Gedo

Adventurer · Status unknown after Volume 2

Lilly’s former employer and theft victim, violent enough to punish her and shortsighted enough to believe Kanu’s trap has room for two winners.

Gedo watching Lilly inside the Volume 2 supporter trap

The profile

Gedo is owed a grievance. He turns it into permission.

Volume 2 does not pretend Lilly chose random innocent adventurers because stealing looked fun. Her supporter history is built from underpayment, physical abuse and employers who expect the smallest body in the party to become the decoy when monsters close in. Gedo belongs to that labor economy. He is also one of the people Lilly steals from.

Those facts can coexist. Gedo has reason to be angry about the stolen property. He does not gain the right to beat, strip and abandon Lilly because the grievance is real. The character file matters precisely because the book refuses the clean casting fans usually want: victim on one side, predator on the other, everybody issued a permanent uniform.

When Gedo first proposes using Bell to isolate Lilly, his language tells us what recovery means to him. Supporters are disposable trash; Lilly’s accumulated money is a haul to divide; Bell’s access to her is another tool. He is not asking the Guild to investigate. He is recruiting a stronger adventurer into a private punishment scheme and offering a percentage.

Bell refuses because Gedo’s contempt exposes the structure underneath the stolen goods. Later, Gedo catches Lilly without Bell, retakes the Hestia Knife and magic sword, and uses violence to reverse the power balance. He thinks the trap has finally placed him on top. Kanu arrives to demonstrate how temporary that position is.

Gedo is both theft victim and violent employer. Volume 2 refuses to pretend one role cancels the other.

Scene receipts

What Gedo actually does on the page

Receipt 01 · Recruitment

He offers Bell a share of the capture

Gedo sees Bell’s partnership with Lilly as access. He proposes that Bell help isolate her, capture her and divide the recovered wealth. The plan converts a working relationship into surveillance and treats Bell’s trust as a resource to sell.

Receipt 02 · Contempt

The supporter is disposable before she is guilty

His language about supporters does not begin with Lilly’s theft. It reflects a hierarchy where weaker workers are parasites until their labor or bodies become useful. Bell’s anger is not proof Lilly is innocent; it is recognition that Gedo’s justice already contains exploitation.

Receipt 03 · Capture

He takes the weapons back through force

On floor seven, Gedo corners Lilly, beats her and strips away the Hestia Knife and magic sword. He has recovered property she took. He has also chosen private violence against somebody too weak to answer him.

The reversal

Kanu makes Gedo experience his own employment theory.

Gedo believes the temporary alliance around Lilly gives him protection. It does not. Kanu and his allies want the same money and weapons, and the moment Gedo becomes an obstacle he receives the status he assigned to supporters: useful until a stronger person decides the risk should move downward.

The killer-ant trap is built from injured ants whose pheromones summon the swarm. Kanu does not need loyalty from Gedo any more than Gedo believed an adventurer needed loyalty toward a supporter. Shared predation cannot hold the alliance together because advantage was the only principle in the room.

Gedo’s reversal is not presented as cosmic moral balance. Lilly remains the person thrown into the swarm. It is evidence. A labor system that recognizes power as the only secure claim cannot promise safety to the powerful either. There is always another person waiting to become the new top.

Relationships

The people inside Gedo’s file

Former employee · Thief · Victim

Lilliluka Erde

Their relationship cannot be reduced to either one word. Lilly worked under him, stole from him and later suffers his retaliation. Exploitation does not erase theft; theft does not authorize every punishment.

Recruitment target · Refusal

Bell Cranel

Gedo assumes Bell will value the recovered money over the supporter. Bell’s refusal exposes the gap between being angry about theft and accepting Gedo’s treatment of weaker workers.

Temporary ally · Betrayer

Kanu

Kanu shares the target only until the recovered assets become easier to seize directly. Gedo’s predator status offers no protection once Kanu controls the better trap.

Character movement

Gedo’s Volume 2 arc

Step 1

The grievance

Lilly’s earlier theft gives Gedo a real loss and a reason to pursue her.

Step 2

The permission slip

He turns that loss into the belief that capture, beating and profit-sharing are justified.

Step 3

The reversal

Kanu treats Gedo’s claim as disposable the moment stronger leverage appears.

Gedo does not receive an apology, redemption or clean defeat before Volume 2 closes. His function is to make the supporter economy personal, then demonstrate how quickly a predator can become another expendable participant inside the same rules.

RaeRae’s file note

Being robbed does not make every response justice.

This is the part fandom arguments love to flatten. Lilly stole from Gedo. He is allowed to be furious. He is not automatically righteous when he beats a weaker former worker, recruits her current partner into a capture scheme and treats her body as the route to the money.

Volume 2 gives Gedo enough truth to build a defense and enough conduct to destroy the defense he builds. That contradiction is the character. Removing either half turns the file into a morality flash card.

The question is not whether Gedo was wronged. The question is what he decided being wronged permitted him to do.

Volume boundary

The rabbit hole stays open without stealing later answers.

This biography stops at the final page of Volume 2. Gedo’s status after the floor-seven trap remains unknown here; later material stays sealed until its owned book receives a completed reading pass.
