Bete Loga
A powerful adventurer who turns one rookie’s worst moment into entertainment and accidentally supplies the humiliation that makes Bell reckless.

The file
Who Bete Loga is before later volumes get a vote
Bete is strong enough that weakness looks offensive to him. At the Benevolent Mistress, he retells Bell’s Minotaur rescue as a joke, reducing terror to entertainment for people who were not trapped on the fifth floor. The cruelty lands because it gives Bell’s private shame an audience.
Volume 1 does not need Bete to be wrong about every tactical fact. Bell was outmatched. Aiz did save him. The moral failure is Bete’s belief that dependence cancels worth and fear cancels the right to return. Bell’s response is not healthy either: he runs into the Dungeon without proper equipment. Bete becomes a catalyst precisely because his contempt finds a wound already open.
Volume 1 receipts
The scenes doing the character work
Performance
The tavern story
Bete enjoys the room more than the truth. Bell’s fear becomes a prop in somebody else’s status performance.
Contrast
Aiz does not laugh
His cruelty makes Aiz’s refusal visible. Bell hears unanimity, but the scene quietly denies it.
Consequence
The sixth-floor spiral
Bell’s reckless run proves humiliation can motivate growth and endanger the person growing at the same time.
Connections
Nobody becomes interesting alone
Target
Bell Cranel
Bete barely knows Bell, which is part of the point: he judges a whole person from the weakest minute available.
Peer
Aiz Wallenstein
Aiz’s presence gives his story social power; her lack of amusement exposes the limit of his interpretation.
Familia
Loki Familia
His rank and household reputation give the mockery weight Bell cannot dismiss as random tavern noise.

What the War Game changes for Bete Loga
Loki Familia adventurer · Reluctant believer · Alive
Bete remains abrasive enough to make encouragement sound like a threat, but Volume 6 places him among the experienced fighters who can no longer dismiss Bell’s growth as a temporary curiosity. The rookie keeps surviving problems that should expose the difference between courage and capability.
His value in this book is partly tonal. Bell is surrounded by people who love him, fear for him or want to own him. Bete offers the less comfortable recognition of somebody who measures strength harshly and has started noticing that Bell keeps earning another measurement.
Reputation
The rabbit is no longer anonymous
Bell’s victory on Floor 18 and Apollo’s public pursuit force the city’s strongest adventurers to keep his name in the conversation.
Neutrality
Loki Familia stays out
Bete does not become a convenient rescue squad when the smaller Familia needs to build its own answer.
Result
The impossible result lands again
A five-person assault defeating Apollo Familia gives even a professional skeptic new evidence to insult thoughtfully.
