Julia Quinn

The largest author holding in this Library, spanning five separate series and twenty years, from the 1995 debut through to the Bridgertons and their spin-offs.

What is here

Nineteen titles, five series, one shared world

Everything on this shelf by Quinn sits in the same Regency England. The Bridgertons are the center of it, the Rokesbys are the generation before them, and the Smythe-Smiths run alongside as neighbors whose annual concert everyone dreads. The two earliest series predate that world and stand apart.

A note on the second epilogues. Four of the nineteen entries are second epilogues rather than novels, short follow-ups Quinn wrote years later revisiting couples whose books had already ended. They are counted here because they were bought separately, but they are extras, not entries in the run.
Series · 6 novels + 4 second epilogues

Bridgerton

Eight siblings named alphabetically, one anonymous gossip columnist, and the series that became the Netflix adaptation. Six of the eight novels are here.

Rokesby

A prequel sequence set a generation before the Bridgertons, following the Rokesby family who live next door to them. Reading it after the Bridgertons is the intended experience: it is written to be recognized rather than introduced.

Smythe-Smith Quartet

The famously dreadful annual musicale was a running joke across the Bridgerton novels. This quartet goes back and gives the girls holding the instruments their own books.

Before the Bridgertons

The early books, and why they are worth having

Five of the nineteen predate everything above. Quinn debuted in 1995, and these two short family sagas are the first things she published, five books across roughly two years, before the world that made her name existed.

Series · complete run, 3 of 3 · 1995–1996

The Blydon Family Saga

  • Splendid · her first published novel, 1995
  • Dancing at Midnight
  • Minx · 1996

Also sold as the Splendid Trilogy. Listings disagree about the internal order of these three, because publication order and the family’s own chronology do not match: the shelf follows one convention and other bibliographies follow the other. All three are here either way.

Series · complete run, 2 of 2 · 1997

The Lyndon Family Saga

  • Everything and the Moon
  • Brighter than the Sun

Also listed as the Lyndon Sisters. Both books on the shelf, which makes this the second complete Quinn run here after the Blydons.

Owning both early sagas complete is the most interesting thing about this holding. Most Quinn shelves are Bridgerton and stop there. This one has the beginning as well as the famous part, which means the whole arc is readable in order.

Coverage

What still has no hub

The Bridgerton and Smythe-Smith runs have their own pages. The Rokesby book and the two early sagas do not yet, five novels and one prequel between them.

Nothing here has been read directly for this page. Series membership, publication years and ordering come from standard bibliographies cross-checked across sources, and from the shelf record itself. Where listings disagree, the disagreement is stated rather than resolved silently. No biography is included; this hub is a record of what is on the shelf.
