Before TWICE and the road through Sixteen

Chaeyoung trained at JYP for several years before Sixteen, entering with strong rap instincts and a visual identity that did not fit neatly inside one company mood board. She attended Hanlim Multi Art School with fellow member Tzuyu. Solo debut: LIL FANTASY vol.1

Chaeyoung made her formal solo debut on September 12, 2025, with the full album LIL FANTASY vol.1. The nine-track project includes “SHOOT (Firecracker),” “Avocado,” “Band-Aid,” “GIRL,” “RIBBON,” “Downpour,” “BF,” “Shadow Play” and “My Guitar.” A full album, rather than a single digital experiment, gave her enough room to connect the visual-art, indie-pop and singer-songwriter instincts fans had been watching for years.

The project’s handmade mood is central to its identity. Chaeyoung had already contributed drawings, lyric ideas and personal styling to TWICE-related work, but the solo album let those choices operate as one world. “SHOOT (Firecracker)” provides the clearest pop entrance, while the album cuts move through softer, stranger and more intimate corners. This is why her profile belongs on both the member and solo-artist shelves.

Chaeyoung’s writing history predates the album. Across TWICE releases, she has contributed lyrics to songs including “Precious Love,” “Eye Eye Eyes,” “Missing U,” “Don’t Give Up,” “Young & Wild,” “Strawberry,” “Handle It” and other tracks. The exact credit differs by song, but the long pattern is unmistakable: she gradually turned the notebook inside her group role into an individual catalog.

2025 health pause and 2026 activity

In late 2025, JYP Entertainment announced that Chaeyoung would pause scheduled activities after a vasovagal syncope diagnosis. A temporary health absence should not be rewritten as a departure from TWICE. Official 2026 TWICE materials continue recognizing her as one of the nine members, including her April 23 birthday notice and Japanese fan content.

TWICE’s THIS IS FOR world-tour cycle continued through 2026, with JYP’s investor materials describing the group’s largest 360-degree tour and extensive North American and European scheduling. The official site also announced a Seoul finale. Chaeyoung’s participation could be adjusted around health on individual dates, but her current membership and solo-artist status remain active.

The correct directory line is therefore Current member, 2015 to present. Health reporting should stay tied to official schedule notices, not fan conclusions based on one airport photo or an absent stage.

Rap, vocals and visual authorship

Chaeyoung debuted as TWICE’s main rapper, but the label does not explain her whole musical function. The title describes a small interior world rather than a polished royal universe. Sets and props grew from her own hand-drawn imagery, while the album moved among collaborators with distinct textures, including Gliiico, sokodomo, SUMIN and Jibin of Y2K92. That collaboration list helps explain why the record does not sound like a stack of rejected TWICE singles. It is a curated room where indie-pop looseness, rap instincts, guitar writing and deliberately odd details can sit beside a major-label release plan.

LIL FANTASY vol.1 made the Artist shelf undeniable

Released on September 12, 2025, Chaeyoung’s first full album contains ten tracks. “AVOCADO,” featuring Gliiico, introduced the project’s playful scale before release. The title track “SHOOT (Firecracker)” used a kitschy melody and direct invitation to join the party. “BAND-AID,” “GIRL,” “RIBBONS,” “DOWNPOUR,” “BF,” “Shadow Play” and a new version of “My Guitar” broadened the palette, while “Lonely doll waltz” remained a CD-only piece.

The record also changed the directory logic for Chaeyoung. Individual popularity, a solo stage or a writing credit can justify detailed member coverage, but a dedicated album with its own title track, videos and creative direction makes the solo-artist status explicit. She remains a current TWICE member. The solo profile does not compete with the group archive; it documents the work that cannot be described accurately when nine-person releases are the only frame.
