Tea with receipts
These are the published sources behind the timeline. RaeRae commentary is mine. Claims remain claims unless the linked reporting confirms them.
ILLIT placed third in the Korean Business Research Institute’s July rookie idol-group brand-reputation ranking, behind RESCENE and CORTIS. Their index reached 2,491,433, up 4.22 percent from June.
What the ranking does, and does not, mean
The index combines consumer participation, media coverage, interaction, and community-awareness data. It is not a secret government scoreboard declaring which group has the best songs. It measures attention. Messy attention counts. Praise counts. Complaints count. A fandom refreshing an argument for six hours is still, tragically, engagement.
Why ILLIT’s placement is interesting
ILLIT has spent much of its career trapped inside somebody else’s comparison chart: NewJeans comparisons, HYBE discourse, plagiarism arguments, concept debates, and the recurring internet sport of declaring a young girl group “finished” before lunch. Third place does not erase any of that. It does show that the group remains firmly inside the rookie conversation instead of fading from it.
The 4.22 percent month-over-month increase is not a volcanic surge, but it is movement in the correct direction. More importantly, it happened while the rookie field remained crowded. Attention is not the same as affection, but disappearing acts do not place third.
The RaeRae take
I do not worship brand rankings because they can reward noise as easily as genuine momentum. Still, if people want to use internet volume as proof ILLIT is doomed, they cannot suddenly pretend the volume does not exist when the index lands in ILLIT’s favor. Pick a measuring stick and stop moving it every time the girls survive another discourse cycle.
