Yihyun, Kumi, Mia and Beni are P NATION”s first girl group: four teenagers introduced with Soyeon”s creative fingerprints, a guitar-smile pre-debut song, one spectacularly avoidable teaser scandal and a catalog determined to make softness sound like defiance.

THE NAME FILE

Soft outside, steel underneath

Baby DONT Cry is supposed to sound like reassurance and refusal at once. P NATION describes the members as soft outside and strong inside—girls who break the behavioral rules handed to them. The official styling drops the apostrophe from DONT, because punctuation apparently also had to rebel.

BDC is convenient shorthand but came with history. Brand New Music already used BDC for the boy group Boys Da Capo. PSY said the trademark was used with the company founder”s permission; former members were publicly unhappy. Permission settled the paperwork, not the emotional ownership.

THE DEBUT FILE

Great identity, terrible adult supervision

“Bet You”ll Regret It” introduced baby-rock guitars, bright attitude and girls who could smile while issuing a warning. “F Girl” then challenged school-grade logic and rigid scoring. That concept had teeth.

The teaser also included a candy package staged as an adult visual joke around underage members. Viewers saw it immediately. P NATION deleted the scene and issued a statement. The company created controversy that the song never needed, then left four teenagers standing inside everybody else”s marketing argument.

The catalog so far

“Bet You”ll Regret It” (2025): the pre-debut guitar warning remains one of the clearest introductions to the group”s “Baby Rock” lane.

F Girl (2025): the title track attacks grading, numbers and the fantasy that girls should perform goodness for evaluation. “I DONT CARE” pushes the rebellion without the teaser baggage.

After Cry (2026): pre-release “Shapeshifter” opens the palette; title track “Bittersweet” lets grief and sunny memory share a frame. The EP reached beyond one debut controversy and proved the concept could survive a full project.

What matters next: more songs that use the four voices and personalities instead of treating “Soyeon-produced” as permanent training wheels.

THE PERFORMANCE FILE

Four people means nowhere to hide

A four-member group exposes spacing, live tone and personality immediately. Yihyun carries main-vocal stability; Kumi”s rap and power movement cut across the brighter production; Mia supplies elastic facial energy; Beni”s dance-captain precision keeps the small formation from looking empty.

The group”s strongest stages understand that “baby” cannot mean helpless. Their smiles are punctuation. The guitars and direct hooks work because the performance refuses to apologize for taking up the whole frame.

THE SOYEON QUESTION

Creative mentor, not fifth member

Soyeon”s authorship gave the debut immediate identity and scrutiny. Her gift is concept compression: one phrase, one visual symbol, one hook people can argue about before lunch. But Baby DONT Cry still needs a catalog where listeners can hear Yihyun, Kumi, Mia and Beni—not only identify the producer”s habits.

After Cry begins that separation. Influence remains visible; dependency becomes less interesting than what the members do with the language.

CURRENT STATUS

Baby DONT Cry is active as Yihyun, Kumi, Mia and Beni. The current profile is a four-member girl group, not a rotating trainee file. Cherries have an official Weverse community, a Japan fan club and a growing official catalog.

FANDOM FILE

Cherry vocabulary without getting lost

Cherries: the official fandom name, tied to the group”s fresh and bold cherry motif.

Baby Rock: the company”s label for youthful hooks, guitars and defiant messaging.

P Girls: the early pre-debut working name.

BDC: common shorthand, but search carefully because another K-pop group used it first.

“F Girl”: the F is a grade, a rejection of scoring and—because the company made choices—a controversy magnet.

THE PANDA SIDE QUEST

Start before the scandal and keep going after it

Watch “Bet You”ll Regret It” first. It shows the identity without the teaser argument eating the song. Then watch “F Girl,” read the deleted-scene timeline, and move into After Cry. The order matters because it separates what the members performed from what adults marketed around them.

For personality, use official behind-the-scenes and Weverse material: Yihyun”s mystery books, Kumi”s baking, Mia”s games and Beni”s plan-making turn four names into actual people.

RAERAE TAKE

Baby DONT Cry did not need shock marketing. Four young women, crunchy guitars and a song about refusing grades was already enough. The adults briefly forgot that. The group kept going and made the smarter argument through music: cute is not weak, young is not empty, and girls should not have to survive somebody else”s bad joke before the public hears the chorus.

Baby DONT Cry in the official F Girl music video

Current status: four members, one very deliberate sound

Baby DONT Cry remain a four-member P NATION girl group: Yihyun, Kumi, Mia and Beni. They debuted on June 23, 2025 with “F Girl,” followed with “I DONT CARE,” and opened 2026 with “Shapeshifter” before releasing the five-track mini album AFTER CRY on March 24. The lineup has not changed. Two members are Korean and two are Japanese, which makes the group multinational without turning nationality into a substitute for individual roles.

The company phrase “Baby Rock” is useful when it describes the music instead of becoming a sticker. The catalog keeps returning to guitar texture, chant-ready hooks and young narrators who refuse the measurement systems adults hand them. “F Girl” rejects grades as identity. “I DONT CARE” pushes back at surveillance. “Shapeshifter” refuses one stable personality. “Bittersweet” proves the same group can hold grief in sunlight without losing its edge.

AFTER CRY made the debut thesis larger

The first mini album is not just a container for the pre-release single and a title track. Its five songs move from resistance toward emotional consequence: “Shapeshifter,” “Bittersweet,” “Mama I’m Alright,” “Moves Like Ciara” and “Tears On My Pillow.” The sequence matters because a group built around not crying eventually has to answer what strength looks like when tears arrive anyway. The answer is not emotional numbness. It is recovery without surrendering personality.

That is why “Bittersweet” works as the title track. The group’s identity survives a softer frame because the attitude was never only volume. It was the right to describe your own experience. Bright memory, loss and a guitar-driven pop instinct can coexist without turning the members into generic “mature” versions of themselves.

The BDC initials carry a history P NATION did not create

Baby DONT Cry commonly shorten their name to BDC, initials already used by Brand New Music’s former boy group BDC. Company-level permission made the reuse possible, but public reactions from former members made clear that legality did not erase attachment to a name they had performed under. The responsible version of this story does not accuse the four young women of taking anything. Naming, clearance and rollout were adult company decisions.

It also does not pretend the conflict vanished because a trademark question was handled. Searchability, catalog memory and fan identity are practical consequences. CVM Sekai keeps “Baby DONT Cry” written out in titles and profile relationships so the two groups do not collapse into one acronym-shaped search result.

The controversy around F Girl belongs to production accountability

Before debut, a teaser scene drew concern about sexualized framing involving underage members. P NATION removed the scene and issued an apology. That response is part of the record, but the members should not be made the defendants in a decision made around them. Coverage can criticize an adult production system while still evaluating the finished music fairly.

The useful standard is prevention. If a concept depends on girls challenging adult judgment, the production process has to protect their boundaries before a teaser publishes. Waiting for fans to identify the problem turns safeguarding into crisis management.

How international fans can follow without living on translation accounts

Use the official P NATION release pages for catalog facts, the group’s official YouTube channel for exact videos, Weverse for member updates and the Japan fan club for Japanese schedules. Translation accounts remain helpful, but basic membership and release chronology should always be recoverable from stable first-party pages. This tracker records exact video IDs because titles alone can collide with performances, teasers and unrelated artists.

Four members means every arrangement decision is exposed

Baby DONT Cry does not have spare bodies to disguise a weak formation or spare voices to make every chorus sound enormous by default. Four members turn spacing, line assignment and personality into visible choices. Yihyun supplies the melodic anchor, Kumi brings a firmer rap and movement attack, Mia keeps bright scenes alive through quick reactions, and Beni finishes choreography with the certainty a small formation needs.

That setup makes the group easier to learn and harder to fake. A viewer can follow one member through a complete phrase instead of losing her inside a wall of cuts. It also means a comeback cannot solve imbalance by giving three people half a second more screen time. The music has to give all four a reason to be present.

“Bet You’ll Regret It” built the better front door

The pre-debut song remains the cleanest introduction because the guitar hook, warning lyric and smiling delivery explain “Baby Rock” without a lecture. The members sound young without being written as helpless. They can tease, threaten and enjoy the chorus at the same time. That combination is the group’s real identity, not a costume rack labeled cute on one side and tough on the other.

Starting here also protects the music from the debut teaser controversy. Listeners meet the voices and four-person chemistry before reading about an adult production choice the members did not make. Context still belongs in the archive, but it should not get the first word on their talent.

The debut argument survived the company’s bad decision

“F Girl” had a sharp premise: a failing grade does not become a complete identity. That is already enough tension for teenage performers entering an industry addicted to rankings. The removed teaser image added sexualized framing around minors and dragged attention away from the song’s argument. P NATION apologized after publication, but reactive deletion is not the same thing as protecting artists before the upload button.

The members should not carry blame for a marketing decision made around them. They carried the harder job instead: performing a song about rejecting outside judgment while the public judged the rollout in real time. The finished MV and the SHINSEGAE performance deserve separate Reacts because one shows the edited concept and the other exposes how the choreography works with four bodies in a public space.

AFTER CRY answered the name instead of repeating it

A group called Baby DONT Cry eventually has to decide whether crying counts as failure. AFTER CRY gives the sensible answer: emotion happens, then identity continues. “Shapeshifter” refuses the demand for one stable personality. “Bittersweet” lets grief and warmth share the same memory. The other tracks widen the record beyond a single rebellion slogan.

This is the point where the group begins separating from Soyeon’s launch fingerprints. A strong mentor can provide a door, but a sustainable act needs member colors, new collaborators and songs that do not require the producer’s name in the first sentence. The test is not whether later work hides the original influence. It is whether Yihyun, Kumi, Mia and Beni become the reason listeners recognize the track.

The BDC initials need permanent search discipline

Company permission addressed use of the initials; it did not erase Boys Da Capo or the former members’ attachment to their group name. Search results now have two Korean acts competing for the same three letters. That is not the four young women’s fault, but it is a documentation problem every directory can either clarify or make worse.

CVM Sekai writes Baby DONT Cry in full in headings, metadata and relationships. The former BDC remains a separate artist record. No profile, React card or tracker entry should silently merge the catalogs. Acronyms are convenient until they delete somebody.

International fans need a route that does not depend on luck

The official YouTube channel should remain the release spine. P NATION pages verify company announcements and credits, Weverse carries member communication, and the Japanese fan club documents schedules that may not appear in the same place as Korean promotions. Translation accounts help with speed, but they should not become the only surviving source for basic dates and lineup facts.

The React library therefore stores exact video IDs. “F Girl” the MV and “F Girl” at SHINSEGAE are different evidence. A title-only list collapses them, while an exact tracker lets fans compare editing, spacing, stamina and performance choices without guessing which upload a review discussed.

Bottom line

Baby DONT Cry already has the part most rookie groups spend years chasing: a recognizable argument. Cute does not mean obedient, a grade does not define a girl, and strength does not require pretending grief never happened. The company needs to protect that identity from gimmicks. The members need songs that make all four voices necessary. When both happen, the guitars and smiles stop looking like a concept pitch and start sounding like a catalog.
