2026 profile refresh

Seungmin is documented here as vocalist, member and Artist. This refresh connects the current release “FARMING” to the existing career file without replacing older eras or manufacturing a second biography. The canonical-page rule matters: a comeback changes the chronology, not the identity of the person or group that released it.

What changed with this release

“FARMING” is now part of the official-video tracker and static React card system. The exact upload is preserved, so viewers do not land on a teaser, mirrored playlist item or unrelated performance. The profile explains the career context; the dedicated React handles the close visual and musical reading.

How to read the current era

Stray Kids has enough history that “current” should never mean “only the newest thumbnail.” Styling, distribution, credits and live performance can shift between releases. This file keeps those changes in sequence and distinguishes confirmed credits from interpretation, because confident fan repetition is not the same thing as an official record.

Member and Artist routing

One human receives one canonical page. If Seungmin has verified independent original music, this profile can appear under both member and Artist discovery without being cloned. Covers, special stages and group lines are still worth archiving, but they do not automatically create a separate solo career or a duplicate search result.

Image-card standard

The image below is a static card, not an infinite carousel. It uses the same local WordPress attachment as the React’s featured, hero, Open Graph and Twitter image. The card may appear on multiple relevant landing pages, but that attachment is never reused as the featured image of another post.

International discovery path

Start with the official artist and company channels, then verify schedules and status through durable notices. Exact video IDs are recorded beside the work. That source-first path makes the catalog usable outside Korea, where algorithmic feeds often surface clips quickly but hide the release chronology and member context.

What the tracker includes

Official music videos, special clips and clearly labeled performance films can all appear in the tracker, but their formats stay visible. A special clip is not renamed an official MV, and a collaboration is filed under every real credited artist without pretending a game or brand is a K-pop group.

RaeRae take

The useful excitement is specific. “FARMING” earned a place here because something in its beat, concept, delivery or chemistry made replay feel necessary. The profile does not flatten that reaction into generic praise; it gives the React room to argue with the details while this page protects the factual spine.

What to watch next

Watch the official credits, live-stage changes, member handoffs and whether the next release expands the identity or repeats its easiest signal. Future updates will attach exact uploads and verified status changes here, keeping the archive readable instead of scattering one career across disconnected pages.

Early life, Los Angeles, and the JYP audition

Seungmin was born and raised in Seoul. He spent several months in Los Angeles as a child, which contributed to his comfort with English, then returned to South Korea for school. He attended Cheongdam High School and entered JYP Entertainment after placing second in the company’s 13th Open Audition in 2017.

His trainee period was shorter than the years logged by Bang Chan, but he arrived with the temperament of someone willing to repeat a task until it improved. On the Stray Kids survival show, Seungmin was not sold through one dramatic transformation. His strength was steadiness. He listened, corrected, practiced, and kept his place in the debut lineup.

Stray Kids debuted in March 2018. The group’s early identity leaned heavily on rap, EDM, and performance pressure, which meant a clean vocal line could disappear behind the loudest talking points. Seungmin gradually became harder to overlook because he kept strengthening the instrument while the group’s songs became more demanding.

Building the voice instead of declaring it finished

Seungmin’s voice has a bright, slightly grainy edge that stays recognizable even when he changes genre. He is not a singer who relies on one pretty color. He studies breath, placement, diction, resonance, and how to preserve tone through live schedules. He continued seeking vocal coaching after debut, including training connected to respected teachers, because “main vocalist” is a job description, not a graduation certificate.

His improvement is easiest to hear chronologically. Early recordings sometimes place the sound forward and nasal. Later performances open the tone, stabilize the upper range, and give him more dynamic choice. He can now move from a restrained verse into a rock chorus without treating volume as the only emotional tool.

The Kingdom: Legendary War performance of IU’s “Love Poem” with BTOB’s Eunkwang and ATEEZ’s Jongho was a major public receipt. Seungmin stood between two famously powerful vocalists and did not disappear. The performance emphasized blend, emotional pacing, and individual tone rather than turning three singers into a high-note cage match.

His real specialty is reliability under imperfect conditions. Concerts involve movement, travel, illness, in-ear problems, altered arrangements, and fatigue. Seungmin’s job is often to make the melodic structure feel safer than the circumstances are.

Inside Stray Kids: melody inside the machinery

Stray Kids production can be dense. Seungmin’s tone cuts through without competing with Changbin’s rasp, Han’s elastic delivery, Felix’s low register, or Bang Chan’s anchoring voice. He often carries pre-choruses, bridges, and climactic lines where the track needs lift rather than another rhythmic attack.

Listen across “Neverending Story,” “Levanter,” “Blueprint,” “Secret Secret,” “Waiting for Us,” “Cover Me,” “Leave,” and “Scars.” The group is not emotionally convincing only when the rappers confess over dark synths. Seungmin helps give the catalog its melodic memory.

VocalRACHA traditionally grouped Seungmin with I.N, and earlier with former member Woojin. The current Seungmin and I.N pairing works because their tones differ. Seungmin brings clean projection and controlled grain. I.N brings a narrower, distinctive color influenced by trot. Their harmonies keep the vocal unit from becoming one polished voice copied twice.

OSTs and solo songs

“Here Always”: Seungmin’s first solo drama OST, released in 2021 for Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha. The acoustic ballad became an important solo marker because viewers heard the voice outside Stray Kids’ production and searched for the singer.

“Close to You”: Released for Love in Contract in 2022. It continued the OST path with a warmer romantic arrangement.

“Phobia”: A 2024 webtoon OST for I’m the Queen in This Life. It gives him a more forceful rock-pop frame and should not be confused with Stray Kids’ separate song also titled “Phobia.” Apparently one phobia was not enough for the filing system.

“Stars and Raindrops”: His original solo on SKZ-Replay. Seungmin participated in the lyrics and composition with Hong Ji-sang. The song uses seasonal imagery and memory without burying the melody under literary decorations.

“Hold On”: Written by Han for Seungmin, inspired by grief after losing a pet. Han understood that Seungmin could keep the performance tender without making it emotionally vague.

“As We Are”: His 2024 solo on HOP. It is a large, earnest band song built for concert catharsis and the specific emotional danger of thousands of STAY singing back.

“CINEMA” with Lee Know: Released on Mixtape: Dominate in 2025. Their tones meet beautifully because neither tries to overpower the sentimental arrangement. The video’s small-stage imagery turns the duet into a thank-you note without printing “THIS IS A THANK-YOU NOTE” across everybody’s forehead.

“Respirator” with Han: A duet that pairs Han’s confessional writing instincts with Seungmin’s controlled emotional delivery. Their musical friendship is underrated because fandom is often busy turning every pairing into comedy first.

SONG by: the cover series that functions like a vocal diary

Seungmin created the “SONG by” series to share covers and stripped performances. It gives listeners something official profiles usually fail to document: taste. The songs he chooses reveal the singers he studies, the moods he returns to, and the areas where he wants to test his voice.

His DAY6 covers are especially important. Seungmin has long admired DAY6 and has cited the band as an influence. Rock phrasing suits the grain in his tone, while acoustic arrangements expose whether breath and pitch remain stable without production armor.

The series includes material associated with artists such as DAY6, IU, and other vocalists whose music depends on phrasing rather than choreography. It also lets fans hear how Seungmin approaches a song after years of additional training. A repeated or revisited song is not redundant when the instrument has changed.

The baseball file, because this is not optional trivia

Before concentrating fully on singing, Seungmin dreamed of becoming a baseball player. He is a longtime fan, follows the sport seriously, and supports the Lotte Giants. A scheduled ceremonial first pitch for Lotte in 2023 was canceled because of rain, which was a tiny personal tragedy packaged as weather.

In March 2024, he finally took the mound before the exhibition game between Team Korea and the Los Angeles Dodgers during the MLB Seoul Series. He wore Team Korea’s uniform and delivered a proper pitch instead of floating the ball toward the plate for a cute photo. The Dodgers later shared images from the event. The baseball child got his receipt.

His interest also appears in content, throwing form, game talk, and the way his entire face changes around the sport. This is the sort of detail a fan profile keeps because it explains the person, not because a birthday-and-blood-type box needed another line.

The polite menace

Seungmin is organized, observant, and disciplined. He is known for keeping a diary even during exhausting schedules. He pays attention to routines and remembers details. None of this prevents him from being one of the group’s most persistent teasers.

His humor is dry and patient. He does not always fight for the loudest moment. He waits for an opening and inserts a sentence that damages the intended mood. Bang Chan is a frequent target. So is anyone showing visible weakness.

The puppy image comes from his expressions and mannerisms, which became PuppyM in SKZOO. The comparison is useful until the puppy begins conducting psychological warfare. Fans learn quickly that cute and harmless are unrelated categories.

He also serves as a practical stabilizer. When schedules become chaotic, Seungmin’s preparation reduces uncertainty. When the group becomes too sentimental, he punctures the moment before everybody drowns in it. When a song needs a reliable live line, he is already standing there.

What shallow profiles miss: Stability is not boring. It is trained. Seungmin’s biography is the accumulation of small technical improvements that eventually became an unmistakable solo voice.

Solo music career

Seungmin established a separately credited solo catalog through commercial drama soundtracks beginning with “Here Always” for Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha in 2021. That independent OST release, rather than member-only tracks inside Stray Kids albums, is why this canonical member profile also appears in Artists.

Catalog decisions that protect this profile

Seungmin is maintained as one canonical member and Artist file. A new song adds an exact upload, a dated credit and a static image card; it does not authorize a duplicate biography. Group work, individual originals, collaborations and performance clips remain distinguishable so a visitor can understand what kind of release they opened before pressing play.

Current status comes from official artist, company or broadcaster sources. Older reporting stays in the chronology when it explains a debut, lineup change or creative credit, but outdated promotional language is not allowed to overwrite the present. When sources disagree, the page keeps the uncertainty visible instead of choosing the most repeated answer.

Why the card and hero rules matter

Each post owns a unique featured attachment, and that same local file supplies its hero, social preview and landing-page card. Relevant hubs may display the card as a link, but they do not claim the attachment as their own featured image. This prevents two articles from becoming visually indistinguishable and keeps media metadata, source credit and SEO attached to the correct story.

Static cards also respect the way this site is meant to browse: a clear finite set of choices rather than an endless horizontal carousel. Contrast has to remain readable on desktop and mobile, especially when a dark purple image or overlay meets pale lavender text. If the title disappears into the art, the design has failed even when the link technically works.
