Before tripleS

Kaede grew up in Toyama, Japan and entered entertainment well before her idol debut. She worked as a child model under Asia Promotion and became an exclusive model for the Japanese children’s fashion magazine ニコ☆プチ (Nico Puchi). That experience gave her years of camera awareness, posing discipline and comfort with concept styling before MODHAUS introduced her to K-pop audiences.

Her selection as a magazine model was highly competitive, and the work placed her in fashion campaigns while she was still young. She also trained in dance. Those two paths meet clearly in tripleS: she understands how a look must read in a still image, but she also knows how to carry its attitude into motion.

MODHAUS revealed Kaede as S9 on November 9, 2022. In the tripleS system, the S number records reveal order rather than rank. Her early SIGNAL episodes introduced a bright, cheerful member whose dynamic dancing contrasted with her soft visual image. She became the group’s first Japanese member and adapted to Korean-language promotions while preparing for the first ten-member group release.

Career timeline

2023: ASSEMBLE and LOVElution

Kaede made her recording debut on February 13, 2023 through tripleS ASSEMBLE, led by “Rising.” The release brought together the first ten revealed members and established the group’s central idea: the lineup can reorganize into fan-selected Dimensions while every member remains part of tripleS.

Later that year, Gravity voting placed Kaede in LOVElution. The eight-member Dimension released the mini album on August 17, 2023 with “Girls’ Capitalism” as its title track. LOVElution also took tripleS overseas through the group’s first United States tour. For Kaede, the unit was an important expansion from large-group formations into a smaller lineup where her dancing and clean performance lines were easier to track.

2024: Aria, the complete 24 and Visionary Vision

Kaede joined Aria, tripleS’ first ballad Dimension, alongside Jiwoo, Chaeyeon, Dahyun and Nien. The unit released Structure of Sadness on January 15, 2024, led by “Door.” Aria showed a different side of her skill set: restrained delivery, blended vocals and emotional pacing rather than choreography-first impact.

On May 8, 2024, all 24 members assembled for ASSEMBLE24 and “Girls Never Die.” The era was the first time the complete lineup promoted together, turning tripleS from a project still revealing members into a finished 24-person group. “Girls Never Die” earned tripleS their first music-show win and became a defining release in the group’s catalog.

Kaede was then selected for Visionary Vision, the dance-centered Dimension known as VV. Its October 2024 album Performante, led by “Hit the Floor,” put the emphasis directly on movement, formation changes and physical precision. Of all her unit placements, VV most explicitly confirmed why Kaede is repeatedly described as one of tripleS’ strongest dancers.

2025: ASSEMBLE25

Kaede returned with the full group for ASSEMBLE25, released May 12, 2025 with “Are You Alive” as the title track. The comeback followed the group’s first complete-lineup breakthrough and extended the story of young people choosing motion even when the world feels unstable. Official MODHAUS material documented the 24-member showcase, music-video production and the era’s two music-show wins.

2026: LOVE&POP

tripleS continued its annual full-group cycle in 2026 with ASSEMBLE26 LOVE&POP pt.1 and the title track “Baby Flower.” The project used several location-based member teams inside a larger group production. Kaede remained an active member of the 24-person lineup as tripleS entered another year of albums, stage work and Dimension activity.

Dimensions and recorded units

Kaede’s group history cannot be reduced to one subunit because Dimensions are designed to change. Her documented major assignments include LOVElution, Aria and Visionary Vision, alongside the full-group ASSEMBLE releases. LOVElution foregrounded polished pop performance, Aria tested vocal restraint, and Visionary Vision made dance the central language.

This is also why Kaede does not belong on the solo-artist carousel. Unit songs, member covers and performance clips are part of her group career unless MODHAUS formally releases an individual music catalog under her name. Her canonical page therefore remains a member profile only.

Performance style and place in tripleS

Kaede dances with a useful combination of speed and finish. She can reach a position quickly without making the transition look rushed, then hold the final shape long enough for a large formation to read. In a 24-member group, that reliability is not background labor. It is part of what prevents the stage from becoming visual noise.

Her modeling experience also shows in facial control and silhouette. She can switch from the conversational brightness of “Girls’ Capitalism” to the harder attack of “Hit the Floor” without losing clarity. Vocally, Aria gave her a chance to work in a softer register and showed that her value is broader than dance ranking alone.

Offstage content usually presents her as cheerful and approachable. The contrast between that personality and her focused stage presence has become one of her most recognizable charms. Fans also associate her with strawberry ice cream, an affection for IU and the quiet determination required to build a career outside her home country.

Fandom guide

tripleS fans are called WAV. The official Cosmo app connects fans to digital photo cards called Objekts. Fans can use COMO obtained through Objekts to vote in Gravity events, which help determine Dimensions, concepts and other group decisions. Kaede’s S9 label is permanent identification within that system, even when her active Dimension changes.

For new listeners, a compact Kaede route is “Rising” for her group debut, “Girls’ Capitalism” for LOVElution, “Door” for Aria, “Girls Never Die” for the complete 24-member group, “Hit the Floor” for Visionary Vision, “Are You Alive” for ASSEMBLE25 and “Baby Flower” for the 2026 full-group chapter.
