TIOT added Yechan after the pre-debut album, then called the five-member launch the real debut

The group existed in public for eight months before its official debut. Yes, the timeline is annoying. No, we are not flattening it.

Shin Yechan of TIOT

RaeRae take: Pre-debut is real work. It is not the same administrative event as an official debut. Both sentences can live together without fighting.

The four-member beginning

After Boys Planet, Redstart presented Minseoung, Junhyeon, Keonhee, and Woojin as TIOT and released the pre-debut mini album Frame the Blueprint: Prelude to Possibilities on August 23, 2023. Its title track remade Click-B’s “Undefeated,” establishing the group’s love affair with older Korean songs early.

Then Yechan appeared

On March 30, 2024, Redstart revealed Shin Yechan as the fifth member. He had not competed on Boys Planet and had not participated in the pre-debut album. Less than a month later, the full five-member TIOT officially debuted with Kick-START on April 22.

That gave the group two legitimate starting points. August 2023 is when TIOT first released music publicly. April 2024 is the formal five-member debut. Profiles that list only one date are not always wrong, but they lose the reason some fans remember a quartet while later material insists on five.

Did the addition work?

Yechan entered an existing team without being treated as a temporary extra. Later formations, songs, and profile materials place him inside the group’s core. “RUN RUN BAREFOOT” is useful evidence because the distribution no longer feels like four known contestants plus one new kid waiting for permission to speak.
