Career
NCT DREAM and the adolescence era
Renjun debuted with NCT DREAM in 2016, when the unit was built around youth and a graduation system. “Chewing Gum,” “My First and Last,” “We Young” and “We Go Up” documented a group growing in public while the original concept threatened to separate the members as they aged.
7DREAM
SM ended the graduation structure in 2020 and restored the seven-member configuration. Renjun remained central to the vocal identity of Hot Sauce, Hello Future, Glitch Mode, Beatbox, ISTJ, DREAM( )SCAPE and the group’s later releases. “7DREAM” is not a sentimental nickname floating outside the catalog. It describes the fixed group configuration fans fought to see preserved.
His absences for health do not change his current membership. A schedule is not a citizenship test. If the official group still names him, the profile does too.
Solo career
Before an official solo release
Renjun built an individual reputation through covers, radio work, special stages and NCT recordings. Those performances matter to his artistic development, but covers and group-album member tracks were not enough to classify him as a solo artist under CVM Sekai’s rule.
同谋者的默契 (Echoes Between Us)
That changed in 2026. The Chinese-language solo project 同谋者的默契 (Echoes Between Us) was released through a TME Producers’ Studio and SM collaboration. The title track arrived first, followed by the full three-track project with “好眠 (Gentle Slumber)” and “Halo.”
The title translates the idea of understanding between accomplices or co-conspirators, but the emotional center is intimacy rather than crime. Renjun’s voice is treated as a narrator instead of one color inside a seven-person arrangement. The production gives his breath, consonants and changes in pressure room to become part of the story.
This is the eligibility line: an official, separately credited Renjun project exists. His canonical record therefore appears in Members because he is in NCT DREAM and in Artists because he has his own released catalog.
Voice and performance
Renjun’s vocal color is bright and slightly grainy at the edge. He can project a melodic line without making it heavy, which is why his parts often feel like emotional pivots in DREAM songs. His strongest performances do not simply chase volume. They use the difference between a clear attack and a softened ending.
He is also attentive to visual art and presentation. That sensitivity shows up in how he discusses color, mood and personal expression. It does not magically make every teaser his solo work, but it helps explain why his official solo project feels curated rather than assembled.
