An elementary-school audition started the long preparation

Kyujin was born in Bundang and has an older brother. She trained at Withbill Dance Academy and joined JYP through an academy audition in 2018 while still in elementary school. Her audition song was Taeyeon’s “Fine.”

She appeared in JYP trainee showcases and, with Jinni and Jiwoo, became part of the first JYPn performance reveal in August 2021. The pre-debut material already treated her as a center-capable dancer rather than a child waiting at the back.

Maknae is an age fact, not her operating style

Kyujin debuted with NMIXX in 2022 as the youngest member. Her roles cross dance, vocals and rap because the group uses her as a performance hinge. She can open a song, carry a transition, lead a dance break and still keep the ensemble line clean.

Offstage, members describe her as organized and attentive. Onstage, that preparation becomes precision: where the eyes land, when the body releases tension and how quickly she resets after a difficult count. The center energy is built, not accidental.
