Author Hub · 3 titles · a complete run

Katy Madison

Three books this Library had filed as unrelated standalones that happen to share a title pattern. They are not standalones. They are a complete series, and you own all of it.

Correction, and a good one. This page previously said these three were standalones united only by a marketing habit, and specifically declined to assume otherwise on the grounds that matching titles are not evidence of a series.

They are The Dueling Pistols Series, and there are exactly three of them. The Wedding Duel is book one and The Wedding Redux is book two, both confirmed from the publisher listing. With three books in the series and precisely these three on the shelf, The Wedding Runaway is book three.

Which means this is not a scatter of odds and ends. It is a complete run, and the Library was undercounting it.

The series

Book one

The Wedding Duel

Confirmed as first in the series. Currently priced at nothing at all, which is the usual indie move for a series opener.

Book two

The Wedding Redux

Confirmed as second in the series.

Book three

The Wedding Runaway

Inferred as third. The series runs to three, the shelf holds three, and this is the one left over.

The title pattern turned out to be real after all. It was just pointing at duels rather than weddings.

What the series name suggests

Nothing on this page will claim to know these plots, because they have not been read. But the series title is worth noting, because it reframes the three books entirely.

Filed as The Wedding something, they read as three interchangeable romances about weddings. Filed as The Dueling Pistols Series, they read as three books connected by an object, which is a very different and much more interesting proposition. Series built around a physical thing that passes between books are a small and reliable subgenre, and they tend to be better constructed than their covers admit, because the object forces the author to actually connect the stories.

Whether that is what is happening here is not established. It is simply a much better reason to pick up book one than the covers were offering.

Elsewhere

Madison also writes a Wild West Weddings sequence published through Harlequin, which is not on this shelf. Worth knowing only so that a search for her name does not produce confusion between two entirely separate wedding-titled runs.

Read status: none. No part of these three has been read and no plot descriptions are offered. Series membership and ordering come from the publisher listing. Book three’s position is an inference from the series length and is labeled as one rather than presented as fact.
