Before Gen1es
Qiao Yiyu studied art history at the Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts and publicly painted during Great Dance Crew. Her dance base includes hip-hop and swag-oriented styles, giving her a performance identity before CHUANG ASIA. She represented HIJOY on the show. Fans read her as cool, fierce and androgynous; the actual person is quieter, owns two cats and is very capable of being bullied by her own members.
Music, performance and work
She won CHUANG ASIA: Thailand, became Gen1es’ leader and center, and supplied the formation with visual structure from “Lucky Bell” through “VROOM.” The leadership job crossed languages, travel, home agencies and different market expectations. In July 2025 she released “Run My Way” with Flywood while Gen1es was still active. That makes her both a former group member and a solo artist in one canonical profile – not two biographies with the same childhood.
Career map and why it matters
Winning the finale made Qiao Yiyu the public center, but the harder job started after the ranking graphic disappeared. Gen1es was not a normal single-agency team: nine members arrived with different home companies, languages, passports and career expectations. A leader in that setup has to translate mood as much as words, keep rehearsals useful when the schedule is fragmented and make a formation feel unified even when management does not. Her fine-arts training helps explain the way she builds a stage. She treats bodies like shapes inside a frame, uses negative space instead of filling every count and understands that the center can pull focus by becoming still. That same visual logic connects her painting, street dance and solo work. Run My Way matters because it proves the Gen1es ending did not erase the artist underneath the group title. Her next chapter is not a reset; it is the first time the leader, dancer, painter and solo performer can be read as one career instead of separate trivia tabs.
The panda side quest
Watch one Great Dance Crew stage, her CHUANG ASIA focus cameras, “VROOM” and “Run My Way.” Then look at her paintings. The same trait crosses all four: she likes line, balance and controlled impact. Her two cats are the necessary reminder that center gravity does not prevent domestic humiliation.
