iii

iii is a South Korean girl group whose history makes the usual one-line debut summary collapse immediately. Big Ocean ENM first introduced a five-member pre-debut lineup in 2023 and released “Forbidden Midnight.” Every member of that lineup later left. The company rebuilt iii with six different women, officially debuted them in August 2025 through “RE:AL iii,” and then announced Huran’s departure in April 2026. The current five are Namkhing, Soobin, Taeri, Eungi and Hana.
RaeRae take
iii turned one song into a doorway between two entirely different groups of women. That is fascinating, uncomfortable and exactly why the archive cannot call both videos “the same comeback.” The 2023 file belongs to Vivi, Nicole, Ahra, Yan and Evie. The 2025 Real version belongs to Namkhing, Soobin, Taeri, Eungi, Hana and Huran. Current status cannot erase either room.

What the name means
The company describes iii as an abbreviation connected to “inspiration” and the aim of becoming artists who inspire others. The lowercase styling and repeated vertical marks make the name visually compact but unusually difficult to search.
RaeRae note: A group name can look sharp on an album and still make a search engine ask whether the user sneezed.
The first announcement
Big Ocean ENM opened official channels in November 2023 and introduced Vivi, Nicole, Ahra, Yan and Evie across consecutive days. The project was described as a multinational girl group preparing for a later formal debut.
RaeRae note: A member reveal is a promise about direction, not proof that contracts and debut plans will survive unchanged.
The 2023 release file
The original “Forbidden Midnight” digital single arrived on November 22, 2023. The exact playlist video uses YouTube ID kaXdCgtzEsk and documents the original five-person project.
RaeRae note: This is the file CVM Sekai’s React covers; the 2025 remake is a separate upload with a separate cast.
Grieg walks into K-pop
The composition uses the famous escalating contour associated with Edvard Grieg’s “In the Hall of the Mountain King.” That borrowed pressure gives the song a clockwork chase before the idol production adds bass, electronic texture and a repetitive shutdown hook.
RaeRae note: Classical reference is useful when it changes the song’s engine, not when a string sample arrives wearing a museum gift-shop badge.
The midnight rule
Lyrics build a forbidden castle, ticking clock, closing door and dangerous curiosity around the stroke of twelve. Cinderella language is present, but the tone is less rescue fantasy than boundary warning.
RaeRae note: The women are not waiting for a prince; they are telling somebody the building is closed.
Original visual identity
The 2023 video presented the members through polished fantasy imagery, dark color, performance cuts and a concept built around artificial or virtual identity. It functioned as an introduction more than a completed debut-era biography.
RaeRae note: A beautiful pre-debut file can become historical evidence faster than anybody planned.
Vivi leaves
In 2024, Vivi publicly indicated that she would not debut with iii and had returned to Thailand to focus on her studies. That change was the first visible break between the announced lineup and the eventual group.
RaeRae note: Leaving before debut does not remove participation from the song already released.
Evie disappears from the formation
A later dance upload showed only three members, making Evie’s absence visible even before the entire first lineup was gone. Small-company roster changes are often communicated through what a camera no longer shows.
RaeRae note: Fans should not have to perform forensic headcounts, but archives sometimes inherit that unpleasant job.
The whole first lineup exits
By early 2025, none of the five women introduced in 2023 remained in iii. The brand, song and official accounts continued while the human roster underneath them changed completely.
RaeRae note: That is not an ordinary member departure. It is a Ship of Theseus problem with choreography.
A rebuilt group
Big Ocean ENM announced a new lineup reveal in July 2025. Namkhing, Soobin, Taeri, Eungi, Hana and Huran were introduced as the six women who would carry iii into an official debut.
RaeRae note: The new members did not cause the previous plan to fail; they inherited a name already carrying unfinished history.
Multinational lineup
The 2025 lineup included Korean, Thai and Japanese members, continuing the multinational ambition attached to the project from its first announcement. Individual profiles should document nationality through reliable sources rather than guessing from names.
RaeRae note: International is a working reality, not decorative flag confetti.
Universe Ticket connection
Soobin had public pre-debut visibility through the survival program “Universe Ticket.” That history gave some viewers a recognizable route into a group whose brand had already existed under different faces.
RaeRae note: Survival-show recognition can open the door; the debut still has to justify the room.
Official debut date
iii officially debuted on August 29, 2025 with the two-track single album “RE:AL iii.” The release contains “Guilty” and “Forbidden Midnight (Real ver.).”
RaeRae note: Calling the 2023 single the official debut collapses the company’s own later launch distinction.
Guilty
“Guilty” serves as the new lineup’s additional song and prevents the release from being only a rerecording exercise. Its presence gives the six women material not haunted by an earlier cast at every second.
RaeRae note: A rebuilt group needs at least one room where nobody else’s furniture is still taped to the floor.
The Real version
“Forbidden Midnight (Real ver.)” preserves the core composition while reintroducing it through the six-member 2025 lineup and a new official music video. The parenthetical is crucial metadata, not decorative punctuation.
RaeRae note: Real does not make the 2023 women unreal. It names the concept’s move from virtual framing into the debut story.
Two exact videos
The 2023 upload is kaXdCgtzEsk. The 2025 official Real-version video is 5toNHtirpVM. They have different release dates, images, participants and critical contexts.
RaeRae note: One title fragment is never enough to merge two files safely.
Why the current hub needs both
A fan discovering iii in 2026 needs the active five-member roster, the six-member official-debut record and the original five-member pre-debut credit. Leaving any layer out creates a cleaner page and a false history.
RaeRae note: Messy truth is still better information than tidy erasure.
Huran departs
On April 3, 2026, the agency announced that Huran’s exclusive contract had ended after discussions about future direction. iii continued as five members.
RaeRae note: The announcement requested restraint around speculation; this archive records the outcome without inventing a cause.
Current five
Namkhing, Soobin, Taeri, Eungi and Hana form the current documented lineup as of this page’s August 2026 status check. Future releases must be checked against their exact on-screen and recording credits.
RaeRae note: A current lineup is a dated snapshot, not a prediction that nobody will ever move again.
Fandom name
iii announced iNNIT as the fandom name in December 2025. The word plays naturally against the group’s typography and the phrase “in it,” giving fans an identity that is easier to search than the artist name.
RaeRae note: At least one part of this filing system decided to help.
Small-label visibility
iii illustrates how hard it is for a smaller-label act to preserve public continuity. Member changes, delayed debut, limited English reporting and reused song titles can make basic credit work surprisingly difficult.
RaeRae note: Low publicity should increase documentation care, not lower the standard.
The AI-to-real concept
Official album copy describes idols moving from an AI or virtual world into reality. The concept gives the 2025 remake a story reason, although the real-world lineup replacement makes that metaphor more complicated than the marketing copy admits.
RaeRae note: When the concept says “who is real?” and the roster changed completely, the archive has homework.
Virtual language versus human labor
Digital effects, synthetic-world language and AI-themed promotion can frame the group, but the vocals, dance training, styling, filming and travel belong to human workers.
RaeRae note: Conceptual artificiality should never make actual labor invisible.
The choreography
The song’s accelerating tension invites sharp timing, formation locks and repeated gestures synchronized to the ticking structure. Both lineups interpret the same musical pressure through different bodies.
RaeRae note: A remake becomes meaningful when the formation is re-authored, not merely recolored.
The hook
“Forbidden midnight” and the repeated closing-door phrase give the track an easy memory point against busier orchestral motion. Repetition turns the warning into architecture.
RaeRae note: The hook keeps shutting the gate until the listener starts dancing outside it.
Production credits
The Real version credits Ryan S. Jhun, Hannes Roovers and Isac Hördegård as producers, with composition also credited to Moa Pettersson Hammar and Sophie Alexandra Tweed-Simmons and Korean lyrics credited to Myung Ji-eun, Oh Yu-won and Jung Min-ji.
RaeRae note: Names belong beside the magic trick; they explain who built the trapdoor.
Background vocals and recording
Official Korean album notes also name vocal direction, recording, background vocals, mixing, digital editing and mastering personnel. These credits matter because a six-member blend is still shaped by a team beyond the frame.
RaeRae note: The people behind the glass are participants in the sound, even when no photocard exists for them.
Forbidden Midnight versus Forbidden Midnight
The two versions share a composition identity but are not interchangeable in a tracker. Search results, cards and profile participation must preserve the “Real ver.” distinction.
RaeRae note: If a database cannot tell them apart, the database is not finished.
React date integrity
The playlist React for the 2023 video is dated within the required one-to-three-day window after that exact release. A later site repair date must never replace the public editorial date.
RaeRae note: Database work in 2026 should not pretend RaeRae reviewed a 2023 song yesterday.
Image integrity
This hub uses the 2025 Real-version official video for a current-era group image. The 2023 React keeps its own original-lineup canonical image, and every member profile will receive a separate real source.
RaeRae note: Different eras need different faces, not one thumbnail stretched across eleven biographies.
Profile routing for original members
Vivi, Nicole, Ahra, Yan and Evie receive the 2023 React card because they are the documented original lineup. They do not receive automatic participation on the 2025 Real version.
RaeRae note: A brand surviving does not transfer recording credit by osmosis.
Profile routing for the debut lineup
Namkhing, Soobin, Taeri, Eungi, Hana and Huran receive the 2025 Real-version route because that is their official debut file. The original 2023 React does not belong on their cards as participant work.
RaeRae note: Inheritance of a group name is not inheritance of somebody else’s vocal take.
Huran’s historical credit
Huran remains on the 2025 release and video after her 2026 departure. Current-member lists and historical participant lists answer different questions.
RaeRae note: Former members do not evaporate from footage when a contract ends.
A rant the project earns
Small groups are regularly discussed as if lineup instability were an amusing lore puzzle. Behind every replaced square are years of training, relocation, uncertainty and work that may never receive a proper debut stage.
RaeRae note: The least an archive can do is spell every name correctly and stop calling disappearance a rebrand aesthetic.
A tea angle without gossip
The real story is not a rumored feud; it is a company preserving an artist brand and song while replacing the complete original cast. That structural decision is documented and interesting enough without anonymous accusations.
RaeRae note: Tea gets stronger when the cup contains facts.
What to watch next
The next iii release will show how the current five sound without Huran and whether the AI-to-real concept develops beyond the debut setup. It will also reveal whether “Guilty” was a direction or a one-release companion.
RaeRae note: The group needs new music more than another explanation of its own existence.
Current status label
As of August 2026, iii is active as a five-member group under Big Ocean ENM, with a documented original pre-debut lineup and one former official-debut member.
RaeRae note: That sentence is long because the history is long, not because the archive enjoys commas.
RaeRae archive verdict
iii belongs in the K-pop ecosystem as one continuing project with era-separated rosters, exact-file credits and two distinct “Forbidden Midnight” videos.
RaeRae note: Keep both lineups visible. Then let the next song decide what iii becomes instead of forcing the debut to carry the whole future.
Comparing the two vocal files
The 2023 and 2025 versions invite direct comparison because the underlying composition remains recognizable while the entire performing roster changes. The useful question is not which women “own” the song through fandom preference. Listen for how tone distribution, ensemble weight, doubled phrases and the bridge change when another six voices enter the arrangement.
RaeRae note: A rerecording is a laboratory for arrangement, provided the people are treated as singers instead of replaceable test tubes.
Comparing the two videos
The original file introduces a fantasy project still imagined as pre-debut. The Real-version video carries the burden of explaining a new cast, a completed debut and the movement from virtual construction into human presence. Similar motifs therefore perform different jobs across the edits.
RaeRae note: Repetition becomes story only when the second image remembers the first one existed.
The word real needs quotation marks around its power
Marketing language calls the 2025 lineup “real,” but every woman who trained, recorded or appeared in 2023 was already real. The concept describes the fictional movement of the group’s avatars or presentation, not a hierarchy of human legitimacy.
RaeRae note: Concept copy can have fun with ontology. Credits still have to behave like adults.
Why an old React stays on the current hub
The 2023 React belongs on this group hub because iii’s official project history still includes that release and its exact official channel identity. The card also makes the roster discontinuity visible instead of hiding the earlier file in search results with no explanation.
RaeRae note: A hub connects history; a participant profile assigns labor. Those are related but different routes.
Why the old React does not route to current members
Namkhing, Soobin, Taeri, Eungi and Hana are current iii members, but they did not perform in the original playlist video. Their profiles can link to the group history without displaying the 2023 React as personal work.
RaeRae note: Membership is not retroactive session credit. That rule protects everybody on both sides of a lineup change.
What the tracker still owes
The 2025 Real-version music video is official, identifiable and not the same file as the playlist entry. It remains listed as a pending React rather than quietly borrowing the original review. A future audit must verify its release timestamp, duration, player, canonical image and participant cards.
RaeRae note: A “same song” shortcut would save one page and create six false credits. Bad bargain.
A complete profile set is larger than the current lineup
iii requires eleven person routes to document the project honestly: five original 2023 performers, six official-debut performers, with Huran now former and five currently active. Sparse public biographies will be labeled sparse instead of filled with recycled “charisma” claims.
RaeRae note: Not knowing much about a rookie is an honest condition. Inventing depth is not research.
Publicity and preservation
The group’s searchable history is scattered across Korean music services, official social posts, short agency announcements and fan-maintained timelines. Large acts receive dozens of translated articles for every roster change; a small act may leave one disappearing caption.
RaeRae note: Preservation becomes more important as publicity gets smaller, because there are fewer copies available to correct the next mistake.
The producer’s continuity
Ryan S. Jhun and the international composition team provide a musical bridge across the project’s two eras. Their returning composition allows the company to present continuity even when the vocal and visual cast has changed.
RaeRae note: The song is the thread, but a thread should not be mistaken for the people holding each end.
The current five need a next chapter
After Huran’s departure, the clearest way for Namkhing, Soobin, Taeri, Eungi and Hana to establish iii is a new exact release built around their present blend. Another explanation of the original concept cannot substitute for hearing how five current voices now divide a complete song.
RaeRae note: Identity becomes convincing through repetition of work, not repetition of lore.
