RaeRae’s connective tissue · the full city siege
Apollo does not challenge Bell. He manufactures the legal right to possess him.
Volume 6 moves the franchise out of the Dungeon without lowering the danger. Apollo cannot simply announce that he wants Bell and expect Orario’s customs to hand over another god’s child. He needs a grievance, witnesses, public pressure and a game whose terms make theft look ceremonial. The Hibachitei insult is bait. Welf’s kick is the reaction Apollo purchased. Everything afterward is an acquisition strategy dressed in divine pride.
Phase one · provocation
Luan performs the insult; Hyacinthus performs the injury
Apollo Familia arrives at Hibachitei with a grievance already scripted. Luan’s words pull Welf into the brawl. Hyacinthus escalates the damage and makes the retaliation visible enough to support Apollo’s demand. The trap works because its pieces look like spontaneous offense, wounded honor and reasonable outrage when viewed separately.
Bell’s rising fame is the asset underneath the theater. Apollo wants the boy whose public legend has become impossible to ignore.
Phase two · one dance
The Celebration gives Bell and Aiz a quiet song before the walls close
Bell dancing with Aiz matters because it is one of the few moments in the volume not structured by pursuit. He is awkward, dazzled and temporarily allowed to be the boy whose admiration began this journey. Apollo then turns the same public gathering into pressure, placing desire, spectacle and coercion in one room.
The softness is not filler. It establishes the ordinary future Bell could lose if Apollo succeeds in converting him from person into prize.
Phase three · the church burns
Refusal becomes grounds for open attack
Apollo Familia attacks the abandoned church that served as Hestia Familia’s first home. Bell carries Hestia through smoke while the building collapses. The loss is materially devastating and symbolically precise: Apollo destroys the place proving Bell chose Hestia before anyone considered him valuable.
Orario becomes a city-sized Dungeon. Rooftops replace floors, squads replace monster packs and Bell becomes the quarry in a coordinated Rabbit Hunt.
Lilly’s impossible bargain
She goes back to Soma Familia because she believes removing herself might remove an army from Bell’s pursuit.
Zanis offers the shape of a bargain and the reality of captivity. Lilly’s surrender is not weakness or a relapse into the person she used to be. It is a tactical sacrifice made by somebody who believes Bell’s chance improves if she absorbs the threat tied to her old Familia.
Inside Soma’s compound, Divine Wine attacks the self she rebuilt. Addiction, worship and coercion become one force asking her to stop being Lilly and become a useful body again. Bell’s remembered smile gives her a relationship the wine cannot fully overwrite. She keeps her name long enough for rescue to reach her.
The plot refuses to make Bell the only rescuer. Lilly’s interior resistance is part of the rescue, and her tactical mind becomes indispensable once she is free.
The glove
Hestia formalizes the war Apollo has already begun
Refusal has not protected her child, home or Familia. Hestia uses Luan’s glove to answer Apollo in the ritual language Orario recognizes. Accepting the War Game is not consent to Apollo’s original demand. It is the only available method for converting an uncontrolled hunt into terms Hestia Familia can exploit.
The transfers
Welf and Mikoto choose a Familia under siege
Welf transfers because friendship has become allegiance. Mikoto transfers because guilt from the pass parade has become action and because Bell’s people are now hers. Lyu cannot formally join but agrees to fight. The tiny Familia expands precisely when membership guarantees danger rather than comfort.
The plan
Lilly turns rescued knowledge into siege architecture
Lilly knows faces, incentives, blind spots and how underestimated people move through controlled spaces. The War Game plan gives every member a job no substitute can perform: Welf opens the castle, Mikoto immobilizes the courtyard, Lyu disrupts defenders, Lilly infiltrates and Bell reaches the captain.
The War Game
A five-person assault defeats a hundred-person certainty.
Crozzo Magic Swords erase the castle’s assumption that walls equal safety. Welf uses the inherited craft he once rejected as siege artillery under conditions he chooses. Mikoto’s gravity magic pins the courtyard and converts numerical superiority into a temporarily motionless problem. Lyu applies veteran speed where the defense is most brittle.
Lilly uses Luan’s face to enter the formation’s trust and opens the west gate. The “Trojan horse” works because Apollo Familia never learned to see supporters as dangerous authors of a battle. Her deception creates Bell’s corridor.
Bell still has to defeat Hyacinthus. Aiz’s training taught him to locate the last opening when exhaustion has stripped everything decorative from a fight. Hyacinthus gives him that opening; Bell’s left hand lands; the entire siege collapses into one result built by everybody who made that meeting possible.
The penalty
Apollo loses the property logic he tried to impose on Bell
Hestia claims Apollo Familia’s assets, dissolves his organization and banishes him from Orario. The punishment is not merely revenge. Apollo used wealth, followers and custom to turn desire into coercive leverage. Losing those systems strips the acquisition fantasy of its machinery.
The new home
The ruined church becomes a manor full of chosen people
Victory gives Hestia Familia Apollo’s estate, but the emotional change is larger than square footage. Bell and Hestia began in a broken church. Welf, Lilly and Mikoto now inhabit the consequence of choosing them. The new home is not proof that pain was worth it. It is space for a Familia that finally exists in the plural.
The bell in flame
Orario watches a small Familia author its own legend
The War Game is public in a way the Black Goliath battle was not. The Guild cannot classify it into silence. Gods, citizens and rival Familias watch the strategy unfold. Bell is the recognizable center, but the victory makes Lilly, Welf, Mikoto, Lyu and Hestia impossible to dismiss as his background.
Apollo builds a trap around the idea that Bell is a collectible hero. Hestia Familia wins by proving Bell is not a solo asset at all—he is one irreplaceable part of a group that chose one another under fire.
