Volume 2 · Plot · Full spoilers

Lilly stole the knife. Bell came back anyway.

The complete plot keeps the supporter economy, theft, divine wine, magic, betrayal and rescue connected. No spoiler-safe summary lives here.

Photorealistic Volume 2 plot scene of Bell and Lilly in the Dungeon

The complete movement

The full plot in nine pictured turns

Volume 2 gives Bell the party member he desperately needs and then makes every reason he needs her politically ugly. Lilly is talented because supporters must be. She is deceptive because trust has repeatedly been used to locate what can be taken from her. Bell’s job is not to discover a secretly harmless girl. It is to decide what he will do after the harmful girl tells him the truth.

The visible plot is Bell getting a supporter. The real plot is Lilly deciding whether partnership can exist without somebody owning the weaker person.
Lilly organizes the Dungeon labor that keeps Bell fighting

Turn 1 · The professional arrives

Lilly makes level seven profitable

Bell acquires Welf Crozzo’s light armor and Eina’s green protector, then meets Lilliluka Erde fleeing an adventurer. She later approaches him directly and offers supporter work. Lilly knows routes, corpse placement, extraction and how to borrow the safe wake left by stronger parties. Bell can finally fight continuously because somebody else is managing everything the hero pose leaves outside the frame.

Lilly steals the Hestia Knife while Bell’s back is turned

Turn 2 · The knife disappears

The first contract is already a con

Lilly fabricates purple-moth poisoning to end their trial run, maneuvers Bell into exposing his back and steals the Hestia Knife. The gnome appraiser values it at thirty vals because the blade dies outside Hestia Familia. Lyu catches Lilly with it and returns it to Bell; Syr sees through the disguise and warns Lilly privately. Bell remains cheerfully behind the evidence.

Bell and Lilly split the earnings from their successful partnership

Turn 3 · Trust becomes a split

Bell gives Lilly half

Hestia approves the arrangement, and Lilly’s carrying Skill transforms Bell’s daily output. Their first full run produces 26,000 vals—more than a typical five-person Level One party. Bell divides it evenly because they did the work together. Lilly expected the vague terms to become another excuse for exploitation. Fair pay becomes the first fact her all-adventurers-are-the-same theory cannot comfortably absorb.

Bell collapses after exhausting his mind with Firebolt

Turn 4 · Firebolt arrives

Freya gives Bell exactly enough power to endanger himself

Freya plants a one-use grimoire at the Benevolent Mistress. Syr hands it to Bell, and his desire for fire, speed, heroism and Aiz awakens Firebolt—instant magic without an incantation. Bell sneaks out to test it, fires his way downward and collapses from Mind Down. The spell is perfect for him. So is the warning he ignores while enjoying it.

Bell wakes from Mind Down in Aiz’s lap

Turn 5 · The lap and the sprint

Aiz gives him the fantasy; Bell treats it like a fire alarm

Aiz and Riveria find Bell unconscious while returning from floor thirty-seven. Riveria diagnoses Mind Down, translates Aiz’s wish to compensate Bell for the tavern humiliation and leaves them together. Bell wakes with his head in Aiz’s lap while she strokes his hair. Then he turns red and bolts. Aiz is left with the genuinely sad question underneath the joke: why does he always run?

Soma’s divine wine quota turns his Familia against itself

Turn 6 · The divine carrot

Eina finds the machine behind Lilly’s desperation

Eina investigates Soma Familia after seeing members fight over appraisals. Riveria brings her to Loki, who explains the perfected wine: overwhelming bliss distributed in tiny tastes to the highest earners. The monthly quota becomes a war. Soma focuses on brewing while his children create the theft, coercion and disposable bodies required to keep access moving upward.

Lilly abandons Bell among four orcs on floor ten

Turn 7 · The tenth-floor betrayal

Lilly chooses the ending she expects

Under pressure from her Familia, Lilly asks Bell to descend to floor ten for one last profitable run. She gives him a longer baselard, moves the Hestia Knife into an exposed holster, uses monster lures to summon four orcs and shoots the holster free. She takes the knife and leaves Bell behind because abandoning him first feels safer than waiting for his inevitable betrayal.

Kanu steals Lilly’s freedom fund and throws her into the killer-ant swarm

Turn 8 · The trap closes twice

Soma Familia demonstrates what it taught her

Gedo catches Lilly, beats her and takes the stolen weapons. Kanu betrays Gedo, steals the key to Lilly’s gnome storage unit and throws her into a swarm summoned with dying killer ants. Her freedom fund disappears in the same system that taught her to build it through theft. Facing death, Lilly finally names the wish underneath escape and reincarnation: she did not want to be alone.

Bell and Lilly begin an honest supporter contract

Turn 9 · The honest beginning

Bell accepts the confession, not the disappearance

Bell returns with Firebolt, tears through more than thirty killer ants and heals Lilly. She confesses every lie, theft and betrayal. His shallow first answer—because she is a girl—fails. The real one lands: because she is Lilly, and he does not want her to disappear. Two days later she approaches in her true form. Bell asks for a supporter. Lilly accepts paid work under her own name.

The backstage route

Aiz clears the path Bell never sees.

Eina hears Soma members planning around Erde and asks Aiz to save Bell. Aiz reaches floor ten, recognizes that Bell is desperately moving toward somebody else and clears the monsters blocking his route instead of forcing another encounter. She later finds Eina’s damaged green protector where Bell fought.

That epilogue completes the supporter argument without announcing it. Bell gets the visible rescue. Aiz performs the invisible labor that makes the rescue possible. The book has spent 249 pages teaching us to look behind the person holding the knife.

End-state receipts: Lilly remains Level One with Cinder Ella and Artel Assist. Bell has Firebolt and a status climbing at impossible speed. Their new contract is honest; Soma Familia is not fixed; Freya is still engineering Bell’s growth from above; Aiz now has a clue connecting him to Eina.

Where Volume 2 lands

The reset works because the first version stays in the file.

Nothing about the ending says trust is complete. Lilly returns, names herself and accepts a structure where labor and pay can be discussed honestly. Bell refuses to reduce her to the worst decision she made. That is not erasure. It is the first choice either of them makes without the con controlling the terms.
