Lyu Lion

Elf · Former Astrea Familia adventurer · Benevolent Mistress waitress · Alive

The quiet blade in tavern clothes who can retrieve one stolen knife, descend for one missing rabbit and turn two Crozzo Magic Swords into the opening argument against an entire castle.

Photorealistic portrait of Lyu Lion as a Benevolent Mistress waitress and former adventurer

The profile

Lyu understands that strength is not permission to occupy every scene.

Lyu enters Bell’s early story as a woman whose calm makes other adventurers reconsider decisions before she has to draw. She is fast enough for Bell to miss the stiletto, perceptive enough to recognize the Hestia Knife in darkness and controlled enough to return the weapon without converting Lilly’s crisis into her own heroic showcase.

That restraint is not passivity. It is discipline learned by somebody who has already lived as Gale Wind, already belonged to a justice Familia and already survived consequences that the early books only begin to name. Lyu knows force can solve the immediate physical problem while making the emotional one impossible to approach.

By Volume 6, the waitress uniform, wanted identity and Astrea Familia grief are no longer separate labels. They are the same woman choosing repeatedly where her strength belongs: beside Mia’s staff, inside Bell’s rescue party, at the graves of her dead companions and—when the law fails badly enough—beneath a hood outside Apollo’s castle.

Lyu is not interesting because the quiet waitress was secretly dangerous. She is interesting because the dangerous survivor built a life where violence stopped being her only language.

Volume 2 · Recognition

An apple, a knife and one extremely painful misunderstanding.

Street intervention

She freezes the aggressor before blades cross

Lyu tells a threatening adventurer that Bell is destined to become the companion of someone irreplaceable to her. Her presence and instantly revealed stiletto end the encounter without a fight.

Alley recovery

She recognizes the Hestia Knife

Lyu spots the hieroglyph-marked weapon despite darkness and disguise. Lilly runs; Lyu explodes an apple against her hand and kicks her after warning her to brace.

Return

The living weapon reaches Bell again

When Bell takes the knife, it glows like a dog finding its long-lost master. Lyu restores the tool he needs before Lilly’s final trap closes.

The alley sequence also carries one of the volume’s rougher comedy choices. Lilly’s pain is played for speed and surprise even though her whole character file is already about stronger adventurers treating a supporter’s body as disposable. Lyu’s action is effective. The framing still deserves a raised eyebrow.

More importantly, Lyu initially identifies the thief and then apologizes when Cinder Ella turns Lilly into a Chienthrope rather than the male prum she chased. She can read a blade and a threat. She cannot automatically defeat magic she does not know is operating.

Volume 4 · Friendship said out loud

Lyu warns Bell, traps a drunk hand and calls him her good friend.

Bell’s Level 2 celebration changes the social temperature around him. Adventurers stare, gods hover and people who ignored the Level 1 rookie suddenly see value. Lyu gives him the practical warning underneath the attention: Bell and one supporter are not enough for the middle levels.

When drunken adventurers try to recruit, pressure and belittle him, Lyu intervenes. She traps one man’s hand inside an ale jug and names Bell as her good friend. The declaration matters because Lyu does not distribute emotional language casually. She is not merely protecting a customer under Mia’s rules; she is stating a personal relationship in public.

The rest of the tavern staff joins the correction. Ahnya, Chloe and Runoa make it clear that service uniforms do not erase combat competence. Lyu’s friendship exists inside that workplace community rather than replacing it.

“Good friend” is a small phrase from most people. From Lyu, it is a door opening with both hands still on the sword.

Volume 5 · The rescue

Hermes knows Lyu will move for Bell. Syr knows how to ask without owning the choice.

When Bell, Lilly and Welf disappear in the middle levels, Hestia assembles a rescue outside normal Guild machinery. Hermes approaches Lyu through Syr because he knows direct pressure from him will fail and that Bell matters enough to move her.

Syr refuses to hand Hermes information casually, then quietly sends Lyu after Bell when the rescue is real. The distinction matters. Hermes treats people as levers around his fascination with Bell. Syr treats Lyu as somebody whose consent has to exist even when urgency narrows the room.

Lyu descends with Hestia, Hermes, Asfi, Mikoto, Ouka and Chigusa. Her experience gives the group a frontline capable of surviving depths that would destroy ordinary rescuers. The mission is not a favor performed from safety. It reopens the Dungeon as the place where Lyu lost almost everyone.

Volume 5 · The graves

Bell finds Gale Wind inside the survivor.

On floor eighteen, Bell finds Lyu at the graves of Astrea Familia. She explains the justice faction, the companions she lost and the identity she carried afterward. The scene gives her past a physical location. Grief is not mysterious atmosphere anymore; it has names, graves and a survivor who has to decide whether remaining alive disqualifies her from the ideals they shared.

Bell refuses to treat her as lesser for surviving. He does not demand the clean version of justice, ask her to perform remorse for his comfort or reduce Gale Wind to a wanted poster. His response does not cure the grief. It changes what can be spoken between them.

The relationship gains weight because Bell has already seen Lyu as competent and kind without knowing the full history. The revelation does not replace the waitress with the adventurer. It lets him understand that both lives belong to the same woman.

Bell’s best contribution at the graves is not forgiveness he has no authority to grant. It is refusing to turn survival into evidence against her.

Volume 5 · Black Goliath

The safe floor survives because Lyu refuses the lone-hero lie.

When Hestia’s divine power triggers the Dungeon and the Black Goliath is born, Lyu becomes one of the coalition’s essential fighters. She deals with Mord’s surrounding outlaws, protects the floor and later fights the Irregular beside Asfi while the rest of the force builds a route toward a finishing strike.

Mikoto’s gravity magic, Welf’s hated magic sword, Asfi’s items, Mord’s rally, Rivira’s adventurers and Lyu’s frontline work all buy Bell time. Bell lands the final blow. The victory belongs to everybody who prevents the hero from dying before he can charge it.

This is where Lyu’s justice begins functioning collectively again. She does not carry the entire battle or chase private punishment. She takes a place inside a temporary community and trusts other people to carry theirs.

Volume 6 · The Gale Wind returns

Legality and justice separate. Lyu chooses justice.

Apollo’s rules exclude outside participants from the War Game. Hestia Familia has five official attackers against more than one hundred defenders. Lyu joins anyway under a hood and her Gale Wind identity, risking exposure, punishment and the safety of the life Mia helped her build.

Syr brings the cape. Hermes helps arrange the breach. Lyu knows Mia will scold her, which is exactly the kind of domestic concern proving she has something to lose now. Returning to combat is not a death wish disguised as heroism. It is a deliberate risk taken for a friend.

Welf supplies two Crozzo Magic Swords—scarlet fire and violet lightning. Lyu uses them to bombard Shreme Castle, collapse its confidence in fixed defenses and draw roughly half Apollo Familia’s force toward the eastern battle. The tactic gives Mikoto, Lilly and Bell the fractured battlefield their plan requires.

She remains calm under counterattack, moves faster than the defenders can contain and turns the fortress into an exposed structure instead of an unbeatable symbol. Lyu is not decorative backup. She is why the castle stops behaving like a castle.

Choice

The hood is not cowardice

It protects Lyu’s current life while allowing the wanted Gale Wind to do what a formally registered waitress cannot.

Breach

Magic swords redraw the map

Fire and lightning let one Level 4 fighter attack at the scale Apollo’s numbers require and force defenders away from Bell’s route.

Foundation

An outsider helps build Hestia Familia’s home

Lyu does not move into the captured manor, but the victory carrying Bell’s household there has her work inside its walls.

Relationships

The people inside Lyu’s file

Friend · Hero · Person who listened

Bell Cranel

Lyu protects Bell before he knows her history, calls him her friend and later lets him stand beside Astrea Familia’s graves without demanding he fix them.

Coworker · Trust route

Syr Flova

Syr understands what moves Lyu and asks when Bell needs her. Their cooperation works because Syr carries emotion without treating Lyu as a weapon she owns.

Employer · Home authority

Mia Grand

Mia gives Lyu work, boundaries and a household after Gale Wind. Lyu’s fear of being scolded matters because discipline now belongs to a life she wants to keep.

Lost Familia · Moral inheritance

Astrea Familia

The dead companions remain the source of Lyu’s grief and justice. Volume 5 turns them from backstory into a relationship she still carries.

Co-fighter · Item maker

Asfi Al Andromeda

They anchor the Black Goliath battle while other fighters assemble Bell’s final route, proving elite competence can serve a collective plan.

Manipulator · Useful ally

Hermes

Hermes understands Lyu’s value and repeatedly routes requests through people she trusts. His help is effective; his habit of turning pain into tests remains morally rotten.

RaeRae’s file note

Lyu is not a weapon waiting for Bell to point her.

She has judgment before he arrives, a workplace outside him, grief he did not create and relationships that do not route through his approval. Bell matters because he becomes one person she can trust with the parts of herself Orario would flatten into “criminal” or “waitress.”

Her Volume 6 entrance works because the earlier books built restraint. When Lyu finally chooses overwhelming force, we know she considered the boundary and crossed it for a reason. The magic-sword bombardment is not cool because a quiet woman was secretly strong. It is cool because a survivor with a home chooses exactly how much of Gale Wind to bring back.

Hot elf. Devastating fighter. Excellent waitress. Complicated survivor. The file gets all four or it does not get Lyu.
