The full plot · Continued

Bell and Lilly begin again, but a blank slate does not erase the old writing

Bell and Lilly resume Dungeon work after Volume 2’s betrayal and rescue. Bell treats the partnership as a new contract; Lilly still expects forgiveness to require punishment. She allows Lilliluka Erde to remain officially dead and uses Cinder Ella as operational cover because Soma Familia still owns her Falna. Bell and Hestia invite her to transfer, but Lilly refuses. Leaving Soma is not simple administration, and she will not drag the institution that hurt her into the church without a plan.

The renewed partnership is honest without becoming magically easy. Lilly watches Bell’s abnormal growth attract attention and hostility. Bell keeps trying to close the distance to Aiz, while the city reads his improvement as rumor before it knows the work behind it. Freya and Ottar observe from another scale entirely. Firebolt and Bell’s expanding status convince Freya that the rookie’s old Minotaur terror is now the obstacle shaping everything else.

Aiz apologizes for the rescue Bell has spent weeks treating as his private shame

Bell and Aiz finally speak without a monster between them. Aiz apologizes because the original Minotaur escaped Loki Familia’s expedition and reached the fifth floor. Bell is horrified. He has treated the event as proof of his own weakness; Aiz has been carrying responsibility for failing to stop the danger sooner. The mismatch cracks open the pedestal Bell built around her.

Aiz offers training, partly because Bell’s growth interests her and partly because she wants to compensate. They meet at dawn on Orario’s wall. She corrects his knife form, teaches him to use kicks and his entire body and forces him to perceive the opponent rather than stare at a weapon. Bell learns timing and peripheral awareness. He also gets knocked unconscious repeatedly because Level Six strength and beginner-safe instruction are not the same professional qualification.

The lap pillows that follow are comic, intimate and evidence of Aiz’s concern. She asks Loki Familia how to teach weaker adventurers because Bell has become more than a growth puzzle. Bell, meanwhile, is still one direct invitation away from turning into a fire alarm.

Freya diagnoses the wound correctly and responds by ordering a weaponized nightmare

Freya understands that the Minotaur defeat is not a stat problem. It is shame stored in Bell’s body. Her proposed cure is a new Minotaur. Ottar captures one, defeats it repeatedly, trains it, arms it with a great cleaver and releases it where Bell cannot dismiss the encounter as an ordinary monster spawn. The plan is psychologically precise and ethically appalling.

Ottar’s role matters because the trial does not arrive as divine magic. It arrives as labor applied to violence. The Minotaur learns, adapts and reaches Bell capable of reproducing the original terror at a higher level. Freya wants a test whose outcome remains genuinely uncertain. If Bell dies, she believes she can pursue his soul. If he wins, she gets to watch the color change.

The Minotaur appears, Bell freezes, and escape offers the exact pattern he cannot repeat

Bell and Lilly encounter the trained Minotaur. Bell’s new skills do not prevent the body from remembering. He freezes. Aiz and Loki Familia arrive with enough power to end the fight, but Bell asks them not to intervene. The request is not proof that help was shameful. Aiz’s training and Lilly’s presence are already inside the choice. Bell needs to know whether he can stand after fear, not whether a stronger person can erase the problem again.

The battle is close and exhausting. Bell uses everything Aiz taught: whole-body movement, kicks, peripheral awareness and judgment that survives panic. Lilly watches the person who returned for her choose a fight that may kill him. Her concern is not decorative. She understands the cost of refusing escape because Bell once made the same refusal on her behalf.

Tiona recognizes the scene as the Argonaut legend, the story of a blundering hero who kept moving until he saved a queen from a bull-monster. Bell’s childhood myth and present fear finally become the same story. The Hestia Knife grows with him and survives exchanges the Minotaur’s cleaver cannot. The cleaver shatters after Ottar’s training and the full force of the fight.

Bell wins in front of the people qualified to understand how impossible it was

Bell burns through mind and body, defeats the Minotaur and collapses. First-tier adventurers witness the fight and see the technique, terror and refusal behind the result. Aiz carries him to Babel’s medical center; Lilly goes with them. Bell’s exposed status shocks Loki Familia. His abilities have reached S and beyond, including SS agility, breaking assumptions about what a Level One can hold.

The Guild records that Bell reached Level 2 after one month and 3,001 monsters slain, making him the fastest adventurer on record to level up. The number becomes public before Bell has finished recovering from what produced it. Bete can no longer dismiss the rookie and is forced to remember his own road to strength.

Hestia watches Bell sleep, reads the story engraved across his back, kisses his forehead and calls the achievement the first page. The ending refuses to treat Level 2 as graduation. Bell has not become fearless. He has learned that fear does not get final authorship.

Plot verdict

Volume 3 turns growth mechanics into emotional evidence. Bell does not defeat the Minotaur because the numbers say it is time. The numbers become legible afterward because he chose the fight that earned them.
