Hestia

Goddess · Hestia Familia patron · Alive

A tiny goddess with a huge emotional jurisdiction and no intention of letting mortality have the final word.

The profile

Why the rabbit hole starts here

Hestia builds a Familia from the people larger institutions discard. Her jealousy is loud enough to become comedy, but the serious file is labor, shelter and radical consistency: she keeps choosing Bell and then widens the home around him.

A tiny goddess with a huge emotional jurisdiction and no intention of letting mortality have the final word.

Volume 8 development · Full spoilers

The everyday-story volume changes the file.

Ares kidnaps her as leverage for Welf, ties her behind his saddle and carries her into Beor. Without Arcanum she is physically vulnerable—cold, injury and illness can kill her like any mortal. Bell catches her above the river; Edas nurses her back. She dances with Bell, steals Aiz for the better dance, recognizes Brigit’s name at Kam’s deathbed and carries the answer that lets him die in peace. Afterward she gives Bell the book’s thesis: gods remember every mortal love forever, and she still chooses the moment. She will remain through his old age, find him after rebirth and ask him to join her again.

Connections

Relationships

Bell is her first child and the relationship she refuses to reduce to one label. Kam and Brigit give her promise evidence and cost. Aiz is rival, rescue partner and the woman whose hidden grief catches on Hestia’s words. Ares is the divine idiot who learns that kidnapping one goddess activates half of Orario.
