Career
SM Rookies and debut
Jaemin entered SM Entertainment’s trainee system and appeared through SM Rookies before debuting with NCT DREAM in 2016. The debut presented the members as youth itself, but the more interesting story is how Jaemin’s performance identity changed as the group outgrew that frame.
Health hiatus and return
He paused activities for health treatment during the early DREAM years and returned in 2018. That absence is part of the career record, not evidence of departure. From “GO” and “We Go Up” forward, his low delivery, visual timing and controlled swagger became central to the group’s more mature performance language.

Jaemin remained part of the fixed seven-member DREAM configuration after SM abolished the graduation system. He appears across the group’s major full-team eras, including Hot Sauce, Hello Future, Glitch Mode, Beatbox, ISTJ, DREAM( )SCAPE and later releases.
Performance and voice
Jaemin’s rap delivery often sits behind the beat, using weight and attitude instead of speed.
