Career, without the two-sentence shortcut
Xiaojun grew up in a musical family, studied at the Shanghai Theatre Academy, appeared on the Chinese survival program X-Fire, and was introduced through SM Rookies in 2018. He debuted with WayV in 2019 and later joined NCT U projects, including “Make A Wish.”
His musical-theater instincts show in how he shapes words instead of merely reaching notes. He understands build, release, and facial storytelling. That makes him especially useful in WayV’s dramatic catalog, where a technically correct high note is not enough. It has to sound like the palace is collapsing.
Solo music career
Xiaojun opened a separately credited solo catalog with “Best Friend” (最佳损友 / To My Friend), released July 18, 2024 through Sony Music Entertainment China. The principal solo release is independent of his WayV-KUN&XIAOJUN unit work and therefore qualifies him for the Artists directory. He followed it with an individually credited song for the 2025 Chinese drama 暗河传 soundtrack. A reported future mini album is not listed as released until official publication.
What Xiaojun brings to WayV
He is the vocal peak of songs such as “Back To You,” “On My Youth,” and “Phantom.” In “BIG BANDS,” his job is less heartbreak prince and more brass-section ringleader. The sound is brighter, but his projection keeps the chant from becoming hollow.
Personality and fandom file
Xiaojun is emotional, competitive, easily provoked for comedy, and somehow still patient enough to live with Hendery and Yangyang. His cooking content, dog devotion, gaming, and highly visible reactions made him one of the easiest members for new fans to recognize beyond the stage.
