Cassandra Illion

Apollo Familia healer · Prophet nobody believes · Alive

She sees the attack before the castle does. Her curse is not vagueness. Her curse is being perfectly understandable in a room that has already decided she is ridiculous.

Cassandra Illion watches the Trojan-horse wagon enter Shreme Castle beneath a rabbit-shaped cloud

The profile

She is right early enough to help. That is what makes everybody ignoring her unbearable.

Cassandra serves Apollo Familia as a healer, but Volume 6 introduces the part of her life medicine cannot solve. She receives prophetic dreams, speaks them clearly and watches certainty turn into embarrassment the moment another person hears her. Daphne knows Cassandra’s pattern better than most. Familiarity still does not become belief.

Before the War Game, Cassandra sees a grotesque rabbit swallowing the sun in a sea of blood. During the siege, she recognizes the final supply wagon as the Trojan horse hiding Bell. The image is not decorative foreshadowing for the reader. It is usable battlefield intelligence delivered to people who have trained themselves to treat the messenger as noise.

Cassandra does not fail to warn Apollo Familia. Apollo Familia fails to build a world where a correct warning from Cassandra can count.

Scene receipts

What Volume 6 actually gives Cassandra

Dream

The bloody rabbit swallows the sun

The prophecy compresses the entire War Game into one impossible image: Bell breaches Apollo’s certainty and ends the world his Familia thought permanent.

Warning

The wagon is the Trojan horse

Cassandra sees the decisive infiltration tool entering Shreme Castle and says exactly what it is before Bell emerges.

Consequence

Accuracy without authority

The defense dismisses her, the gate falls and the story refuses to pretend hindsight repairs the humiliation of being ignored in real time.

Relationships

The people inside the file

Closest witness

Daphne Laulos

Daphne understands Cassandra’s fear and still cannot cross the social distance between sympathy and belief.

Patron god

Apollo

His Familia has room for spectacle, possession and certainty. It has very little room for a woman whose truth makes his victory look temporary.

Prophetic symbol

Bell Cranel

The rabbit in Cassandra’s dream is not prey by the time the image resolves. He is the thing capable of swallowing Apollo’s sun.

RaeRae’s file note

Cassandra is not comic relief for being correct in a voice nobody respects.

The easy reading makes her a recurring joke: Cassandra predicts disaster, people sigh, disaster arrives. The better reading is institutional. Apollo Familia has normalized dismissing one of its own healers so thoroughly that even battlefield verification cannot overcome the habit. That makes her prophecy a character wound and a military failure at the same time.

Volume boundary

This biography stops where Volume 6 stops.

Later Familia changes, relationships and revelations remain sealed until their owned volume receives a completed reading pass.
