What changed since the announcement
On July 6, DSP Media announced that J.Seph, BM, Somin, and Jiwoo had mutually agreed to conclude KARD’s group journey after one last album and world tour. On July 28, Where To Now? (Part.2): NOWHERE reached music platforms. Album-sales listings followed on July 29.
This is not a vague “activities are under discussion” hiatus. DSP called the album and tour the conclusion of KARD’s journey as a group. Fans can support every member’s next chapter while still being irritated that the group’s first studio album needed a breakup notice to reach the finish line.
The milestone that took nine years
KARD debuted in 2017 after building attention through pre-debut releases. They made the co-ed format feel viable in a market that usually divides performers into boy groups and girl groups. Their sound traveled particularly well outside Korea, where “Don’t Recall,” “Hola Hola,” “Bomb Bomb,” “Dumb Litty,” and “ICKY” helped create a touring audience large enough to keep the group moving even when domestic attention was inconsistent.
A first full album should have been the next expansion. Instead, it is the archive box. The title NOWHERE now sounds less like branding and more like DSP leaving a dramatic note on the kitchen counter.
Why this ending lands differently
KARD did not fail because the concept lacked an audience. They lasted nearly a decade in an unusual format, survived military-service interruptions, toured repeatedly, and maintained recognizability without the release volume or promotional muscle of larger-label groups. Their career is evidence that the lane existed.
The painful question is whether the company ever treated that lane like something to develop at full strength. Fans waited nine years for a studio album. Receiving it only when the group is leaving makes the “milestone” feel like an overdue package delivered to the wrong address.
The tour deserves careful attention
The farewell tour can become a real celebration if dates, venues, refunds, and communication are handled cleanly. Fans have previously discussed postponed shows, cancelled dates, and refund delays. Those accounts are fan testimony rather than an agency admission, so they should not be inflated into proven misconduct. They do explain why affection and caution are appearing together.

I am happy KARD finally has a full album. I am annoyed that “finally” and “goodbye” occupy the same sentence. The members earned a victory lap. The fans earned clear information. The discography earned more than one studio album.
