONSTER’s 2026 releases and current tour activity have continued as six. As of August 9, 2026, there is no confirmed official return date on YG’s English or Korean BABYMONSTER notices.
