Bae NMIXX profile with more than the joke compilation. Bae Jin-sol is the low, flexible vocal color inside one of K-pop’s most technically demanding groups, a dancer whose long lines make choreography read clearly, and the member most likely to turn a quiet behind-the-scenes camera into an unscheduled comedy program.

Before NMIXX: the school-gate scouting story and years of training

Bae grew up in Yangsan and was recruited by JYP while she was a student. The often-repeated version says a casting representative approached her outside school. The useful part is not the fairy-tale framing; it is what followed. Being noticed gets someone into an audition room. It does not carry them through years of monthly evaluations, vocal lessons, dance practice and the uncertainty of a trainee lineup.

She entered JYP in 2017 and trained for roughly four years before NMIXX’s launch. Her public predebut reveal came through JYPn material in October 2021, including a cover of Bishop Briggs’ “River” with Sullyoon and a solo vocal cover of “Break My Heart” associated with the qualifying-series rollout. Those clips established a darker, lower vocal texture than viewers might have expected from the bright facial expressions that later dominated variety compilations.

JYP announced the seven-member NMIXX lineup under the SQU4D division. Bae trained alongside Lily, Haewon, Sullyoon, Jiwoo, Kyujin and Jinni. Jinni departed in December 2022, and the group continued as six. Bae remains an active member; a lineup change in the debut year did not interrupt her own membership.

NMIXX career: learning to make the switch sound intentional

2022: O.O, DICE and the argument called MIXX POP

NMIXX debuted on February 22, 2022 with “O.O” and the single album Ad Mare. The song’s abrupt genre changes made the group an instant argument. Bae’s role inside that structure was already useful: her lower tone and slightly dry attack could reset the ear between sharper belts, rap passages and the sudden brighter section. “DICE” continued the MIXX POP structure later that year, while “Funky Glitter Christmas” showed a more straightforward seasonal ensemble sound.

The group’s reputation quickly centered on live singing. That standard can be unfair when fans use one difficult encore as a courtroom, but NMIXX repeatedly built official content around a cappella arrangements, live-band clips and songs designed to expose individual timbres. Bae is not the member usually introduced with the biggest high note. She is the member whose tone helps a six-person harmony avoid becoming six versions of the same brightness.

2023: expérgo and the first broad public breakthrough

Expérgo paired the pre-release “Young, Dumb, Stupid” with “Love Me Like This.” The latter gave the group a more continuous groove and became an important public breakthrough. Bae’s conversational phrasing and relaxed facial timing fit that material naturally. A Midsummer NMIXX’s Dream followed with “Party O’Clock” and “Roller Coaster,” moving the group toward lighter summer color without abandoning stacked vocals.

At the end of 2023, “Soñar (Breaker)” opened the Fe3O4 series. That series clarified the group’s ability to make contrast feel thematic rather than random: heavy rhythm, vocal showmanship and switches that belong to a larger musical world.

2024 to 2025: Fe3O4, KNOW ABOUT ME and Blue Valentine

Fe3O4: Break arrived in January 2024 with “DASH,” one of the cleanest examples of NMIXX making a genre switch feel like propulsion instead of interruption. Fe3O4: Stick Out followed with “See That?” and material that leaned into rougher textures. The 2025 EP Fe3O4: Forward and “KNOW ABOUT ME” completed another stage of that arc.

October 2025 brought NMIXX’s first full album, Blue Valentine. The title track reached a wider domestic audience and led into the group’s first official world-tour era, Episode 1: Zero Frontier. For Bae, the important development was endurance. Full concerts require repeated vocal recovery, long transitions, crowd work and enough personality to carry the moments between tightly rehearsed songs.

2026: Heavy Serenade and an expanded live era

NMIXX released “Crescendo” on April 28, 2026 and the fifth EP Heavy Serenade on May 11. JYP described the album as the group entering MIXXTOPIA and choosing to cultivate love in an empty world. The same month, NMIXX and Anderson .Paak released “Caution.” By this point the group’s discography gives Bae far more to do than simply survive one surprising transition.

The Zero Frontier tour carried the group through Europe and North America in spring 2026. JYP’s official notices and profile still list Bae in the active six-member lineup. Rumors about individual schedules or future projects do not change that status unless the company announces something concrete.

Voice file: why Bae’s lower color matters

Bae’s voice often sits lower and feels more speech-adjacent than the ringing upper colors around her. She can narrow the sound for a rhythmic phrase, add breath for a softer line or open it into a fuller belt when the arrangement needs weight. That versatility is especially valuable in NMIXX because the group’s songs treat vocal tone as part of the genre switch.

It is tempting to rank every member using only range or volume, but arrangement is not an Olympic scoreboard. A lower phrase can make the next high note feel higher. A dry delivery can keep a bright chorus from becoming too polished. Bae’s job is frequently structural: she changes the temperature of a section so the next voice arrives with a new context.

Official a cappella medleys are useful evidence because they expose blend, tuning and rhythm without hiding everything behind the final instrumental. They also show that Bae listens across the group rather than performing her line as an isolated clip. Good ensemble singers adjust vowels, volume and timing so six individual tones become one chord.

Stage presence and variety instincts

Bae’s height and long limbs create clear shapes, but long lines are only helpful when the dancer controls their endpoints. She tends to finish gestures fully and uses her face to connect transitions that could otherwise feel mechanical. In lighter songs, the expression arrives a fraction before the lyric, which makes the camera feel like a scene partner. In heavier material, she can narrow the energy without losing the playful identity fans recognize.

Her variety persona is loud, quick and deliberately strange. She commits to bits, reacts without protecting a polished-idol image and is willing to become the visual punch line. That spontaneity is valuable work. Group content needs members who can start a scene rather than waiting for an editor to manufacture one.

The caution is obvious: a funny member is still a musician. Repeating “Bae is weird” twenty times is not a profile. The stronger picture holds both truths at once. She can derail a calm interview with one noise, then step into a layered chorus and provide the exact grounding color the arrangement needs.

RaeRae take: Bae is the reminder that technical groups still need mischief. Precision without personality can feel like an exam. She makes the exam look like somebody accidentally scheduled it inside a comedy club, then sings the harmony correctly anyway.

Panda side quest: Capricorn plus Wood Monkey

Capricorn

Capricorn is associated with discipline, dry humor and the long climb. Years of trainee repetition fit the disciplined part. Her ability to deliver absurdity with a straight face fits the dry-humor part almost suspiciously well.

Wood Monkey

December 2004 falls in the Wood Monkey year. Monkey symbolism emphasizes quickness, curiosity and improvisation; wood adds growth and cooperation. That is an excellent fan-fiction explanation for a member who can invent a bit instantly and still lock back into formation.

Zodiac is entertainment, not proof of talent, health or personality. The official work above has receipts.

Solo music career

Bae began a separately credited solo-vocal chapter with “Up&Down” for The Fourth Love Revolution soundtrack in 2025. This commercial OST release establishes her solo-artist eligibility independently of NMIXX album tracks.
