Before tripleS

Nien was born in Taipei City, Taiwan. Nien’s Taiwanese from her dad’s side and Vietnamese from her mom’s side. She was on Girls Planet 999. She was eliminated in episode 8 where she ended up ranking C18. Her hobby is watching girl group music videos and watching dramas.

tripleS career

Nien is S13 (BINARY 01) in tripleS, MODHAUS’s rotating 24-member group. The number is reveal order, not a ranking. Members move through full-group releases and smaller Dimensions selected through the Cosmo voting system.

Her recorded unit and debut trail includes LOVElution <ↀ (MUHAN)>.

Girls Planet 999 and pre-debut experience

Before MODHAUS revealed her as Nien, Hsu Nien-tzu competed in Mnet’s Girls Planet 999 in the Chinese contestant group. The program placed her inside rapidly changing teams and required Korean-language performance under ranking pressure. She was eliminated during the competition, but the experience created a public record of her dance, rap, adaptability, and ability to work across languages before tripleS existed.

Her Taiwanese and Vietnamese family background is relevant because tripleS operates internationally and regularly moves between Korean, Japanese, English, and other fan spaces. Multilingual identity is not a substitute for musical skill, but it gives Nien an additional bridge role during interviews and international schedules.

S13 reveal and debut

Nien was introduced in 2023 as S13, the thirteenth revealed member of tripleS. The S-number records arrival order rather than rank or permanent position. Her reveal placed her in the group’s BINARY 01 phase, after the first twelve members had already established the project’s rotating-unit system.

Her first formal Dimension was LOVElution, whose mini album ↀ (MUHAN) and title track “Girls’ Capitalism” combined bright pop presentation with lyrics about self-worth and value. The eight-member unit gave Nien more readable space than a 24-member full-group stage, letting her show conversational rap delivery, rhythmic timing, and a playful camera presence.

LOVElution: “Girls’ Capitalism” remains the clearest starting point for Nien because the arrangement gives individual members distinct handoffs and character moments. Her energy helps keep the satire light without flattening the song into a joke.

ASSEMBLE24: The completion of the 24-member lineup changed the scale of tripleS. In full-group material, Nien’s job includes clean formation work and quick identification: a member may receive fewer seconds, so vocal color, gesture, and transition discipline matter more.

Later Dimensions: tripleS units are selected through the group’s Gravity voting system and can change between projects. Nien’s career therefore cannot be summarized by one fixed subunit. Each Dimension should be treated as part of the same canonical tripleS member history rather than as a separate artist identity.

Rap, performance, and group function

Nien’s rap style favors bounce and personality over an artificially heavy tone. She can make short phrases memorable without fighting the instrumental, which suits tripleS songs that often move rapidly between many voices. Her expressiveness also helps in large formations because she remains engaged even when the center changes several times inside one verse.

The large roster rewards members who can adapt to different concepts and team combinations. Nien’s survival-show background and multilingual experience support that flexibility, while repeated unit work provides the stronger evidence of how her performance continues to develop.
