Several companies said yes before JYP became the route

Sullyoon was born in Daejeon and grew up with younger siblings. She trained at Woollim and passed auditions connected to several large agencies before joining JYP through a private audition in 2020. That history is useful because it shows the debut was not one lucky street-casting story.

JYP introduced her through the JYPn qualifying project in September 2021. Early attention focused heavily on her appearance. Her qualifying material and later encores kept adding the missing sentence: she was also being prepared to carry difficult vocal lines.

Music Core and live stages widened the public file

Sullyoon debuted with NMIXX in 2022 and later served as an Music Core MC. Hosting built camera and interview rhythm outside the group’s concept-heavy promotions. Onstage, her clean tone became more forceful across “Love Me Like This,” “DASH,” “Blue Valentine” and “Heavy Serenade.”

She does not need to imitate Lily’s belt or Haewon’s connective phrasing. Her strength is the bright, centered line that can stay pretty without becoming fragile. When an arrangement finally gives that tone weight, the visual discourse becomes background noise.
