Hua Guo Shan, Flower–Fruit Mountain

Hua Guo Shan is more than a paradise of waterfalls and blossoms. It is the birthplace of Sun Wu Kong’s rise to destiny. Long before the world learned his name, this mountain was home to a carefree tribe of monkeys who lived without rules, leaders, or fear. Everything changed the day a stone egg cracked open on the mountaintop and a newborn monkey stood and bowed to the Four Directions.

Curious, bold, and impossibly bright, he soon led the tribe across cliffs and rivers, discovering places no monkey had ever reached. When he leapt through the great waterfall and found Shuilian Dong, the Water Curtain Cave, the monkeys crowned him their king on the spot. For the first time, Hua Guo Shan had a ruler born not from power but from pure affection.

Under his leadership, the mountain grew into a true monkey kingdom. Cliffside homes glowed with warm lantern light. Hanging bridges stretched across the ravines. The tribe grew strong, confident, and united. What had once been a quiet paradise became a lively realm filled with laughter, training drums, and the joy of celebration.

Hua Guo Shan became Sun Wu Kong’s sanctuary and his throne. It is the only place he ever called home and the heart of everything he fought to protect.
