Gong YuBin

Status: Active tripleS memberYears active: 2023-present

Before tripleS gave Gong YuBin an S-number, a fan-voted Dimension, and twenty-three roommates, Korean television already knew her as a child cook. She went from finishing near the top of I Am Chef to becoming one of tripleS’s earliest and most frequently deployed all-rounders.

The child-cooking-show chapter

YuBin was born in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. Her first substantial television credit was not a survival show for idols. At twelve, she competed on TV Chosun’s junior cooking program I Am Chef and reached the final group. MODHAUS’s official profile records her as the runner-up, while later fan summaries often describe her as Top 3. Either way, she was not eliminated while trying to identify salt.

The cooking background remains part of tripleS content because it is an actual skill rather than filler trivia. YuBin is especially associated with rolled omelets and has cooked for members on camera. It also explains some of her variety instincts. A child who has already worked under timed television pressure is less likely to freeze because a SIGNAL camera appears in the kitchen.

RaeRae take: tripleS has twenty-four members and somehow the emergency plan for dinner can still be “find S8.”

The trainee years

Before MODHAUS, YuBin trained within the larger Korean agency system. Profiles and her own later accounts connect her to Source Music and to trainees who would debut elsewhere. That history should be handled carefully because fandom retellings often merge HYBE, Source Music, and JYP into one blurry pre-debut rumor. The durable point is that she spent years in training before tripleS and arrived with both vocal and dance preparation.

Apink inspired her interest in becoming an idol. The influence makes sense for someone whose strengths are balanced rather than built around one extreme specialty. Apink’s career depended on members who could hold formations, deliver melodic pop cleanly, and maintain a recognizable group personality across concept changes.

YuBin also developed acting and craft hobbies, including needle felting. Those details sound random until you watch tripleS’s near-daily content model. The group needs members who can fill ordinary screen time without waiting for a comeback showcase to become interesting.

Becoming S8

MODHAUS introduced YuBin as tripleS member S8 in September 2022. The S-number matters because tripleS was not revealed as a conventional completed lineup. Members entered the HAUS one at a time while fans learned the group’s rotating Dimension system, digital objekts, and Gravity votes.

YuBin joined early enough to experience the system while it was still being explained to the audience. She was part of the first eight-member reveal period and then selected for tripleS’s first official Dimension, Acid Angel from Asia. That placement made her one of the members responsible for proving Jaden Jeong’s “decentralized idol” language could produce an actual record instead of an expensive flowchart.

Acid Angel from Asia debuted with “Generation” and the EP ACCESS in October 2022. The song became one of tripleS’s defining early releases. Its casual, slightly detached performance style suited YuBin’s contrast: cute offstage energy, calmer facial control onstage, and a singing voice lower and rounder than her speaking tone suggests.

Dimension file

Acid Angel from Asia

YuBin joined Jeong HyeRin, Kim YooYeon, and Kim NaKyoung in the first fan-assembled Dimension. “Generation” established the group’s youthful but unsentimental sound. The unit’s promotion also introduced the confusing rule that a Dimension might stop releasing albums after failing a sales target without the members literally leaving tripleS. MODHAUS later clarified that “disbandment” did not work in the usual way inside the group’s system.

LOVElution

In 2023, fans placed YuBin in the eight-member LOVElution lineup for and “Girls’ Capitalism.” The unit toured the United States, giving her early international-stage experience. In interviews, the members framed the title track around self-worth and refusing social pressure. YuBin’s own recommended tracks included “Black Soul Dress” and “Girls’ Capitalism,” while “Cry Baby” became a favorite.

ASSEMBLE24 and Visionary Vision

When all twenty-four members finally assembled for “Girls Never Die” in 2024, YuBin moved from early-member familiarity into one face inside K-pop’s largest active girl-group lineup. She also joined Visionary Vision, the dance-focused twelve-member Dimension behind Performante. That selection matters more than an unofficial “lead dancer” label because the unit itself was built around performance.

Voice, dance, and camera work

YuBin’s singing voice is warmer and more grounded than her speaking voice. In a twenty-four-member catalog, recognizable tone matters because line distribution can become speed dating. She works well in tripleS’s lower-key pop, where a line needs personality without a dramatic belt.

As a dancer, she is clean, rhythmically reliable, and good at making choreography look lived-in rather than counted. “Rising” and the Visionary Vision material show the difference. The former asks for synchronized full-group propulsion. The latter gives dance-line members more space to show attack and control.

Start withWhy
“Generation”Her first unit debut and the foundation of tripleS’s public identity.
“Rising”Shows how she functions inside a larger full-group formation.
“Girls’ Capitalism”LOVElution’s bright, self-aware concept and her first U.S. tour era.
“Girls Never Die”The twenty-four-member test: remain identifiable without fighting the formation.
Visionary VisionThe clearest evidence for her dance-line reputation.

The personality file

YuBin is direct, practical, and funny in a way that does not always announce itself. Early tripleS content leaned on the contrast between her composed visual and the member willing to complain when a camera crew interrupts dinner. Fans use nicknames such as Gong Yubam and Kkong-yub, but S8 remains the easiest database answer.

She likes winter more than summer, dislikes carrots despite the cooking résumé, and has a long-running interest in characters with oversized faces. She also holds a jump-rope certificate, which is exactly the kind of Korean after-school accomplishment that sounds fake until a member demonstrates it.

Her role in tripleS is partly historical. Later members entered a system already validated by “Generation,” “Rising,” sales, tours, and a growing fandom. YuBin was there when the group still had to convince viewers that an idol could be both a permanent member and repeatedly reassigned to fan-voted units without the structure collapsing.

The fandom is WAV. Because tripleS uses official member numbers, Dimensions, and Gravity voting, this profile treats unit history as part of the biography rather than a separate discography footnote.

MODHAUS introduced YuBin as S8 on September 9, 2022. The reveal is the cleanest official starting point for her tripleS chronology.

An official longer-form member video that lets her personality carry the frame without reducing her to a line-distribution statistic.

Solo-artist check: YuBin is routed as a tripleS member, not a solo artist. She does not receive an Artist shelf card unless she officially releases music under her own name.

Zodiac side quest: Aquarius meets the Wood Monkey

YuBin was born on February 3, 2005, which places her under Aquarius in the Western zodiac and the Wood Monkey in the Chinese zodiac. This is the fun fandom rabbit hole, not a scientific diagnosis or permission to flatten a real person into a birthday meme.

The Aquarius file: fan astrology usually assigns Aquarius independence, unconventional thinking, friendliness with a slightly private center, and a tendency to resist being boxed into the obvious role. That description is amusing beside YuBin’s tripleS career. She entered one of K-pop’s least conventional group structures, moved through fan-voted Dimensions, and remained recognizable without demanding a permanent center position.

The Wood Monkey file: Monkey years are associated with adaptability, wit, curiosity and quick problem-solving. The Wood element softens the stereotype toward cooperation and steady growth. That combination sounds suspiciously useful for a woman who can move from timed cooking television to idol training, from a four-member unit to a twenty-four-member group, and from ordinary SIGNAL content to a dance-focused Dimension without looking like she needs a software update.

Where the signs overlap: both systems emphasize flexibility and an independent mind. Fans may recognize that in YuBin’s calm camera work, practical competence and willingness to be funny without turning every moment into a performance. The signs do not explain her work ethic; years of training do. They are simply a playful way to notice the same pattern from another angle.

2026: LOVE & POP and another full-team test

tripleS returned as a complete twenty-four-member group on June 1, 2026 with ASSEMBLE26 LOVE & POP Part 1 and the title track “Baby Flower.” The release matters for YuBin because tripleS alternates between Dimensions and full-team assemblies. Every full-group comeback tests whether a member can remain visually and musically legible inside one of K-pop’s largest active lineups.

“Baby Flower” placed the group in a hopeful pop setting rather than simply repeating Visionary Vision’s harder performance identity. YuBin’s experience across Acid Angel from Asia, LOVElution, Visionary Vision, and full-team albums makes her one of the members best equipped for those shifts. She understands that the correct performance scale changes with the unit: sharper individual definition in a four-member formation, wider spatial awareness in twelve, and efficient camera communication in twenty-four.

The album earned a music-show win on Show Champion in June 2026. MODHAUS and the official tripleS site continue to list YuBin as S8, and there is no announced hiatus or departure. Her status is therefore active. Her official group debut year is 2023, while her first Dimension debut with Acid Angel from Asia occurred in 2022; both dates belong in the biography, but the directory card follows the full group’s official 2023 debut.

YouTube tracking history

CVM Sekai tracks the official tripleS channel for full-group releases, Dimension music videos, SIGNAL episodes, performance films, dance practices, and clearly labeled YuBin content. The same group or Dimension release may be attached to the relevant group page and this canonical member profile, but member appearances alone do not create an Artist classification without a formal solo music career.
