ALPHA DRIVE ONE is not a mystery group assembled in a basement with one ring light. Mnet’s BOYS II PLANET built the audience, roughly 26 million final votes selected the lineup, and WAKEONE launched eight members carrying radically different amounts of career mileage. The interesting question is not “who are these guys?” It is how a million-selling debut can still feel invisible if you were not already standing inside the correct algorithm.
Bottom line
Leo, Junseo, Arno, Geonwoo, Sangwon, Xinlong, Anxin and Sanghyeon make ALD1 unusually experienced for a 2026 rookie. “BORN DIRE” is the point where the group stops presenting potential and starts choosing an identity: abrasive rave pressure, punk texture, rawer vocals and choreography big enough to survive a hundred extra bodies.
Meet the eight members
Every card opens one canonical combined member-and-artist profile. Future solo music stays on that page; nobody gets split into a fake duplicate because one OST arrived.
How the group was made
BOYS II PLANET ended in September 2025 with eight globally voted finalists. The team name breaks down into ALPHA for the goal of reaching the top, DRIVE for momentum and ONE for the official team. Leo was later announced as leader; Sanghyeon is the youngest. The lineup includes Korean and Chinese members, plus three people—Leo, Junseo and Xinlong—who spoke publicly about debuting again rather than erasing earlier careers.
The five-year project-group structure creates urgency, but urgency is not the same as disposability. Five years is long enough to build a catalog, make mistakes, recover from injuries and develop actual chemistry. The clock should sharpen the work, not reduce the members to a countdown graphic.
The debut did not whisper
Pre-release “FORMULA” arrived in December 2025 after a MAMA stage. EUPHORIA followed on January 12, 2026 with “FREAK ALARM.” Hanteo reported 1,130,405 first-day sales, making ALD1 one of only three groups at the time to cross one million within a debut album’s first week. Nine days after debut, “FREAK ALARM” took the group’s first music-show win.
Three releases, three versions of youth
FORMULA / EUPHORIA: speed, alarms, team declaration and performance pressure. No School Tomorrow: “OMG!” loosens the shoulders and treats teenage emotion like unpredictable weather. UNBREAKABLE : 少年BEAST: “BORN DIRE” turns prejudice and imposed labels into a beast metaphor, then runs British rave and punk through a modern idol-performance machine.
The second mini album contains seven tracks: “BORN DIRE,” “Diamond Hour,” “One More Time,” “Talk to me,” “OMG!,” “Good Life” and “WELCOME home.” The closing song matters because all eight members participated in its lyrics; that is the first writing credit the official rollout framed as a group statement to fans.
The publicity paradox
ALD1 has official accounts, a polished Japanese site, WAKEONE pages, Mnet infrastructure and enormous sales. Yet discovery is fragmented across ALPHA DRIVE ONE, ALD1, Korean spellings, member birth names, renamed stage identities and platform-specific pages. That is why someone can like “BORN DIRE,” search once, and still wonder whether the group is new. The connected critique lives in the international publicity rant.

Eight biographies, not eight blank rookies
Junseo came through Under Nineteen, 1THE9 and WEi. Xinlong debuted with BOY STORY while still very young. Leo entered with individual music and years of training. Arno carried survival-show history under Zhang Jia Hao. Sangwon’s long pre-debut visibility created an audience before the lineup existed. Geonwoo, Anxin and Sanghyeon arrived with different levels of public exposure but the same demand to prove themselves immediately. The group’s advantage is not simply “experience.” It is disagreement: eight people have different evidence about what an idol career costs.
That can become chemistry or hierarchy. The early releases work best when experience supports the formation without turning the previously debuted members into permanent adults and the younger members into permanent students. A project group has too little time for rigid roles that stop people from changing.
Member map: where to listen and look
Leo supplies warmth and leadership calm. Junseo gives center work the steadiness of someone who understands multiple debut systems. Arno makes precision and floorwork readable. Geonwoo connects formations and vocal pressure. Sangwon adjusts cleanly between bright and severe concepts. Xinlong adds lower vocal weight and grounded attack. Anxin preserves openness inside harder material. Sanghyeon carries the youngest perspective and the most visible improvement story. These are observations across the first eras, not permanent company positions carved into stone.
UNBREAKABLE : 少年BEAST, track by track
“BORN DIRE” is the thesis: hostile labels become a beast the group chooses to control. “Diamond Hour” brings hip-hop R&B and a sample of Jeon Yu-na’s “What Is Love,” softening the album without abandoning memory. “One More Time” leans on bass and confidence. “Talk to me” opens a summer-romance window.
“OMG!” and “Good Life” carry the earlier No School Tomorrow youth chapter into the album, which makes the harsher frame feel like development rather than replacement. “WELCOME home” closes on a fan-facing message with all eight members participating in lyrics. That last credit is the most important long-term clue: performance identity is already strong; authorship is where the group can become less interchangeable.
The first-year test
A million-selling debut can disguise weak foundations because demand arrives before the catalog. ALD1’s first-year test is whether listeners can describe the music without describing the survival show. “FREAK ALARM” established force, “OMG!” proved the lineup could breathe, and “BORN DIRE” gives the force a clearer thematic purpose. The sequence is promising because it argues rather than merely escalating.
The danger is constant speed. If every comeback must prove the group is racing upward, rest starts looking like failure and subtle music gets treated as a detour. “Diamond Hour,” “Talk to me” and “WELCOME home” matter because they let the catalog contain softness, memory and direct address. A race car still needs a map.
How international fans can follow without drowning
For official music and long-form video, start with YouTube @ALD1.official. Use the official Linktree to verify social accounts before following or buying. Use the WAKEONE English profile for stable lineup information, Mnet Plus for performance and survival-show media, and the Japanese site for Japan-specific schedules. The full argument—and the translation problem—is in the international publicity rant.
Who should start here
If you like performance-first groups but need a song to justify the choreography, begin with “BORN DIRE.” If chant-heavy titles exhaust you, try “OMG!” before deciding the group has only one setting. If survival-show discourse makes you avoid project groups, start with the member profiles and previous-career notes; the lineup becomes more interesting once the ranking numbers stop being the only biography.
Current roster and August 2026 participation
WAKEONE’s current artist page lists eight members: Leo, Junseo, Arno, Geonwoo, Sangwon, Xinlong, Anxin and Sanghyeon. That is the canonical roster as of this update. Participation is more complicated. An August 20 notice said Arno had sprained his ankle and would limit performance schedules according to medical guidance. A separate notice said Sanghyeon would rest his voice through August 22 after vocal-cord-polyp surgery and return gradually according to his recovery.
Those facts belong together because a comeback image may show fewer active bodies without proving a membership change. The hub names who is officially in the group, then dates any temporary limitation. It does not turn an injury into lore or use one performance formation to overrule the company roster.
Why BORN DIRE is the real identity test
“BORN DIRE” works because the production finally gives ALD1’s speed a reason. The debut language—alarms, formulas, driving upward—could have remained a collection of motivational nouns. The new song frames imposed labels as something beastly and converts that pressure into British-rave percussion, punk abrasion and a performance that keeps widening until the members appear to be leading a small uprising.
Scale is also the risk. More than a hundred dancers can make eight members feel like punctuation inside their own video. The strongest passages solve that with recognizable vocal colors and clean handoffs rather than louder editing. The exact MV has its own Iconic by Mistake React, so this hub can track the career meaning without pretending to be a second scene-by-scene review.
The album after the title track
The second mini album is not seven versions of “BORN DIRE.” “Diamond Hour” uses hip-hop R&B and memory; “One More Time” turns confidence toward bass rather than spectacle; “Talk to me” opens a softer summer window. “OMG!” and “Good Life” carry the school-break chapter forward, while “WELCOME home” closes on direct fan address.
All eight members participating in the closing track’s lyrics is the most consequential credit in the package. Performance identity can be assigned by a creative team and sold immediately. Shared writing is evidence that the members are beginning to shape how the group speaks back. One credit is not total authorship, but it is a route worth tracking.
The five-year project clock
ALD1’s planned five-year term is long by project-group standards and short by ordinary career standards. That tension invites countdown coverage before the catalog has enough time to breathe. Five years can still contain tours, health interruptions, songwriting growth, genre mistakes and genuine reinvention. The page will treat the contract as context, not as a daily expiration timer.
The healthiest first-year question is whether someone can describe ALD1 without reciting the survival-show ranking. “FREAK ALARM” established force, “OMG!” proved range, and “BORN DIRE” gave the force a more specific argument. The next step is not necessarily bigger. It is more ownership: credits, longer musical ideas and choices that another rookie group could not wear unchanged.
International publicity: reach is not the same as access
The group is not obscure in Korea. A million-selling debut, music-show wins, fan-con dates, pop-up stores and a Republic Records partnership make “zero publicity” indefensible. The international complaint is different: official information is distributed across WAKEONE, Mnet Plus/Plus Chat, YouTube, a Japanese site, regional ticket vendors and social feeds. A fan can see the video everywhere and still lack one stable English-language map of what happened next.
That fragmentation pushes volunteer translators into the role of public infrastructure. Fan translators are valuable, but they should not be the only way to learn whether a member is resting, whether a presale requires a separate verification step or which account owns the exact schedule. The full rant criticizes the system and ends with an official following route instead of merely shouting “promote them better.”
A practical official-following route
- Music and exact videos: @ALD1.official on YouTube.
- Roster and stable artist identity: WAKEONE’s ALPHA DRIVE ONE page.
- Schedules, health notices and fan-club instructions: the official ALPHA DRIVE ONE space and notice board on Mnet Plus/Plus Chat.
- Japan-specific releases and schedules: the official Japanese site; do not assume it mirrors every global notice.
- CVM Sekai map: this hub, eight canonical profiles, the exact-upload React and the sourced international-access rant.
What this hub refuses to collapse
Each official upload remains its own evidence object. A music video, choreography film, performance video and dance practice can share a song title without becoming interchangeable. If another upload deserves a React, it receives its own exact video ID, canonical image and tracker row. The “BORN DIRE” page cannot borrow a wide performance shot to support a claim about the MV edit.
Member identity follows the same rule. Earlier names and previous groups remain part of a person’s history, but one human keeps one canonical profile. Health-limited participation is not departure. A fan translation is not an official status notice. A viral clip is not a complete personality. These boundaries make the hub less dramatic and much more useful.

From fan vote to working ensemble
Approximately 26 million final votes explain the scale of the launch, but vote totals are not a substitute for ensemble chemistry. Survival television asks viewers to select individuals; a group arrangement asks those individuals to make another person’s entrance stronger. The most revealing ALD1 moments are therefore not always centers. They are recoveries after a formation expands, matched attacks across different training backgrounds and vocal handoffs that prevent a chant from becoming one continuous texture.
That is also why old ranks should retire as the dominant language. A ranking described a competition in September 2025. It cannot decide who best carries a 2027 bridge, whose writing develops or which member becomes the emotional center of a tour. The archive preserves formation history while allowing the music to produce new evidence.
Previous groups are history, not prequels
Junseo’s 1THE9 and WEi work, Xinlong’s BOY STORY career, Leo’s individual music and Arno’s earlier competition history do not exist merely to make ALD1 look experienced. Those projects and credits retain their own meaning. The hub links them as career context without narrating every previous chapter as a failed rehearsal for the current logo.
The members with less prior public material deserve the same care. A thin pre-debut record is not proof of a thin person. It only limits what a responsible profile can claim. The page would rather leave private personality undescribed than fill the space with recycled “fun facts” whose sources disappeared three reposts ago.
The card and tracker standard
Every member card must remain readable on a phone, use the member’s own canonical portrait and open the correct canonical profile. The image is not decoration pasted into an Elementor HTML widget; it is a local WordPress attachment with title, alt text, caption, source metadata, parent and filing. No member shares a featured attachment with another post.
The video tracker is equally literal. FORMULA, FREAK ALARM, OMG! and BORN DIRE are separate official uploads with separate IDs. A choreography film or performance version can join only as its own entry and, if reviewed, its own React. Song-family convenience never overrides exact-upload evidence.
Editorial maintenance note
This record is designed to change without losing its spine. New official releases, credits, dated health notices and verified interviews can be added in chronological context. Older facts should be corrected in place rather than abandoned inside a duplicate profile. That maintenance rule matters for a five-year project group because names, schedules and artistic functions will develop faster than search results forget the first version.
Readers can use the source list to distinguish a stable roster fact from an observation about one performance. When sources disagree, the dated company record and the exact credited upload take priority; the disagreement is named instead of quietly blended into false certainty.
The hub will also retain the uncomfortable parts of the record: interrupted promotions, confusing regional access, songs that do not develop far enough and the difference between sales scale and public legibility. Supporting a group does not require converting every corporate decision into praise. It requires enough accurate structure that criticism reaches the actual decision instead of landing on a member through rumor.
ALLYZ: the fandom file
ALLYZ is the official fandom name, announced in November 2025 after a global naming process. The useful part is not forcing a cute acronym into every sentence. It gives international fans one stable search term for official notices, membership information and translated updates while the group’s publicity trail is still scattered across WAKEONE, Mnet, social platforms and regional schedules.
WAKEONE’s official ALPHA DRIVE ONE profile remains the primary company source. Fandom rumors, color guesses and fan-made schedules do not become profile facts without an official notice.
