Volume 5 · Arcs · Full spoilers
Six movements. No borrowed arc count.

The six actual story movements
Movement 1
The expedition breaks
The pass parade wounds the route as badly as the party, turning planned descent into survival.
Movement 2
The rescuers descend
Hestia’s improvised party crosses institutional caution with skill, guilt and no intention of arriving late.
Movement 3
Floor 18 breathes
The groups reunite, Mikoto apologizes, Lyu visits Astrea Familia’s graves and Rivira reveals the society built inside the Dungeon.
Movement 4
Mord makes resentment visible
Hermes gives a bad impulse equipment. Bell wins without turning the humiliated adventurer into a disposable villain.
Movement 5
The Dungeon answers a god
Hestia’s power calls up a monster designed like punishment: regenerative, irregular and aimed at the entire floor.
Movement 6
The settlement becomes a party
Different Familias and rival adventurers combine their specialties until Bell has a final strike worth charging.
Why these six movements belong to this book
The disaster expands in rings: party, rescuers, settlement, entire floor.
Volume 5 does not contain six unrelated adventures. Each movement widens responsibility. Bell’s party first carries danger redirected by somebody else. Hestia’s rescue team carries the consequences of delay. Rivira carries the compromises of building society underground. The Black Goliath finally forces every group on Floor 18 to carry survival together.
Movement 01 · the expedition breaks
A pass parade turns another party’s rescue into Bell’s emergency
Bell, Lilly and Welf begin prepared enough to deserve confidence. Ouka’s decision to redirect monsters changes the rules faster than preparation can absorb. Chigusa needs immediate protection; Bell’s party becomes the unconsulted cost. Retreat upward collapses, supplies drain and Floor 18 becomes the only refuge reachable through the pressure.
The movement is not simply “monsters attack.” It is about how one party’s survival choice propagates through the Dungeon and creates moral debt long after the monsters are gone.
Movement 02 · the rescuers descend
Hestia refuses to let procedure become an obituary
The Guild’s caution makes institutional sense and emotional nonsense to a goddess whose only child is missing below. Hestia gathers Lyu, Hermes, Asfi, Mikoto, Ouka and Chigusa. The formation is held together by loyalty, guilt, expertise and the certainty that waiting will not become easier if Bell dies during it.
Crossing the Goliath’s timing proves rescue is its own expedition. Love may start the descent, but skill and coordination are what keep love from becoming another casualty.
Movement 03 · Floor 18 breathes
Relief opens into a society with commerce, graves and memory
Aiz and Loki Familia find Bell’s exhausted party, and the reunion allows everybody to breathe. That pause makes room for consequences: Mikoto apologizes for the pass parade, Lyu visits the graves of Astrea Familia and Rivira reveals the compromise required to sustain a settlement inside hostile territory.
Floor 18 is not outside the Dungeon’s story. It is what people build inside danger when returning to the surface is too expensive, too slow or temporarily impossible.
Movement 04 · resentment gets equipment
Hermes turns Mord’s grievance into public proof
Mord’s anger at Bell’s rapid rise is ordinary enough to be dangerous. Hermes supplies pressure and opportunity; the Hades Head supplies concealment; Hestia’s abduction supplies leverage. Bell wins the forced duel but refuses to make Mord disposable after defeat.
The movement exposes fame as a combat condition. Bell’s record inspires allies and manufactures enemies who believe the city has skipped their labor to celebrate a child.
Movement 05 · the Dungeon answers a god
Hestia’s divine release produces an irregular punishment
Hestia uses divine power underground, and the Dungeon responds by creating a Black Goliath outside the expected cycle. Its regeneration and hostility turn the entire safe point into a target. The threat is not merely larger than the usual floor boss; it is evidence that the Dungeon recognizes divine trespass and can improvise a correction.
The safe floor becomes unsafe because the boundary between gods and the lower world has been made visible.
Movement 06 · the settlement becomes a party
Collective labor gives Bell a final strike worth charging
Rivira’s adventurers, rival Familias and people who distrusted one another minutes earlier divide the work. Lyu, Asfi, Mikoto, Ouka, Welf, Mord and others attack the Goliath’s mobility, regeneration and defenses. Welf’s Burning Moon becomes one necessary tool among many rather than a shortcut that erases the wielders.
Bell’s Argonaut strike finishes the battle. It does not own the battle. The movement completes Volume 4’s party lesson at the scale of an entire floor: heroism is the point where accumulated effort finally lands.
The seventh movement hiding in the aftermath
The Guild buries the Calamity, Hermes reveals Zeus, and Apollo arrives to turn fame into possession.
The battle closes the Floor 18 crisis. The aftermath opens the next franchise phase: institutions control the public story, Bell’s private history becomes larger, and another god decides the remarkable boy should belong somewhere else.
