Hui of PENTAGON: Member and Artist Profile

Lee Hoetaek — born August 28, 1993. Current seven-member PENTAGON participant and leader, main vocalist, producer and solo artist.

Bottom line

Hui (Lee Hoetaek) is a current member of PENTAGON, born August 28, 1993, and is best documented as the leader, main vocalist, producer and solo artist. PENTAGON debuted under Cube Entertainment on October 10, 2016 after Pentagon Maker. The original ten became nine when E’Dawn left in November 2018. Cube contracts began separating in 2023 without a disbandment announcement. In July 2026, the members confirmed that Yan An and Yuto would follow separate paths and that PENTAGON would move forward as seven: Jinho, Hui, Hongseok, Shinwon, Yeo One, Kino and Wooseok. The tenth-anniversary project is coordinated through Kino’s company NAKED.

Before debut

the melodic architect behind major PENTAGON songs and a Boys Planet finalist. Pre-debut footage and training explain part of the skill set, but the profile does not treat an edited audition narrative as a permanent personality.

Pentagon Maker and 2016 debut

Hui entered the professional group record through Pentagon Maker and the October 10, 2016 debut. The original ten-member catalog remains historically intact even though the current directory now contains seven active group participants.

The original ten and 2018 change

E’Dawn’s November 2018 departure changed the performing lineup to nine. Hui continued through that transition. Crediting older recordings accurately is not nostalgia management; it is basic release metadata.

Performance identity

Hui works as the leader, main vocalist, producer and solo artist. The evidence lives in phrasing, timing, formation responsibility, writing credits and the way those choices change between “Shine,” “Daisy,” “DO or NOT” and later independent work.

The self-produced catalog

PENTAGON’s member-written identity gives individual profiles unusual value. Credits can show who built a lyric, melody or arrangement, while performance analysis shows how Hui interprets material even when somebody else wrote it.

The Cube contract transition

The 2023 contract split did not dissolve PENTAGON. Members moved into different management structures and kept discussing group work. Hui’s canonical page therefore tracks one career across company boundaries rather than creating a new biography for every agency.

Military-service chronology

Military service staggered PENTAGON’s activity rather than producing one synchronized hiatus. This page dates Hui’s service status only where verified and never converts absence from one schedule into a departure claim.

The seven-member 2026 project

In July 2026, PENTAGON confirmed the continuing seven: Jinho, Hui, Hongseok, Shinwon, Yeo One, Kino and Wooseok. Yan An and Yuto chose separate paths. Hui is part of the tenth-anniversary project coordinated through NAKED.

Member and Artist routing

Hui has verified original individual music, so this same page serves both member and Artist discovery. Group credits, solo originals and collaborations share one human chronology; a duplicate Artist biography would split images, dates and corrections.

International fan guide

Use official group and individual accounts, durable company notices and credited release pages. A legacy Cube upload can still be the official master while a current schedule comes from another agency. Source ownership and current employment are not the same field.

Public-person boundary

The archive analyzes public performance, credited work and verified career decisions. It does not translate friendships, group-chat anecdotes or camera personas into private-character verdicts. Familiarity is not evidence.

RaeRae take

The strongest thing about Hui is not a ranking. It is the way a recognizable choice survives lineup, company and genre changes. PENTAGON’s catalog gives members enough contrast that consistency becomes visible without reducing anybody to one adjective.
