Career, without the two-sentence shortcut
Yangyang spent part of his youth in Germany, auditioned for SM in 2016, joined SM Rookies in 2018, and debuted with WayV in 2019. He later became active in NCT U combinations and released “Low Low” with Ten. His international upbringing is not a decorative profile fact. It shapes his phrasing, humor, and comfort moving between audiences.
Before dance became the center, he trained in violin and participated in competitive dance. He has a sharp rhythmic delivery and some of WayV’s most natural English phrasing. When the production becomes dense, he can cut through without simply getting louder.
What Yangyang brings to WayV
His raps work best when WayV lets him ride a groove instead of forcing a dramatic growl. “BIG BANDS” gives him a chant-heavy, brass-loaded playground. The confidence lands because he sounds like he believes the room was booked in his name.
Personality and fandom file
Yangyang enjoys teasing Xiaojun, gaming, fashion, sneakers, and behaving like the maknae position comes with diplomatic immunity. He can be thoughtful in interviews and then immediately weaponize that intelligence for nonsense.
