Who is Shin Yechan?
Shin Yechan is TIOT’s youngest member and the only one who was not part of the group’s Boys Planet quartet. Redstart revealed him on March 30, 2024, less than a month before the official debut. That meant joining four people who already had a shared survival-show history, pre-debut album, and established fan rhythm. No pressure. Just walk into the group chat after everyone has been talking for a year.
Yechan began training in 2023. He previously participated in school dance and band clubs and played drums, which gives him a useful rhythmic base even when the group’s arrangement is mostly electronic. His role models include SEVENTEEN. He also likes malatang, tanghulu, and the webtoon Maru Is a Puppy, so his profile is doing an excellent job of confirming the maknae paperwork.
Academically, Yechan once mentioned scoring 96 on a math test. I am including this because idol profiles collect facts with the energy of an aunt introducing a promising nephew. More importantly, he helped TIOT become a proper five-member team instead of remaining “those four Boys Planet trainees.” The official debut was his debut too, and the group’s later formations make room for him rather than placing him on the edge of an already-finished picture.

Joining TIOT at the official starting line
Yechan entered TIOT when the pre-debut quartet became a five-member team for the group’s formal debut. That timing matters: he was not retroactively inserted into the earlier Frame the Blueprint era. His first official group chapter began with Kick-START and “ROCK THANG” on April 22, 2024. The addition changed both the lineup and the vocal balance, giving TIOT another bright tone beside a team already known for forceful performance.
His early public work has therefore been less about a separate solo résumé and more about learning a finished group system in real time. Showcase stages, radio appearances and dance challenges document how quickly he moved from “new member” framing into the group’s everyday chemistry. Koreanet’s 2024 K-pop Star Showcase selected his full-performance fancam as its MVP focus, a useful performance record rather than proof of a separate solo career.
