STRAY KIDS MEMBER + DANCER + RAPPER
Felix
Freckles, sunshine, baked goods, a voice from the basement floor, and enough dance control to prove the “deep voice guy” summary has been lazy for years.

Born: September 15, 2000
From: Sydney, Australia
Group: Stray Kids
Roles: Dancer, rapper, vocalist
Performance unit: DanceRACHA

RaeRae take: Felix looks like a fairy escaped a luxury campaign, learned taekwondo, and swallowed a subwoofer. Then he hands you a brownie and says something so sweet you forget the bass just cracked the furniture.
Sydney, taekwondo, dance, and the Korean name he rarely used
Felix was born and raised in Sydney in a Korean-Australian family. He grew up with an older sister and younger sister and attended school in the Seven Hills area. His English name was the one used daily. His Korean name, Yong-bok, became more familiar after entering Korean entertainment.
He trained in taekwondo for years and earned a black belt, a background visible in his flexibility, kicking control, balance, and comfort learning movement. He also danced before joining JYP, though the idol system would demand an entirely new level of detail.
Felix moved to South Korea in February 2017 after passing a JYP audition. He arrived with very limited Korean. This is the basic fact that explains the earliest footage: he was not unintelligent, blank, or disengaged. He was a teenager processing evaluation instructions, hierarchy, jokes, lyrics, and cameras in a language he was still learning.
One trainee year, one television elimination, and a team refusing to leave him behind
Felix trained for a much shorter period than Bang Chan. When JYP’s Stray Kids survival program began in 2017, his performance potential was obvious but his Korean pronunciation was a serious obstacle. JYP eliminated him during the show after criticizing his language and readiness.
The scene remains painful because the weakness was inseparable from migration. He had crossed countries to join the company only months earlier and was being judged publicly for not mastering Korean quickly enough. Bang Chan, another Australian who understood the adjustment, was devastated. The team continued preparing while hoping the original lineup could be restored.
Felix and Lee Know were returned before the final debut decision. The happy ending does not erase what the format did. It turned a teenager’s language struggle into suspense and made the other members rehearse the possibility that their team could be broken for television.
Stray Kids: from a few unforgettable seconds to a complete performer
Felix debuted with Stray Kids in March 2018. His early line distribution was often limited because Korean fluency, rap technique, and vocal development were still growing. The company and 3RACHA used his deep voice as a signature impact sound.
The most famous example is God’s Menu. Felix enters with “cooking like a chef, I’m a five-star Michelin,” and the timbre changes the entire room. The line helped the song travel through short-form video and reaction culture. Casual viewers who did not know the group knew the voice.
Similar killing parts appear in Victory Song, Side Effects, MIROH, Back Door, MANIAC, CASE 143, S-Class, Megaverse, LALALALA, and later work. 3RACHA learned to deploy the low register at structural turning points, where one phrase could function like a production drop.
That strategy built recognition and created a cage. “Felix has a deep voice” became the only fact repeated in shallow profiles, even as his Korean improved, his dance became more refined, his singing expanded, and his stage responsibilities grew.
He is part of DanceRACHA with Lee Know and Hyunjin. The unit’s Wow and performance work show a dancer whose style is cleaner and more controlled than the soft public personality suggests. Felix can use long lines, sharp hips, grounded steps, and facial contrast without overperforming every count.
The low voice is real. It is also not the only voice.
Felix’s naturally low speaking register gives Stray Kids a tone rare in idol pop. Producers emphasize it with close microphone placement, layered doubles, distortion, and pauses that clear space around the entrance.
The power is partly contrast. A warm, freckled face and gentle speaking manner do not visually prepare new listeners for the sound. Reaction videos built an entire economy around that surprise.
His technique developed after debut. Early lines sometimes relied on a pressed “deep voice effect.” Later recordings use more relaxed resonance, clearer rhythmic diction, breathy singing, and a wider range. Tracks such as Deep end deliberately reveal upper and softer colors.
A very low tone does not automatically make someone the group’s best rapper, and Felix does not need that false claim. Changbin and Han carry more complex technical rap roles. Felix is an impact rapper and texture specialist whose lines often become part of the arrangement itself.
DanceRACHA: control under the sunshine
Felix’s dance benefits from taekwondo training, flexibility, strong core control, and long lines. He can execute explosive choreography while keeping the movement visually clean. His style is less fluidly theatrical than Hyunjin and less groove-centered than Lee Know. It is direct, bright, and camera-aware.
He became more confident with facial performance over time. Early Felix sometimes concentrated visibly on executing the choreography. Later stages show sharper character changes, especially when a concept asks him to switch from warmth to threat inside one close-up.
His center moments are often short because Stray Kids has several strong dancers and eight distinct visual functions. Watch the transitions rather than only the killing part. He stays engaged, finishes lines, and uses his height and limbs to keep formations large.
Deep end, Unfair, unit work, and emotional range
Deep end, released through SKZ-REPLAY, surprised listeners expecting a bass showcase. It is an English-language breakup ballad built around vulnerability, layered vocals, and the feeling of someone changing beyond recognition. Felix wrote and composed the song with collaborators, using the solo to prove he had been listening to every complaint about range and quietly preparing an answer.
Unfair plays with the Beauty and the Beast story from the Beast’s perspective, combining fantasy reference with loneliness and the wish to be loved beyond an intimidating exterior. The concept suits the contradiction attached to Felix: a voice coded as dangerous and a personality repeatedly described as gentle.
His unit work includes DanceRACHA’s Wow, Taste with Lee Know and Hyunjin, and combinations across Stray Kids albums and tours. Taste leans into sensual restraint and gives the dance unit a darker, smoother space than the group’s loudest title tracks.
He has also collaborated outside the group, including a feature on Nayeon’s No Problem. His English phrasing and tonal contrast make him useful in international-facing collaborations, though any future solo catalog will need more than recognizable bass to establish a full musical identity.
Louis Vuitton, UNICEF, baking, and a body that still needs rest
Felix became a Louis Vuitton house ambassador and walked in the brand’s runway show. His fashion appeal combines androgyny, sharp bone structure, freckles, long hair, and an ability to wear delicate or severe styling without looking swallowed by it.
Beauty coverage often emphasizes his freckles because Korean idol styling historically covered features Western audiences later celebrated. Felix has appeared both with and without them visible. Fans can appreciate the freckles without acting as if concealer is a political crime every time a makeup artist uses it.
His philanthropy is substantial. He donated 100 million won to UNICEF in early 2024, becoming one of the youngest members of the UNICEF Honors Club, and supported children in Laos. He later took on additional UNICEF-related advocacy. His public interest in children’s welfare is a repeated pattern, not a one-day photo opportunity.
He is famous inside the fandom for baking brownies and cookies for members and staff. This fact sounds trivial until one remembers the schedule. Baking for people is time, planning, ingredients, cleanup, and a very Australian way of saying affection without making a speech.
In February 2025, Felix suffered an arm fracture after a minor vehicle collision caused him to strike the armrest. He missed a fan meeting performance while recovering. The official explanation mattered because the collision itself was minor, yet the injury was real. Bodies do not consult headlines before deciding how badly an impact lands.
He has also dealt with back issues and other physical strain. Dance skill is not evidence that a performer is indestructible.

Watch Felix move from member spotlight to solo artist
Felix is not filed as an Artist because fans like his voice. He qualifies because he has official solo releases. Unfair is the clearest visual receipt: his own song, his own center of gravity, and a performance built around the contrast between storybook beauty and the darker vocal color that first made casual listeners turn their heads.
Keep going: Read the full Unfair React. Felix also appears with LiSA on ReawakeR, a collaboration that uses his low register as part of the song rather than as a novelty sound effect.

The 2026 file: THIS & THAT and a wider public role
Stray Kids released the mini album THIS & THAT on August 7, 2026 with all eight members, including Felix. JYP’s official teaser archive identifies his concept images, while contemporary release coverage describes the group’s first major 2026 comeback. The release keeps his status current: active member, 2018 to present.
The year also expanded his public work beyond music. Felix was appointed an honorary ambassador for the 140th anniversary of France-Korea diplomatic relations and selected as a face of the Korean government’s 2026 Hanbok Wave. Gong Cha renewed him as a global ambassador, and additional campaigns continued alongside festival and comeback schedules. These credits belong in the public-career file, but they do not replace the music or turn endorsement volume into artistic evaluation.
Performance remains the through-line. The title track again uses his low register as a structural contrast, but the useful watch is still his movement between those headline lines. Felix helps the choreography stay expansive without becoming loose, especially when the arrangement switches quickly between rap, chant, and ensemble sections.
