Before NEXZ
SO GEON entered the audition under the name Ken without a JYP trainee background. He was born and raised in Tokyo in a Korean family. His early rankings were low because he was learning basic performance skills while other contestants arrived with formal training.
Nizi Project Season 2
He finished twelfth at the Japanese camp and fourth in the final. That climb is one of the show’s most concrete improvement records. After the lineup was formed, his stage name changed from Ken to SO GEON, using the Korean reading of his name.
NEXZ Career
NEXZ released the Japanese and Korean versions of “Miracle” on December 18, 2023, three days after the final lineup was announced. The song had been used for the final stage, so the first release connected the survival-show ending directly to the group.
The official Korean debut came on May 20, 2024 with Ride the Vibe. The group followed it with the Japanese EP Ride the Vibe (Japanese Ver.) / Keep on Moving, the Korean mini albums NALLINA and O-RLY?, and the Japanese EP One Bite. Later releases included Beat-Boxer and the group’s continuing Korean and Japanese catalog.
Their first Japanese national tour, NEXZ LIVE TOUR 2025 “One Bite,” ran for eighteen shows in fifteen cities and drew more than 50,000 people according to Sony Music Japan. The tour placed the seven members in a full concert structure rather than a short rookie showcase.
Performance File
SO GEON brings a direct vocal tone and increasingly confident center presence. The survival-show improvement story explains his route into the group, but current coverage should judge the performer he became rather than keeping him frozen as the untrained contestant.
NEXZ does not publish a rigid list of permanent main and lead positions on its current official profile. This page follows the work visible in releases and performances instead of turning a fan-assigned position into an official fact.
Where to Start
- “Miracle”: the final-show song and first pre-debut release.
- “Ride the Vibe”: the Korean debut and the first full introduction to the lineup.
- “O-RLY?”: a louder Korean comeback that gives the members more comic character.
- “One Bite”: the Japanese title track that became the identity of their first national tour. Read the CVM Sekai React.
